Sadly missed by his cousins, Douglas HOGG (Ethel) of London, Virginia SHIRKEY (Clarence) of Black River, Michigan, and Gerald BLOYE (Lorrain) of Pilo, Ohio. Fondly remembered by his many close Friends. Woodrow served in the Canadian Army during World War 2 and he was a member of the Mocha Shrine, the Jesters Group, the HiLo Shrine and a lifetime member of Saint John's Lodge #20. Gertrude Elizabeth (HOYLES) of Wallaceburg and formerly of Chatham, passed away at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg. Born in Tupperville, 83 years ago, daughter of the late C. Arthur HOYLES and Bertha May (WHITMARSH.) Predeceased by her beloved husband F. Lyle STEVENS (1998) and her dear son Mark Alexander STEVENS (February 2005.) Surviving are a loving son Philip L. STEVENS and his wife Joyce of Sarnia, her cherished grandchildren Amanda and Andrew. Fond sister of Eileen and her husband John SKIPPER of Chatham. Sister in law of Rex BISHOP, Kay and Ronald CARR, Maxine and Norman ABRAMS all of London. Lovingly remembered by several close nieces and nephews. Age 93 of Chatham formerly of Dresden passed away Wednesday November 2, 2005 at Thamesview Lodge, Chatham. He was born in Camden Township son of the late George and Hattie (LYNCH) FORSHEE. He had farmed in the Tupperville area for many years. Austin was a member of Dresden Community Church, member and Past master of Sydenham Masonic Lodge # 255 Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Past Grand Steward of Grand Lodge, member of O.E.S. and a former member and treasurer of Zion United Church Tupperville. His wife Ethel (BIRD) FORSHEE predeceased in 2004. Surviving are two daughters: Nancy and Jim BLACKBURN of Wallaceburg, Rosemary NICHOLLS and Lorne JONES of Victoria, British Columbia; one son Robert FORSHEE of Chatham; five grandchildren: Brad and Diane BLACKBURN, Beth BLACKBURN and Shay REISE, Barbara BLACKBURN and Todd HOLMES, Robert FORSHEE and William FORSHEE. Visitors will be received at the Thomas L. BIRD, Jessie (née FLETT) (1912-2004)
Nancy and Susan announce with regret the death of their mother in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia on Thursday December 30, 2004. "Art is long, life is short' Dad wrote on the chimney of one of the houses they built, and music education was the driving force of their life together. Certainly, Jessie's support for Laughton's enthusiasm was absolute.
She will be remembered for her love of politics, of reading (Tom Harpur, Robertson Davies, E.B. White, always with copious notes in the margins!), her support for art and artists in Annapolis, being a founding member of the arts council; and for her love of family: her parents Annie and William FLETT, her sister Edna, her brothers Jim and George, and of course her beloved grand_son Marc.
Friends who wish to do so may contribute to an arts scholarship to be established in memory of Jessie and Laughton, bobunger@hotmail.com. Jessie's family plans a celebration at home in Port Royal in their honour during the summer of 2005. She died at peace in her sleep and she lived with grace.

BIRD, John▼ Irvine, Q.C.
Age 87, died very peacefully at home September 17, 2005 surrounded by his family.
John was born September 23, 1917 in Wimbledon, England and completed his high school education at Shawnigan Lake School and commerce degree at University of British Columbia and studied law at Dalhousie University. He played rugby for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds and was honoured to be invited to play fullback with the British Columbia All Stars against the New Zealand All Blacks in 1935. When World War 2 broke out he enlisted with the Canadian Navy on loan to the British Navy where he achieved the rank of lieutenant. He served on the destroyers "Wolverine", "Trinidad" and "Argonaut".
After the war he returned to Vancouver with his family and articled in law. He practised maritime law with J.V. Clyne at Campney Owen Murphy and Owen. He and the Hon. Walter Owen were founding partners of Owen Bird. John was a pre-eminent counsel in maritime law, was appointed Queen's Counsel and on many occasions appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. He served as Chair of Maritime Law of the Canadian Bar Association, Vice-President of the Canadian Maritime Law Association, President of the Plimsoll Club and was appointed to the Vancouver Police Commission.
Predeceased▲ by his parents, Eva and Chief Justice Henry BIRD, his brother William and sister Eve (HOCKIN.) Survived and dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Molly BIRD (née McCALLUM,) sons Michael BIRD (Carolyn▲▼) and Brian BIRD (Lora) and daughter Barbara KLOPFENSTEIN (Albrecht,) grandchildren Shelley DESBRISAY, Blake KLOPFENSTEIN, Hallie and Devon BIRD.
Memorial Service to be held on Friday, September 23rd at 2: 00 p.m. at Saint Mary's (Kerrisdale) Anglican Church, 2490 West 37th Avenue, Vancouver with a reception to follow at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Club - 1630 West 15th Ave., Vancouver. Passed away peacefully in her 102nd year at Westshore Village, Port▼ Perry,▼ Ontario▼ Daughter of the late Alice T. McDONALD and Senator John A. McDONALD. Predeceased by her husbands Charles BIRD and James COLITON, brothers Jack, Derek and Gordon and sister Greta. She leaves behind her brother Laird. She will be deeply missed by her son John BAIRD, daughter Barbara MEGARRY and son-in-law Roy. Remembered with love by her grandchildren Andrew, Kevin and Lianne MEGARRY and great grandchildren Tanya, Deanna, Gregory, Ryan, Mathew and Carina.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia early years in Amhearst, Nova Scotia and early married life in Shediac, New Brunswick. Moved to Toronto in 1939. She kept her sense of humour and style to the end.
Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home Uxbridge, 23 Main St. (905) 852-3073 on Friday October 28, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Parish, 70 Toronto St. N. HARVEY, Allan John
Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at his home in White Rock, British Columbia, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Allan was born in Stanley, New Brunswick, on November 8, 1948 to the late John and Betty (BIRD) HARVEY. Allan spent most of his school years in Ottawa, Ontario, where he graduated from Algonquin Business College. After college, Allan moved to Toronto and spent many successful years as a senior executive in the telecommunications industry. During these years he also completed the Executive M.B.A. Program at Western University in London, Ontario. In the years following, Allan and his wife of 23 years settled in White Rock, British Columbia. He spent many years in business consulting as well as helping his wife operate Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating in Vancouver. Allan will be greatly missed for his outstanding enthusiasm, passion for life, his family, his animals and of course.... Golf! He is survived by his loving wife Deborah TAILOR/TAYLOR and his 2 daughters, Tarrah HARVEY of White Rock and Julie STAHLE (Mark) of Brampton, as well as his son John HARVEY (Andria) of Mississauga. He will also be greatly missed by his 2 sisters, Carol DICKSON/DIXON (Ron) and Joan HARVEY (Paul LEROUX) of Ottawa and Montreal, and many relatives living in British Columbia, New Brunswick, and across Canada. John was a life-long member of Brechin United Church at which he served many roles including sharing his love of music in the choir. He was a faithful member of the Murray Masonic Lodge in Beaverton at which he celebrated his 50-year membership in 2002. His life of service included the Beaverton Fair Board and volunteering as a driver for the Cancer Society of Ramara Township. His two greatest passions were his family and the love of the land and his family farm. John's kindness and joy will be remembered fondly by his many Friends and relatives around the world. He will be greatly missed by good Friends Willo and Paul DINOVO, Red▼ and Katherine HOBSON, Vaughn and Monica TAILOR/TAYLOR, and by his beloved Mister Cuddles. Highlights of his varied career included: General Manager Canadian Retail Hardware Association; General Manager Home Show; General Manager Canadian National Exhibition; President Marwill Inc.; Executive Director Ontario Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association; and past President of Cedarhurst Golf Club in Beaverton, Ontario. There will be a visitation at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton (705-426-5777) on Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 1: 30 p.m. in St. Paul's Anglican Church, 383 Osborne, Beaverton, Ontario. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.

After a valiant struggle with cancer on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Altamont Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Ernest Herbert (Hugh.) Loving mother to Janet Louise SELLWOOD and husband Michael and Mary Ellen BIRD and spouse Grant ANKENMAN. Cherished grandma to Emma Louise, and Erica Lillian. Predeceased by her siblings Irene, Janet and William (Bill). Helen will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and Friends.
