Man hurt in weekend fight dies in hospital
By Tracy HUFFMAN, Crime Reporter
A Rexdale strip club owner has been charged with manslaughter after a fight in Etobicoke Saturday morning.
Police originally charged Peter CONSTANTINE, 30, of Toronto, with aggravated assault following an altercation on 8th St. around 3: 50 a.m. Saturday that sent Quang NGUYEN to hospital.
NGUYEN, 39, was pushed, punched and kicked during the fight, police said, and then fell and hit his head.
He was taken to hospital by Friends that morning and put on life support.
Police said CONSTANTINE and NGUYEN did not know each another. The fight began after a verbal dispute, police said.
The incident was reported to police Monday and CONSTANTINE was arrested for aggravated assault.
NGUYEN died Monday in hospital; an autopsy concluded the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
