Gordon was a veteran of World War 2 serving with The Canadian Army and was employed by the U.W.O. Maintenance Department for many years. He was also a member of The London Gospel Temple. Dear father of Pamela KUBIS and her husband John of Mississauga and Michele CANNING and her husband Howard of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Lindsay, Ryan and Joshua and survived by his many nieces and nephews in Scotland, United Kingdom. Predeceased by his two sisters and one brother. John was a Royal Air Force Veteran of World War 2 and served in Karachi for several years. In 1952, John came to Canada and worked on the Avro Arrow. A private family service was held at the Woodstock General Hospital Chapel with Pastor Keith BISHOP. Interment later in Dundee, Scotland. It is with great sadness that the family of Debra Lynn CANNON, 48, wishes to announce her peaceful death, surrounded by family at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus on Sunday, April 24, 2005. Debbie, predeceased by her father, Jack, in 1990, will be greatly missed by her mother, Marion, her brother Gord and wife Cathy, her sister Cheryle WILSON and husband Danny, loving aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews Laura and friend Elizabeth, Perry and wife Tracy, Jocelyn and husband Mike, and Darryl and great-nephew Joshua.
Debbie worked at ARC Industries in Woodstock all of her adult life and was involved in the Friendship Club at the Christian Reformed Church for 15 years. Time spent with support workers was also important to Debbie. She will be remembered and missed for her quiet presence, and smiling face and wonderful sense of humour. It was an honour and a privilege to have been part of her life and she taught us a lot. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Alexandra Hospital and in the Critical Care Trauma Centre of Old South Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care of Debbie, and the rest of the family as well. A special thank you goes to Dr. Lori BRUCE for going above and beyond the call of duty. Peacefully in Ottawa, on Monday, August 15, 2005, at the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre after a struggle with poor health. Predeceased by his first wife Betty QUINN, his second wife Madeleine (PRATTE) CANNON and his step-son Michael CANNON. Cherished and special Papa to Kelley CANNON. Sadly missed by step-daughter-in-law Carol CANNON of Oakville and step-daughter Elizabeth CANNON of White Rock, British Columbia. Bruce had a fulfilling and exciting life. He travelled extensively in his career and was blessed with many Friends. He was born in Nipigon, Ontario, graduated from University of Toronto and saw service in the Canadian Army. On his return from Europe he taught one year at Ridley College, St. Catharines, Ontario and then started his career with the Department of External Affairs in 1946. His many postings included Ambassador to Turkey, Ambassador to Yugoslavia and High Commissioner to India. He had a wide range of interests throughout his life. He was an enthusiastic golfer and a member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club. He enjoyed music, art, dancing and entertaining with Friends. Thank-you to the doctors and staff at the Perley and a very special and sincere thank-you for the extraordinary kind, warm and loving care given by his special nurses. They were there for him when family was not able. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Sussex Drive, Ottawa on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 10: 30 am. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Peacefully at University Hospital on Tuesday, December 27th, 2005, June Marie BRESLIN of London in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Frank BRESLIN. Loving mother of Colleen (Philip) CANON of London. Devoted grandmother of Leila and Mallory. Dear sister of Phyllis CALEY- EAST, Betty DEMILLE and the late Vernon STREBE. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. June will be greatly missed by the Lyons family. A special thanks to Dr. Henry BENDHEIM and nurses Karen and Ursula for their kind care. Veteran World War 2, 6 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons 124 and 345 Transport. Passed away, at Etobicoke General Hospital, on Sunday, October 23, 2005. Beloved and cherished husband of Jessie (née DAVIDSON) for 51 years. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret WATSON and the late Wilfred WATSON. Great-uncle of Jody McKEOWN and Lori and Jean-Marc LANGEVIN and family. Uncle of the late Sandra McKEOWN (née CANON) and survived by nephew Robert McKEOWN. Jack is survived by his brother Tom SELLERS and predeceased by sisters Mary LAWSON, Bernice McCLEAN and Audry CORDIER. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
