Charles Edward of Saint Thomas, on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Gwen (ERNSHAW) BURLEIGH (1998) and dear brother of Gertrude and her husband Victor YEAMAN of London, Clarence and his wife Mila BURLEIGH of Shannonville, Ontario, Eleanor CUPIT of Brighton, Joyce and her husband Charles PETERBAUGH of Carrying Place and Leslie and his wife Marlene BURLEIGH of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Charles was born in Toronto on January 10, 1919. He worked for Consolidated Truck Lines. He served overseas during World War 2 in the Army Medical Corps and was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Loving aunt to Grant CASSAN (Carol), Sheila McCALLUM, Arlene BOURNE, Mary STEWARDSON, Lynne WARD (Robin), Jan LATINOVICH (Steve), Nancy CECCHETTO (Serge), Tom CASSAN (Doris), Jim CASSAN (Susan), and Vicki SMITH (Tom.) Audrey enjoyed her numerous great-nieces and nephews and was a guardian angel to great-great-nephews as well. Audrey was always active in their church, Victoria Village United in Toronto, and she and her husband enjoyed many summers at their cottage retreat. Peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in his 103rd year in Burlington. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Wela, and his brother Albert of Mississauga. Will be greatly missed by his daughter Violet BIELSKI of Oakville, his sister-in-law, Mary KOCON of Mississauga, his five grandchildren, their spouses and his eleven great grandchildren. From his rural roots in Poland, Joseph participated in the 1st World War, completed his duties with the Polish Army, then immigrated to Canada in 1926 where he succeeded as a painter, businessman and entrepreneur. Joseph was a long time resident of St. Catharines, Ontario, a skilled self taught artist and gardener, whose ability to make something from nothing was astounding, as was his awareness of the beauty around us all. "Dzadzi" was truly a gifted and special man and we all give thanks that he was with us for so long. He has left us quite a legacy. The family would like to express special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Mt. Nemo Christian Nursing Home for the loving care in his final years. A native of Chatham Township, he resided in Chatham-Kent all his life and served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945 on the H.M.C.S. Pictou. He is survived by his wife Christena (GILLESPIE) PUGH and his three children: Brenda CAMPBELL (and her husband Bernie) of Windsor, Vaughn PUGH (and his wife Martine) of Chatham and Patricia PLELI (and her husband Phil) of Windsor. Born on July 20th, 1906 in Allandale, (Barrie) Ontario, Morey is remembered by his family and Friends as a kind, gentle, warm, loving man. He was the epitome of a gentleman: a natty dresser, well read, and an extensive traveler. He loved a good joke, a fine cigar, his garden and first and foremost being with his family. Proud of his Canadian and British heritage, Morey served in the Toronto Scottish 48th Highlanders Reserve Regiment during World War 2. Morey will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Dick and wife Jennifer, his daughter Margot TREVELYAN; grandchildren Sandra TREVELYAN, Ellen▼ and husband Don BURTON, Jeremy BURMAN, Jacquie BURMAN and her partner Greg BONNIE; great-grandchildren Kristen, Emma, Brandon and Gregory. His wife Margaret▼ DANCE, sister Margaret BOULT, and brother Hazen Edge predeceased him. Morey graduated from Trinity College, University of Toronto as a pharmacist in 1934. He had a long career in pharmacy both in dispensing and management. His final retirement was from the Queensway Hospital pharmacy in 1981 at age 75. Recently Morey resided at Southbrook Retirement Residence in Brampton where he made many Friends with both residents and staff. Friends may call on Monday, August 8th, from 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Hilda was a longtime employee of Philips Electronics before her retirement in 1986, and a deeply committed member of St. David's Presbyterian Church, Scarborough, where she served in various capacities for almost 50 years. Famous for her love of music, flowers and hats, Hilda will not soon be forgotten by all those who knew her.
