Dr. Melvin Ross BELSHEIM passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, August 1, 2005 at Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, in London, Ontario, at the age of 60. Beloved husband of Helen (BLACKWELL) BELSHEIM. Dearly loved father of Mark, Claire and Eric BELSHEIM. Dear brother of Judy and Eddie SEMENZIN of Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia, Allan and Yasuko BELSHEIM of Edmonton, Alberta and Carol and Darrell COLYER of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Cherished uncle of Mika and Aya BELSHEIM, Nicholas and Tj COLYER and Torstein and Christi COLYER. Great uncle of Abigael and Bryce COLYER. Mel was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Lucile BELSHEIM formerly of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Visitation will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road, North, London, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2005. BARNES, Walter Harlow
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Walter BARNES, who died in his home at Mountain Lake, Minden, Ontario, on Sunday October 9, 2005. Born in Toronto, August 7, 1935, Walter began his teaching career at Wilcox Lake, detoured to the University of Toronto to earn his Mus. Bac., then continued as a Music Teacher for the Toronto Board of Education from which he retired in 1991. While at U of T, Walter led the Hart House Glee Club and the University of Toronto Chorus. While teaching, Walter was the organist and choirmaster at St. Bart's Anglican Church, Toronto for many years, training them at church, taking them on tours, including Expo 67. After retirement, he moved to his home on Mountain Lake, became the organist at St. Paul's, Minden, and founded the Brass Quintet of Minden. Through the years he has arranged music for choirs, written books on the playing of Band instruments, in concert with the Canadian Brass, and taught thousands of students the wonders of music. He was a faithful Christian and Anglican, believing that through music we can share in the music of heaven. He leaves one son, Terry KOSTIUK (married to Maureen,) his brother the Reverend Ron BARNES and wife Beverley and their children Cathie, Heather, Bonnie, and Charles; and many Friends including Fr. Donald BELWAY and Archbishop David SOMERVILLE, and last, but not least, his faithful canine companion, Seamus. Requiem at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, Minden, October 14th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the W.H.B. Fund for Music Endowment.

Peacefully, at Meadowcroft Place, Mississauga, on the morning of June 7, 2005. Born January 23, 1911. Predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Velma (née GRASS,) his father Albert Edward BELYEA and mother Chloe Ella NEWLOVE, and sister Ella TEASDALE. He will be sadly missed by dear wife Vail, loving daughter and son-in-law Carol and Wally HEGGUM, and grandchildren Greg and Susan MAGUIRE, and his many Friends and relatives. Graduate of Humberside Collegiate Institute, and the University of Toronto (Civil Engineering). Employed by the Province of Ontario in fire prevention and medical engineering, and later was Director of the first air pollution control authority of Metropolitan Toronto. As president of the Air and Waste Management Association he influenced the U.S. government to create the Environmental Pollution Association. An avid bridge player, he won several Ontario and international tournaments. Enjoyed tennis, and took up flying of small aircraft at the age of 81. Our family would like to thank Dr. Michael GITTERMAN, and the kind staff at Meadowcroft Place (Constitution) for their wonderful care. Norm TYLER of Acton (formerly of Hillsburgh, Erin, Mississauga and Lachine, Quebec), passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital, on Thursday, October 6, 2005, in his 83rd year. Loving husband of Nellie (CLINTON) and the late Betty, father of Susan SHEPHERD of Mississauga, Rick and his wife Diane of Guelph, Colin and his wife Shanlee of Mississauga, Monica and her husband David BELYK of Barrie, and a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Norm was the step-father of Stephen CLINTON and his wife Paulette, Sandra and her husband Dan HOWEY, and grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Clifford of Calgary and was predeceased by his brothers Russell and Charles. The family will receive Friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home "Shoemaker Chapel," 55 Mill Street East, Acton, on Saturday, October 8th from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Legion tribute will follow at nine o'clock. RUSSELL, Robert James
On Sunday, May 1st, 2005 at the William Osler Health Centre, Brampton, after a brief illness, Bob, in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Marlene (WATSON) for 37 years. Cherished father of Robert "Louie" RUSSELL and his wife Carolyn (MALONEY.) Loving grandfather of James Robert RUSSELL and Baby Angel Robert Patrick (April 15th to April 18th, 2005). Robert is lovingly remembered by his mother Violet RUSSELL and is survived by his sister Susan BARBER and her husband Richard, nephew Scott and niece Sharlene and her husband Alex CLARKE. He was predeceased by his father Robert James in 1976. He will be affectionately remembered by his mother-in-law Ann (WATSON) MASTERS, Marlene's sisters and brother, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews as well as the Watson family. Friends Dr. David JOLLEY, Dr. Paul BELZYCKI, Howard ROY and in spirit Nicolas Harvey were at his side in his final hours. Bob's contribution and involvement at the York Skeet Club for over 20 years as a lifetime member and past director will be missed by his many Friends.
