Peacefully surrounded by her family in her own home, passed away on Friday, February 11th, 2005, at the age of 77.
Born July 12, 1927 in Ottawa, Ontario. Beloved wife of 55 years to Robert (Bob) BEARDSLEY. Mother▼ of Ruth, Phyllis, John and Robin. Grandmother of Lindsay, Adam, Hunter, Tommy, Sam, Ross, Ian, Becca, Stephen, Beth and Nicholas. Barbara worked tirelessly in the community and the New Democratic Party, she was a wife, mother, sister, feminist, mentor, librarian, researcher, gardener and friend of many. She worked at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Metro Toronto School Board, University of the West Indies and Onteris. Graduated from U of T, 1949, Honours B.A. English and 1962 Bachelors in Library Sciences.
A Funeral Service will be held at South Bay United Church, on Monday, February 14th at 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at The Garden Chapel of The Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road (Between Bayshore and Baseline Roads), Nepean on Wednesday, February 16th at 3 p.m. If desired, donations to the New Democratic Party, Friends of Sandbanks Park or the Ann Farewell Library would be appreciated by the family (cheques only please).

Marion Meredith BEARDSWORTH, 87, of Royal Court in Riverview passed away at her residence Tuesday, March 29, 2005 with her family by her side. Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Janet (PATTERSON) SCARLETT. A retired teacher, she was a member of the University Women's Club, the Retired Teachers Association and the Literacy Council. A graduate of the University of Moncton, she received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. She also graduated from the Normal School Teachers College in Toronto. Being an advocate of women's rights, literacy and early childhood education, she founded the first kindergarten in Pine Glen and was honoured to have the library at the Frank L. Bowser School named after her. She is survived by daughters, Scarlett ORR (Douglas) and Barbara BEARDSWORTH; sons, Peter BEARDSWORTH (Donna), Paul BEARDSWORTH (Cathy) and Allan BEARDSWORTH (Bonnie;) daughter-in-law, Karolyn KELLY; son-in-law, George MacDONALD; grandchildren, Chris, Allison, Adam, Ian, Derrick, Rebecca, Emily, Martha, Katherine, Olivia and Nicholas; great grand_son, Daelin. Richard started his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia and remained there until he moved back to Thunder Bay with his new wife Pat and joined the Port Arthur Police Force in 1941. He was quickly promoted to detective and reached the rank of Inspector of Detectives until he became an Instructor at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario in 1967. Richard retired from the Police College in 1978 and focused on his love for organic gardening, herbal medicines and reading. At his request Richard has been cremated and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. H.A. CROFT, Glenard▲▼ Joseph▲▼
Glenard Joseph CROFT was born on January 15, 1921, the oldest son of Ned CROFT and Marian SAYERS. He had two brothers Ted who predeceased him, and Robert, both from Flesherton.
Glen was married to Dorothy OTTEWELL, who died in 1951, along with his baby son. He remarried in 1953 to Hazel McKILLOP who died in 1961 leaving behind a daughter Marian. In 1962 he married Eleanor NICKERSON. They parted ways in 1971 but he continued to raise his daughter Diane.
Glen served in World War 2 with the 4th Anti-Tank, 5th Division Infantry. He fought in England, North Africa, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He kept in touch with his comrades, phoning them often and attending reunions when possible, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #333, Flesherton.
During his life he farmed in the Ceylon area, had a garage built north of Flesherton for business purposes, hauled logs, snow plowed in the area and spent over 30 years working for Franceschini Bros. in Brampton. Due to back problems he was forced to retire. During his retirement he would pick up cars for a used car dealer and would be out visiting at the local businesses, restaurants and his other Friends.
Glen was a strong willed and determined man who fought hard with his health problems but on May 18, 2005 he lost the battle and passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Markdale.
The visitation was held at the Fawcett Funeral Home on May 20. The service was held at the Rock Mills Fellowship Baptist Church on May 21. Pastor Wayne HEIKKINEN offered the prayers and welcome and Reverend Don PRINCE offered the scripture reading, reflections and prayer. Murray BETTS delivered the eulogy. The pallbearers were Peter McCRACKEN, Ron LOUCKS, Wayne CROFT, Charlie LEVER, Ryan CROFT and Phil McENANEY. Flowerbearers were Brianne JOLLY, Brad JOLLY, William BEASLEY, Angel BEASLEY and Cameron BEASLEY. The lunch was served at the Prince Arthur Lodge hall by the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

With courage, spirit and dignity, after a long struggle Ruth-Ellen "Bonnie" McFARLANE passed away peacefully at the McCall Continuing Care Facility, Etobicoke on Wednesday, January 5th, 2005. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. L. CALLANDER. She leaves her husband and best friend Hugh A. McFARLANE of Missisauga. She is survived by her three children: Laurier McFARLANE (Valerie) of Midhurst, Diana McFARLANE (Rob BARRETT) of Coquitlam and Peter McFARLANE of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew and Andrea McFARLANE, Noelle and Braden BARRETT and Geoffrey McFARLANE. Grandma will be fondly remembered by all her grandchildren for all the good times at the family cottage on Lake Huron. Mrs. SLAVIN is survived by several nieces and nephews, in Canada. Daughter of the late Charles E. PRIMMER and late former Mary Anne BEATON. Mrs. SLAVIN was born in Amabel Township. She spent her childhood attending school at Hepworth, Maple Grove and Northern Business College, in Owen Sound. Her adult years were spent in the Albany Capital District. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Patroon #1994 Chapter of A.A.R.P. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and active in the Dorcus Society of that church. On Wednesday, September 14th, 2005, Michael died at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Marie Catherine McDERMOTT, who predeceased him in 1988; beloved father of Brian Michael CLONEY, of Oakville, Ontario loving grandfather of Deborah Lynn Cloney STRANG, great-grandfather of Tyler and Cameron STRANG; son of the late Walter Patrick CLONEY and Josephine Teresa GUERIN, of Toronto, Ontario; brother of the late Elizabeth Mary BEATON, of Ottawa, Ontario, and Edmund Augustine CLONEY, of Coral Gables, Florida, and uncle of Edmund's daughter Irene WILSON, of Middletown, Connecticut; cousin of Catherine Cloney MITCHELL, Stratford,▼ Ontario.▼
Michael was a 1930 graduate of Saint Mary's Redemptorist College, Brockville, Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario and called to the Ontario Bar in 1940.
Michael served as an infantry officer in the Canadian Army (active) in 1942-47 in Canada, England and Italy during the Second World War. From 1947-61 he was an officer of the Canadian Army (Regular), serving as a Military Judge with the office of the Judge Advocate General in Ottawa, Winnipeg, West Germany (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and Oakville, Ontario.
Michael retired in 1961 upon assuming the office of Magistrate for Metropolitan Toronto. In 1968, he became a Judge of the Ontario Provincial Court (Criminal Division). He occasionally substituted for other judges in Ontario locations, but principally in the Greater Toronto area. He retired in January, 1987.
In 1961-77, he was a Director of the Salvation Army House of Concord, as well as the Santa Maria House in Toronto; President of the Thomas More Lawyers Guild of Toronto in 1972-73, when he brought His Excellency Archbishop Fulton J. SHEEN to Toronto to address the Guild's Annual Dinner; Life member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; Life member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute; Life member of The Ontario Judges Association.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Andrew's Church on Reynolds Street at King Street, in Oakville, Ontario on September 17th at 10: 00 a.m.
Interment will take place in the Cloney Family Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery, Toronto, following the Mass of Christian Burial.
Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home on Friday September 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Michael request that instead of floral remembrances, donations to the Covenant House in Toronto be made and would be appreciated.

On Wednesday, September 14th, 2005, Michael died at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Marie Catherine McDERMOTT, who predeceased him in 1988; beloved father of Brian Michael CLONEY, of Oakville, Ontario loving grandfather of Deborah Lynn Cloney STRANG, great-grandfather of Tyler and Cameron STRANG; son of the late Walter Patrick CLONEY and Josephine Teresa GUERIN, of Toronto, Ontario; brother of the late Elizabeth Mary BEATON, of Ottawa, Ontario, and Edmund Augustine CLONEY, of Coral Gables, Florida, and uncle of Edmund's daughter Irene WILSON, of Middletown, Connecticut; cousin of Catherine Cloney MITCHELL, Stratford,▲ Ontario.▲ Michael was a 1930 graduate of Saint Mary's Redemptorist College, Brockville, Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario and called to the Ontario Bar in 1940. Michael served as an infantry officer in the Canadian Army (active) in 1942-47 in Canada, England and Italy during the Second World War. From 1947-61 he was an officer of the Canadian Army (Regular), serving as a Military Judge with the office of the Judge Advocate General in Ottawa, Winnipeg, West Germany (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and Oakville, Ontario. Michael retired in 1961 upon assuming the office of Magistrate for Metropolitan Toronto. In 1968, he became a Judge of the Ontario Provincial Court (Criminal Division). He occasionally substituted for other judges in Ontario locations, but principally in the Greater Toronto area. He retired in January, 1987. In 1961-77, he was a Director of the Salvation Army House of Concord, as well as the Santa Maria House in Toronto; President of the Thomas More Lawyers Guild of Toronto in 1972-73, when he brought His Excellency Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen to Toronto to address the Guild's Annual Dinner; Life member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; Life member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute Life member of The Ontario Judges Association. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Andrew's Church on Reynolds Street at King Street, in Oakville, Ontario on September 17th at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will take place in the CLONEY Family Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery, Toronto, following the Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home "Oakville Chapel", 109 Reynolds Street, on Friday, September 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Michael requested that instead of floral remembrances, donations to the Covenant House in Toronto be made and would be appreciated.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Chris, age 63, on December 4, 2005, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario, with his wife and daughters by his side.
