BAMFORD, Roy
At the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, with his loved family by his side, Roy BAMFORD of Tillsonburg in his 82nd year, formerly of Dereham Centre. Born in Culloden, June 20, 1923, son of the late Joe BAMFORD and the late former Maude BURTON (both emigrated from England). Roy was always a gentleman who originally farmed at Dereham Centre, then was a dedicated employee at the Hawkin's Feed Co., Tillsonburg, and later the Central Supply at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (for over 20 years). Roy was a Life Member of the King Hiram Lodge #78 Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Royal Arch Masons Chapter #255, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #153 Tillsonburg. Roy answered the call to serve his country during World War 2 seeing active duty overseas throughout the war throughout the European Theatre (France, Belgium, Holland and then Germany) with the Lake Superior Regiment. Roy was an adherent to the First Baptist Church Tillsonburg.
Beloved husband and best friend for over 55 years to Margaret (MacLENNAN) BAMFORD. Much loved father and father-in-law of Coral (and her husband Wayne CADMAN) of Courtland. Proud "Poppa" of Craig CADMAN of Tillsonburg and Courtney CADMAN and her husband Greg MITCHELL of Courtland. Survived by a sister Phyllis HELSDON of Courtland and late James (1979) and a sister-in-law Cora BAMFORD of Tillsonburg and late Joe (2003) and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In keeping with Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are welcome to meet with the BAMFORD family on Saturday, March 5th at the First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg, from 12: 30 p.m. until 1: 30 p.m. Complete Memorial Service Saturday, March 5th at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church by Reverend Ike AMORIN, assisted by Reverend Bryan BUTCHER. Mrs. Anna Hain a resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at C.K.H.A. "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg, at the age of 86. Anna was born in Mohacich, Hungary and was a daughter of the late Peter and Veronica (SCHWARTZKOPF) STILLER. She had resided in the Wallaceburg area for the past 47 years. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg. Beloved wife of Paul HAIN and the late Bela TREBICS (1978.) Dear mother and mother-in-law of Bela "Bill" and Debra TREBICS of Wallaceburg, Jeno TREBICS of Wallaceburg and Theresa and Gusztav OMLOSI of Hungary. Dear step-mother of: Inge MYERS, Edith SCHOPF, Norbert HAIN, Veronica HALL, Joe TURBUCZ Jr., Irene RUSSELL and Liz KITZLER. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, many step grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The late Anna HAIN rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg until Friday, May 6, 2005 when the funeral mass was held from Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10: 30 a.m. with Fr. Greg BONIN, Celebrant. Mrs. Fran FRALEIGH presided at the organ. The church choir sang the mass. The pall was placed on the casket by her two sons. Police I.D. latest shooting victim
City's 37th fatal shooting this year
Victim falls outside North York plaza

A man was shot to death at a North York plaza last night, the latest in an unprecedented summer of fatal shootings.
Police arrived at the Yorkwoods Shopping Plaza, on Jane Street, south of Finch Ave. W. after getting calls about gunfire at 9: 45 p.m.
They found a man in his 20s sprawled in the parking lot in front of a pizzeria where he was pronounced dead by paramedics. He was shot in the chest.
This morning, police identified the victim as Sureshkumar KANAGARATNAM, 28, of Toronto.
Clara McDOWELL, a neighbourhood resident, began to cry as she recalled what happened.
"I've never seen anything like this before in my life," she said. She was with her neighbours sitting outside their townhouse behind the plaza when they heard the shots.
Last summer, a man was shot to death at the same spot.
It is also an area that has seen several shootings this year, including the drive-by shooting of 4-year-old Shaquan CADOUGAN, who was hit three times in front of his Driftwood Ave., about two blocks away.
This is also the second fatal shooting in four days in the Jane St. and Driftwood Ave. area.
On Saturday, Andre BURNETT, 24, died in a flurry of gunshots while running across a footbridge over Driftwood, just a few hundred metres from Jane St. It is the 55th homicide of the year, and the 37th fatal shooting. That's 10 more fatal shootings than all of last year.
