Dear father of Nellie DEWIT and husband Gerrit of Dorchester, Klaas REYNEVELD and wife Grace of McAlpin, Florida, Corrie SCHEELE and husband Ron of Wallacetown, Jack REYNEVELD and wife Wendy of Harrietsville, Ann VANDEN BOOGAARD and husband Piet of Gorrie and Geri TEN KATE and friend Brian of Glencoe. Grandfather to 30 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother to Jan, Niek, Gerrit and Ans VANDEN KNAAP. Predeceased by a granddaughter Jocelyn DEWIT and 2 brothers Dirk and Piet.
Gerard was born in Koudekerk aan de Rijn, The Netherlands, on October 27, 1921 to the late Klaas and Pieternella (DEWIT) REYNEVELD. Gerard was a dairy farmer in Sheffield, Ontario from 1965-71 and at Harriestville from 1971 until his retirement in 1993. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Bethel United Reformed Church, Talbot Street East, Aylmer, on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Mrs. Clara F. CROTHERS a resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Friday, July 1, 2005 at C.K.H.A. "Sydenham Campus", at the age of 101. Clara was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was a daughter of the late Michael A. and Anna Maria (DAMON) WISE. She had resided in Wallaceburg all of her maried life (76 years) and was a member of Trinity United Church, as well as a former member of the Wallaceburg Horticultural Society. Beloved wife of the late A.J. Bert CROTHERS (1967.) Dear mother of Hortense (Honey) DAWE. Loving grandmother of Penny ROOSE and Peter DRIESSEN of Port Lambton and Sandy and Peter VANDE VELDE of Wallaceburg. Great grandmother of Heather and Jeff FIELDS, Mandy ROOSE and partner Larry MARTIN and Eric VANDE VELDE. Great great grandmother of Zachary FIELDS. Predeceased by her sisters Laurie, Mary and Hortense and by her brothers Michael, Frank and Arthur. Also predeceased by a son-in-law Robert DAWE (2000) and a granddaughter LeeAnn (1964.) Mrs. Barbara MYERS presided at the organ and Mrs. Lois MYERS sang "Precious Lord and Take My Hand." Pall bearers were Peter VANDE VELDE, Peter DRIESSEN, Jeff FIELDS, Larry MARTIN, Doug BABBITT and Brian BOOK. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. CHESHIRE, James Reynolds " Reyn" (1921-2005)
James Reynolds (Reyn) CHESHIRE, P.Eng., with his family at his side, passed away quietly at Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, November 10, 2005. Reyn was born April 30, 1921 in Toronto, Ontario. He was a wonderful husband and father. Reyn is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ellen and daughters Joanne (Rob) JOHNSON, Janis and Jill. His sister-in-law, Patricia BOON and brother-in-law, Dr. Frank COULTER, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins will also remember him fondly. His best Friends, Hobbes, Lucy and Sadie, also survive him. His sister, Bernice COULTER and his cousin, Douglas BOON, predeceased him. Reyn proudly served as a Radar Mechanic, also known as a Radio Mechanic, in the Royal Canadian Air Force "Porcupine Squadron" during World War 2, while stationed in England and Scotland. Those Mechanics, such as Reyn, provided an indispensable service in defence of this country and one of which the Air Force significantly depended. Reyn was one of many Canadians involved in D-Day. During the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games, Reyn was very proud to serve as a volunteer and truly enjoyed his experience. Reyn belonged to the Al Ahzar Shriner's Temple - Tin Lizzy Corps, and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved to play golf, as well as fish and curl. Reyn also loved to watch his favourite teams The Calgary Flames and The Toronto Blue Jays. Reyn will be greatly missed by all who knew, respected and loved him. Predeceased by her parents Malcolm CAMPBELL and May BROOKS, brothers Dave, Jim and Lee CAMPBELL and brothers-in-law Ray KIDD, Howard KIDD, Don JOHNSTON, Gordon SMITH and Don DOUEY. Bess▲ was a graduate of Victoria Hospital ('33) but her real vocation was that of Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother extraordinaire. She supported each of us with her love, her caring and unlimited support. Her family always came first. She had a great sense of fun and a wonderful laugh. For many years Bess was active in the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and was a member of St, John's Anglican Church (Sarnia). Friends may call at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home, 102 Victoria St. N., Sarnia on Friday, September 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Saint John's Anglican Church, 332 Devine St. at Margaret on Saturday, September 3rd at 11: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice or the the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, 130 Spadina Avenue, Suite 302, Toronto, Ontario M5V 2L4. Peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg, Marion Elsie HARVEY in her 93rd year. Cherished wife of the late David Beveridge HARVEY (1998.) Always cheerful and forward looking, she will be dearly missed by her son Ian and his wife Iris of Tillsonburg; sisters Winnifred ROWORTH and her late husband Maurice of Kitchener; Margaret ARMSTRONG and her late husband Jim of Burlington; Eleanor BROOM and her husband Walter of Hayward, California; Jack EDWARDS and his late wife Ruth of Toronto. She was adored by her two granddaughters Kristine VILELA and Tanya BOONE; great-grand_sons Domenic; Mikey; Brandon, and Cody, and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Marion was born and lived in Toronto, retired to Orillia, and resided in Tillsonburg these last seven years. A Memorial Service for Marion will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Saint John's Anglican Church, Tillsonburg at 3 p.m with Reverend Richard JONES officiating. Special thanks to the staff of Maple Manor Nursing Home for their devoted care and loving support over the past seven years.
