He is succeeded by many cousins, of which Dr. William ROBERTSON and Robert HARRIS were among his best Friends, as was his brother-in-law, Alfred HARRIS. Eleven▼ grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also succeed him. All of his brothers and sisters, Queen Alice Pearl (HARRIS), Francis James, Antoinette Ellen (ROBERTSON), Emma Edith, Lily Willys (COOK), and William CORDINGLEY; and also Ethel (Harris) ELKERTON and his eldest son, Bill (Robert William Francis), predecease him. Devoted and loving husband of Eleanor (SANDERS) for 61 years. Dear father of Douglas (Jeannette), Suzanne, James (Jerri-Lynn) and Bruce. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Glenn, Sarah, Jeffery, Ellen, Ross, Jimmy, Kelly, Scott, Jonathon and Jessica. Greatgrandfather to Hanna, Cassandra and Nikolas. Predeceased by brother Jack, sisters Beatrice and Margaret, and his son-in-law Bruce DOE.
Don enjoyed a long and fulfilling life. He was a World War 2 Royal Canadian Air Force veteran, sales manager at Dominion Corset Company, Past-President of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada, and Past-President of Humber Valley Kiwanis Club. His passion was touring throughout Canada and the U.S. in his various antique and classic cars with Eleanor and family. Many lasting and cherished Friendships were made throughout the years, especially the “Wellesley Wanderers”. Don's old car Friends are invited to bring their special vehicles to the funeral on Wednesday. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Kensington Village for their Friendship, kindness and care. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Jessie Marion (McLAUGHLIN) MUNDY (2004.) Loving father of Terry and his wife Deanna MUNDY, Marilyn and her husband Eldon KROHN, all of Brigden. Murratte was a trainer for the Hunter Safety Program, Honourary member of the Brigden Fire Department, Member of the local #663 Steamfitters and Plumbers Union, Past member of the Moore Parks and Recreation, and Works Superintendent for Moore Township for many years. Peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle following heart surgery, Mrs. Winnifred M. (LUPSON) SMITH of Saint Thomas, loving wife of George A. SMITH for 52 years, passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus on Monday, August 29, 2005, in her 72nd year. Mother of Linda TAILOR/TAYLOR- BALL of Saint Thomas, Jim SMITH (Rose "Romie") of Guelph and Karen SEALY (Michael) of London. Grandmother of John TAILOR/TAYLOR (Lisa) of London, George BALL of Saint Thomas and Mitchell, Logan and Rachel SEALY, all of London. Sister of Joyce COWIN of London, Elizabeth UDELL (Bob) of Saint Thomas, Diane DURBRIDGE (Bill) of Dutton and Sharon ROWLANDS (Brian) of Sparta. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in London, March 11, 1934, daughter of the late Frederick and Clara BULLOCK) LUPSON, she lived all her life in the London and Saint Thomas area. Winnie was a retired stenographer for the Saint Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and a former employee for the C.N.O. Railroad, the Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. Saint Thomas Assembly Plant, the S.T.E.G.H. and the Royal Bank of Saint Thomas. A very active member of the community, she volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Winnie also enjoyed the outdoors especially hiking and fishing. Ottawa -- Mary BULLOCK of Ottawa writes about Patrick CARDY, whose obituary appeared on May 4.
In 1997, my husband, David and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and I wanted to give him an anniversary present that was unusual and would commemorate our mutual love of music. I also wanted it to be a surprise. I approached Julian ARMOUR, the artistic director of the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival who arranged for me to commission a piece of music from Patrick CARDY. I donated a sum to the festival and, in turn, Patrick CARDY received his remuneration for the commission. The work was based on Toad of Toad Hall, the children's classic by Kenneth Grahame, and was about Toad and his love of cars -- I always considered my husband a latter-day Toad. Patrick CARDY was a joy in his complete commitment to this work and to keeping it a secret. It was performed in one of the concerts devoted to Canadian music. It was introduced by Patrick CARDY and, to my husband's complete astonishment, by myself. On March 11, it was performed again at the special concert of the composer's music. It is indicative of the warmth of his personality that he and his family became our Friends. I am overjoyed that there is to be a concert in his memory at this year's festival, which runs from July 23 to August 6.

BLAKE, Beatrice May
At the age of 95 and in complete peace, May BLAKE passed away on October 19, 2005. May was care-giver extraordinaire to many children who remember her fondly and with love throughout their adulthood. She was trained as a nanny in England and joined her first family as a caregiver as a young teenager, no older than 15. She emigrated to Canada about 1932. Throughout her early years as a nanny in Canada, May befriended and looked out for other British nannies who would come to Toronto on two-year visas to care for the children of Canadian families. May brought them into the community of other nannies, made sure that they became acquainted with Toronto and sent them home again at the end of two years with farewell parties.
The adults for whom she cared as children and that she called "her charges" owe their values of honesty, integrity, generosity towards others and good humour to her teachings as they grew from infancy through childhood into eventual maturity. May was always proud of the achievements of "her charges" and followed their successes in life, sending congratulations their way and still providing advice as they made their path through life.
May has been a staunch supporter of Saint Margaret's Anglican Church for more than 70 years. Up until two years ago, she was a regular supporter of Saint Margaret's annual Christmas bazaar and rummage sales. She was a frequent visitor to the sick and shut-ins of her congregation. May BLAKE's life was a happy and fulfilled one.
May will be fondly remembered by her many Friends at her Church, including Muriel CAESAR, Len and Jean SOUTH, Trevor and Muriel McCONNELL and Jean FRASER.
She will also be lovingly remembered by "her charges" currently living in Canada, Edward BULMAN and his sister Elizabeth, Nadine, Jon and Paul LEVIN, Sean and Kalen McCOWAN, Denise DELLIO, and Alexandra and Laura ROBINSON. Jean SHAWN, George LEVIN, Anna JOHNSTON (formerly McCOWAN), Perry and Rae DELLIO, Michael ROBINSON and Dr. Gail ROBINSON, and all remember the fine and loving care May BLAKE provided for their children and the tremendous contribution she made to their family life.

SPIERS, Ernest
Passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, Monday, November 14th, 2005. Ernest Leslie SPIERS of Markdale in his 87th year. Born in Windsor, Ontario, he was the son of the late Reginald and Maud (WADE) SPIERS. Predeceased by his wife Ella (BULMER.) Survived by six sons: Daniel, David, Ronald, John, Michael, and Robert; and their families, including fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and companion Inez PLESTER. He was a veteran of the second world war serving in Ontario's Essex Scottish Regiment as a bandsman. In 1952 he reenlisted in The Royal Canadian Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier H.M.C.S. Magnificent as bandmaster. He attended The Royal Marine School of Music in England and earned the degree of Licentiate of The Royal Academy of Music in military conducting. Returning to Canada he held various positions including bandmaster of Stadaconna band in Halifax and staff officer Royal Canadian Reserve bands based in Toronto. He retired from the Royal Canadian Navy in 1968 holding the rank of chief warrant officer. Upon retirement he completed a second career as instrumental music teacher in North York Junior High School, Toronto. He retired to the Markdale area in 1984 where he pursued his interests of hunting, fishing and especially gardening. He was a member of Virgin Lodge #3 Halifax, and Past Master of Hiram Lodge #490 Markdale Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons G.R.C. Friends may call at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, Thursday from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., where Hiram Lodge #490 will officiate at a funeral service on Friday November 18th, 2005 at 7: 00 p.m. Cremation followed by broadcast at sea. (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Monday, July 4 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Highland Creek, 200 Morrish Rd. Surrounded by her loving family, Marie Gertrude CALLAGHAN (nee ELLIOT/ELLIOTT) was taken into the hands of our Lord on Wednesday, October 5th, 2005 at 81 years of age, at St. Michael's Hospital. Beloved wife of Thomas Michael CALLAGHAN. Cherished mother of Ann Marie ASH (Henry), Mary BULPIT, Rosemary ADAM/ADAMS, Lucy SCHNAIDER, Peter CALLAGHAN (Sue), Gerald CALLAGHAN (Anne), Margaret FRASER (Tom), Patrick CALLAGHAN (Jennifer.) Treasured grandmother of Joanna (Paul), Lisa (Greg), Becky, Sean (Lina), Colleen, Lawrence, Kathleen, Melissa, Angela (Chris), Christopher, Heather, Lisa, Christian, Samantha, Amanda, Shawna (Adam), Michelle, Jeffrey, Matthew, Kathryn, Riley and Rory. Specially loved by great-grandchildren Zoe, Cody, Tayen, Saige, Jayden, Sebastian and Madison. Loving daughter of the late Henry ELLIOT/ELLIOTT and Marie Anne RAES. Marie was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish for 80 years. She dedicated her life to family, the Church and her community. Marie was a long-time vocalist and organist at the Church, a member of the Catholic Women's League, a Girl Guide Leader and District Commissioner and Officer Sister in the Order of Saint John since 1974. She enjoyed her music, playing the piano, flower arranging and spending time with her family. Marie gave the great gift of herself to all those who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitors will be received at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Sunday and Monday, October 9th and 10th from 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9: 00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Margaret Queen of Scotland Catholic Church, 222 Ridley Boulevard (Avenue Rd. and Wilson), Toronto on Tuesday, October 11th at 10: 00 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. BULZIS, Cosmo (October 25, 1959-March 13, 2005)
Cancer ended the vibrant life of 45 year old Cosmo BULZIS on March 13, 2005, but his spirit lives on in the family and Friends he inspired and left behind in the final years of his life. Beloved son of Giovanni and Vincenza. Dear brother to Mike, Mary and her husband Domenic. Dear uncle to Joe and Teresa TRIUMBARI. Special thanks to his aunt Carm who was with him day and night, to cousin Dia, his sweetheart Gina and all family and Friends. A special thanks to his buddy Dr. KIRSHEN in Palliative Care, whom Cosmo adored.
