Norm TYLER of Acton (formerly of Hillsburgh, Erin, Mississauga and Lachine, Quebec), passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital, on Thursday, October 6, 2005, in his 83rd year. Loving husband of Nellie (CLINTON) and the late Betty, father of Susan SHEPHERD of Mississauga, Rick and his wife Diane of Guelph, Colin and his wife Shanlee of Mississauga, Monica and her husband David BELYK of Barrie, and a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Norm was the step-father of Stephen CLINTON and his wife Paulette, Sandra and her husband Dan HOWEY, and grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Clifford of Calgary and was predeceased by his brothers Russell and Charles. The family will receive Friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home "Shoemaker Chapel," 55 Mill Street East, Acton, on Saturday, October 8th from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Legion tribute will follow at nine o'clock. Passed away peacefully on Saturday November 12, 2005, at the Lakeridge Health Centre Whitby after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Alvin CLINTON. Proud mother of her children Ruthanne (Mike), Chas. (Kim), Ted (Linda), Ray (Leigh Ann) and the late Douglas (Dian). We miss you already Mom. Gwen will also be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren and seven (soon to be eight) great-grandchildren, her many nieces, nephews, and their families. Mrs. McCURDY will be resting at the W.C. HUDSON, Gerald Ivor (November 13, 1918-October 25, 2005)
It is with profound regret that our family announces the death of Gerald HUDSON of Maitland Manor in Goderich, Ontario. Gerry was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (BALDWIN,) and leaves to mourn his wife Lorna May (CLIPPERTON,) son Laurence (Nicole) of Ottawa, daughter Valerie (Tom) of Calgary, grandchildren Paul, Julie, Renée and Romi. Also left in mourning are the children from his second marriage - Lynda, Raymond, Brenda and Mark, and their children, Jennifer, Stephanie, Lisa, Matthew, Brent, Lindsey and Lana. Born in England and a veteran of the Royal Artillery during World War 2, Gerry eventually became a proud Canadian, and taught his children the same pride. He would regale his children and grandkids with stories of his adventures during the war, and was proud of his achievements as an artilleryman, and subsequently as a peacemaker. After his retirement from the London Transportation Commission, he moved to Goderich, was active in the Legion, was an avid model engineer, a participant in the Huron County Museum, and was a member of the North Street United Church. Cremation a Memorial Service will be held at McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Cambria Road at East Street, Goderich on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to service. Cam was a wonderful step-father to Margie CLIPSHAM, and Rob and Greg McCREA; he will be fondly remembered by their families. Cam will be sadly missed by the Schofield family as well as his many Friends. Born in Victoria, British Columbia in 1924, Cam attended Shawnigan Lake School and then University of British Columbia where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a dedicated employee for the Steel Co. of Canada for many years until his retirement in 1989. Cam always cherished the special times spent with both family and Friends.
