his 49th year, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
Laurence hailed from Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Canada
in his twenties. He had a successful career as an optician, while
raising his beloved children Chris, 23 and Julia, 12, with is
former wife Lynn. His last employer was Cummins Optical in Masonville
Place, where he earned the respect of customers and staff alike.
He spent the last seven years enjoying life as part of a second
family with his partner Kelly. Laurence was the epitome of a
family. His many interests included reading and collecting books
(his collection of hard cover books number 500, including many
first editions). He loved classical music, and was an accomplished
pianist. He was a great scrabble and crossword aficionado, and
loved to work with wood.
He is survived by Chris and Julia, James and Mavis, Stephen,
Melissa, Jacob and Hannah

"Smiley" DAY of Watford in his 12th year. Jalen, an inspiring
"National Hockey Leaguer" played for the Watford Wolves in the
Pee-Wee A division and can be best described as inspirational,
tough, a joker, a fighter, a believer, faithful, charming and
a violinist. He was truly larger than life. Jalen will always

T'was time to lay your burden down and free your noble spirit
to soar with the birds once more. Our dearly beloved John passed
away on Friday, June 17th. John was a remarkable man who battled
his extremely rare cancer for two years with his quiet grace
and dignity. John accomplished many dreams in his life, and lived
his years to the fullest. He was a gentle passionate man who
embraced challenges in all aspects of his life and found joi
de vivre in them all. John received his P.Eng. and M.B.A. from
the University of Toronto and his M.P.A. from York, and followed
this by a career in the field he enjoyed so much. John was blessed
with his wonderful parents Madge and Jack (predeceased), with
his wife Jeanne with whom he shared his dreams, was father to

south of Steeles). Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew
the Apostle Anglican Church, (80 George Henry Blvd.), on Tuesday
December 6th, 2005 at 10 o'clock. Interment to follow at Highland
Memory Gardens (Don Mills Road, south of Steeles Avenue). As
an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to North York
General Hospital or St. Matthew the Apostle Anglican Church.
