Wife of the late Frank CRESSMAN, died peacefully April 8, 2005 at Lanark Heights in Kitchener in her 94th year. She will be sadly missed by sons Ken (Penny), John (Sandi) and daughter Mary Sue CATANIA (Vince.) She was proud Grammie of Jennifer (J.P.,) Glenn (Sarah), Brad, Jeff (Charlene), Jamie (Lori), Ginny and Sarah Lynn; as well as eight great-grandchildren: Katie Sue, Jaime Lynn, Julia, Jacob, Evan, Owen, Mia and Sam. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1934. She enjoyed her teaching career at Eastwood Collegiate; was a long time member of the Kitchener Public Library Board; served on the board of the Young Women's Christian Association and was a Past-President of the University Women's Club. She thoroughly enjoyed her book club and bridge with her Friends. Dorothy had a long relationship with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. She served as elder, choir-member and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen St. N. Kitchener. Suddenly in North Vancouver, British Columbia while visiting family on Sunday, October 2, 2005, beloved husband of Vera WALTERS of Stratford, Ontario, his wife of 61 years. Father of Christine and Charles STEDMAN of Calgary, Marilyn and the late Shaun BROWN of Vancouver, James CATANIA and his wife Judi RICHARDSON of North Vancouver and Thomas CATANIA of Toronto. Grandfather of Alexandra BREIDFJORD and Peter STEDMAN, Liam, Ryan, Kristen and Maureen BROWN and Mitchell CATANIA; great-grandfather of George and Henry BROWN and Gabriel BREIDFJORD. He was predeceased by his infant granddaughter Sarah BROWN. Peter was the youngest of five sons of the late Sam and Mary CATANIA of Toronto. He is survived by his brother Anthony CATANIA and his wife Doris of Newmarket, Ontario and by brothers- and sisters-in-law Ruth CATANIA of Beeton, Ontario, George and Rita WALTERS of Uxbridge, Ontario and June and Norman JACKSON of Toronto. He was predeceased by his brothers- and sisters-in-law Michael and Frances CATANIA, William and Hilda CATANIA, Leo CATANIA and Angeline CATANIA, and by Clarence WALTERS and Louise and Cliff CHAPMAN. Peter served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2 from 1942 to 1946. He began his classroom teaching career in Toronto in 1948, became physical education consultant to the Stratford Board of Education in 1955 and concluded his teaching career in the classroom in 1983. Peter was a past President of the Rotary Club of Stratford and a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as Attendance Officer for over 25 years and was proud of his 29 years of perfect attendance. For the 1999 International Year of the Senior, Peter was chosen Stratford's Senior of the Year. He was a member of Saint John's United Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Peter was a wonderful, caring person who will be missed by many. Friends may call at the W.G. Dear father of Kathrine ROBERTSON (Kenneth), Ann OSMAR (Terry), Gwen BRYANT, Peter (Karen) and Keith (Gayle). Loving grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 2. Gordon was born in Eston, Saskatchewan in 1919. son of the late Allan and Emily WEBSTER. Brother of the late Freeman and Louise CATHERWOOD. He moved to Marie, Prince Edward Island in 1930, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 as a flight sergeant. In 1943 married Marguerite CARR in St. George's United Church in Toronto. He was stationed in Moncton and then Goose Bay Labrador till the end of the War. Returned to Toronto, obtaining his chartered accountant degree (C.A.) from Queen's University. Moving to Thornhill, he became chief Accountant for Ontario Department of Highways and then Controller for Ontario Department of Labour, retiring from there in 1984. He was a member of Thornhill and Bracebridge United Churches. He loved fishing, bridge and was a member of South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club. Cremation has taken place.
