Frances "Fran" passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Survived by her three daughters: Judi (Brian) Dew, Jan (Peter) WOOLSEY, Deb (Mark) LEDWON and seven grandchildren: Carly, Christopher, Jordan, Cody, Shaun, Tyler and Riley all of Kelowna and her loving extended family. Sadly predeceased by the love of her life, husband "Jimmy". A special thanks to Mom's caregivers Rhonda, Wanda and Gwen and to Dr's CLARK and STEVENS. Fran was an amazing woman of style and grace. She was the best mom in the world and will be sadly missed by family and special Friends. Dearly loved father of Helen Jeanne BAUMAN/BOWMAN (John) of London and John Laverne, of Edmonton. Loved father-in-law of Anne PRESSEY (Bob SPERO) of Edmonton. Phin's five grandchildren Steven BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Debra) Bracebridge, David BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Karen) Courtice, Bonnie BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Oshawa), Heather SCOTT (PRESSEY), Edmonton, John Paul PRESSEY (Tracy) Vancouver will remember him every day. His eight great-grandchildren Carlie, Sidney, Parker Richard PHINEAS and Molly BAUMAN/BOWMAN, Alexander and Andrew SCOTT, Bailey and Cooper BAUMAN/BOWMAN, will miss their special "Papa." Phin will also be remembered by his loving church family, at Avondale Zion, United Church, Tillsonburg.
Phin was the son of Oren and Laila PRESSEY (SHEPHARD) and was predeceased by his parents and brothers Norman, and Keith and sister Marie BOWES. Survived by a brother-in-law Murray BOWES and a sister-in-law Elva HANSEN and many nieces and nephews.
Among his many accomplishments, Phin was Grand Master, of the Springfield Masonic Lodge, a Councillor, Deputy Reeve, and Reeve of Dereham Township, and was active on several Library Boards. He served on The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority, for over forty-one years. He was the livestock evaluator for his township for many years. Phin bought and sold livestock from his Cloverdale farm for over forty years. Visitation will be at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway, in Tillsonburg, on Friday April 22, from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and again from 12:30 until the Funeral Service at 2: 00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2005, by Reverend Margaret MURRAY of Avondale Zion United Church, Tillsonburg. Interment to follow in Delmer Cemetery. Long-time employee of the Ford Motor Company of Canada. At age 88 years, died on March 7, 2005 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Boyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Isobel (Jo), daughters Deborah, Leslie, and Tracy; grandchildren Benjamin and Alyson; and sisters Pegge BOWES, Bette McLAREN and Beverly LANNIN. Unexpectedly and painlessly passed away on Friday, June 24 in her home in Port Colborne, Ontario in her 79th year. Beautiful and cherished wife of the late W. Vernon, and loving mother of Cheryl (Bob BEATTY); Eleanor; Grant (Linda PRICE); and, Alice (Michael MacMITCHELL.) Thoughtful grandmother of Chris BEATTY, Jennifer BEATTY, Owain BARKER and Clare BARKER; she provided them a lovely cottage for their early years. Dear sister of George and Pat COOK (London, Ontario), Dorothy LACKIE (Drummondville, P.Q.,) Reid and Sue COOK (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.,) and Stuart and Emily WHITNEY (Victoria, British Columbia). Marnie was the elder daughter of the late George and Dorothy GILMOUR of Hamilton. She leaves an adoring and devoted husband David; loving children Lynne, Richard and Andy; daughters-in-law Shelley FISHER and Jill DUNKLEY; granddaughter Gwyneth FISHER sister Gwen LAURIE and her husband Jack; nephew Craig BOWIE niece Joan EXLEY and her husband Jon; great nieces Kate and Tessa EXLEY; other family members in Canada; David's family in the United Kingdom; and many dear Friends. An exemplary person, universally admired, Marnie will be remembered for her selflessness, generosity, sense of duty, easy laughter, graciousness, open mind, and love of learning. She and David shared a love of mountains and the outdoors, undertaking many memorable adventures together, the last in the months just before her death. Marnie faced the possibility of death with great equanimity, expressing gratitude for the blessing of a rich and full life. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Sister Elizabeth Merita (Rita) SULLIVAN, S.O.S. died peacefully at Providence Health Centre, Scarborough, Ontario, on Thursday, October 27, 2005, in the 60th year of her Religious Life. Born in Ennismore, Ontario, May 27, 1913, she was one of the ten children born to Denis SULLIVAN and Gertrude MOLONEY. She was predeceased by her sisters, Florence HEALEY, Loretta SULLIVAN, Helen MacKELLER, Mary HOLLAND, Dorothy BOWIE and by her brothers, Joseph and John. She is survived by her sisters Agnes (Leonard) O'CONNOR and Theresa (Lloyd) ABRAHAM. Entering the Sisters of Service in Toronto in 1945, she served in the Residence and Immigration Ministry in Toronto, Ontario, Halifax, Nova Scotia and Edmonton, Alberta. As a Registered Nurse she served in Health Care in Saint John's Hospital, Edson, Alberta and in Peace River Auxiliary Hospital in Peace River, Alberta. On retiring from the active ministry, she returned to the Motherhouse in Toronto and provided nursing support services to our Sisters at Scarborough Retirement Centre. Sister Rita will be remembered for her guidance and support for the young women in her care, her welcome and practical assistance to Newcomers to Canada, and her compassionate care for the sick and elderly. Wherever she served she found creative ways to assist the sick, the poor, the isolated and the lonely, bringing peace, tranquility and love to all.
