SMYTH, Jack Norman
Jack Norman SMYTH was born on August 17, 1933 in Port Burwell and lived there all his life. He was the owner and operator of Port Burwell Welding and served as the Reeve of Port Burwell for 7 years and also served on town council. Jack passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the London Health Sciences Trauma Unit, South Street Campus as the result of an automobile accident and stroke.
Jack was the son of the late Floyd and Irene (FLEUELLING) SMYTH. He is survived by his wife and best friend for 41 years, Irene (BERDAN) SMYTH. Loving step-father of Karen ALWARD and her husband Murray and Murray WISSON and his wife Linda. Cherished grandfather of Tom ALWARD and Donna, Paul ALWARD and Lisa, Melissa CAIN and Bob, Stephanie WISSON and Nadine BUTLER and Shaun. Papa Jack will be greatly missed by his 5 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bud SMYTH and Kay, Marguerite FOLOW, Leta TOWNSEND, Myrtle BARTOLACCI and Donna DOUCETTE and Frank. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at the Ostrander's Funeral Home, Tillsonburg (842-5221) on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill BALL officiating. Anne was a very devoted Christian and a spiritual inspiration to many, and lived her life to the glory of God. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann (née PANTELE.) He is the cherished father and father-in-law to Brigitte and her husband Horst PETERSEN, Bruno and his wife Kelly VOGEL, Christine and her husband Darrin CAIN. Loving Opa to Michael PETERSEN, Kristi (née PETERSEN) and her husband Daniel HUNTER, Richard and Matthew VOGEL, Olivia and Mitchell CAIN. Adored great-opa to Summer and Ashley HUNTER. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Josef VOGEL and his wife Maria and their family, his sister-in-law Elfriede VOGEL and her family, all from Germany and also by his in-laws, Tony and Ilse PANTELE and their family, Erich and Rosi PANTELE and their family, Ludwig and Monica PANTELE and their family, Regina PANTELE and her family, all from Germany. Emil is predeceased by his brother Otto VOGEL, his sister Margaret NOWOTNY and his brother-in-law Rudolf PANTELE. Emil was born in Czechoslovakia and then later lived in Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1957. He was a hard working man who had a passion for business and his company, Strato Steel. He loved travelling, fishing and being at the cottage. He was devoted to his family and was always there to help the people around him. He also greatly enjoyed being with his Friends, who we know will sadly miss him. Caring sister of Mag and Min, predeceased by her brother Tom and sisters Lavinea, Edith, Mary, Laura, Jane, and Tean. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Frances COOPER of London, on Friday, May 13, 2005, after a long illness which she faced with great courage, dignity and humour. She is survived by her mother Susan COOPER, her sister Susan Elizabeth, her brother Thomas COOPER and her niece Marika WOLFERT, her Oma and Opa Susan and Rudi HENNING, her great-grandmother Susan McNAUGHTON, her father Tom COOPER, her grandparents Jean HENRY, Robert and Marnie COOPER, her aunts and uncles Norman and Cindy HENNING, Jim and Maureen McNAUGHTON, Doug and Char GORRIE, Deb and Rick CARPENTER, Guenther and Ellen HENNING, as well as her cousins Jennifer, Tabbitha, Sabbrina and Marriah HENNING, Becky CARPENTER, Mikey, Taige, Julie, Graeme and Laura. She will be missed by her beloved pets, Jazmyn and Cosmo.
Angela touched and inspired all who knew her and she faced her fate with grace and dignity. We'd like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, in particular Dr. CAIRNEY, Mary-Anne and Melissa as well as every nurse, support staff and all the others who were so kind to her.
