passed away at her residence Tuesday, March 29, 2005 with her
family by her side. Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of

SCARLETT. A retired teacher,
she was a member of the University Women's Club, the Retired
Teachers Association and the Literacy Council. A graduate of
the University of Moncton, she received her Bachelor of Arts
and Bachelor of Education degrees. She also graduated from the
Normal School Teachers College in Toronto. Being an advocate
of women's rights, literacy and early childhood education, she
founded the first kindergarten in Pine Glen and was honoured
to have the library at the Frank L. Bowser School named after
her. She is survived by daughters, Scarlett

Richard
started his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in
Nova Scotia and remained there until he moved back to Thunder
Bay with his new wife Pat and joined the Port Arthur Police Force
in 1941. He was quickly promoted to detective and reached the
rank of Inspector of Detectives until he became an Instructor
at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario in 1967. Richard
retired from the Police College in 1978 and focused on his love
for organic gardening, herbal medicines and reading. At his request
Richard has been cremated and a family memorial service will
be held at a later date. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke

Glenard Joseph
CROFT was born on January 15, 1921, the oldest
son of Ned
CROFT and Marian
SAYERS. He had two brothers Ted who
predeceased him, and Robert, both from Flesherton.
Glen was married to Dorothy
OTTEWELL, who died in 1951, along
with his baby son. He remarried in 1953 to Hazel
McKILLOP who
died in 1961 leaving behind a daughter Marian. In 1962 he married
Eleanor NICKERSON.
They parted ways in 1971 but he continued
to raise his daughter Diane.
Glen served in World War 2 with the 4th Anti-Tank, 5th Division
Infantry. He fought in England, North Africa, Italy, France,
Belgium, Holland and Germany. He kept in touch with his comrades,
phoning them often and attending reunions when possible, and
was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #333, Flesherton.
During his life he farmed in the Ceylon area, had a garage built
north of Flesherton for business purposes, hauled logs, snow
plowed in the area and spent over 30 years working for Franceschini
Bros. in Brampton. Due to back problems he was forced to retire.
During his retirement he would pick up cars for a used car dealer
and would be out visiting at the local businesses, restaurants
and his other Friends.
Glen was a strong willed and determined man who fought hard with
his health problems but on May 18, 2005 he lost the battle and
passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Markdale.
The visitation was held at the Fawcett Funeral Home on May 20.
The service was held at the Rock Mills Fellowship Baptist Church

Michael was a 1930 graduate of Saint Mary's Redemptorist College,
Brockville, Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario
and called to the Ontario Bar in 1940.
Michael served as an infantry officer in the Canadian Army (active)
in 1942-47 in Canada, England and Italy during the Second World
War. From 1947-61 he was an officer of the Canadian Army (Regular),
serving as a Military Judge with the office of the Judge Advocate
General in Ottawa, Winnipeg, West Germany (North Atlantic Treaty
Organization) and Oakville, Ontario.
Michael retired in 1961 upon assuming the office of Magistrate
for Metropolitan Toronto. In 1968, he became a Judge of the Ontario
Provincial Court (Criminal Division). He occasionally substituted
for other judges in Ontario locations, but principally in the
Greater Toronto area. He retired in January, 1987.
In 1961-77, he was a Director of the Salvation Army House of
Concord, as well as the Santa Maria House in Toronto; President
of the Thomas More Lawyers Guild of Toronto in 1972-73, when
he brought His Excellency Archbishop Fulton J.
SHEEN to Toronto
to address the Guild's Annual Dinner; Life member of the Law
Society of Upper Canada; Life member of the Royal Canadian Military
Institute; Life member of The Ontario Judges Association.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Andrew's Church on
Reynolds Street at King Street, in Oakville, Ontario on September
17th at 10: 00 a.m.
Interment will take place in the Cloney Family Plot, Mount Hope
Cemetery, Toronto, following the Mass of Christian Burial.
Friends may call at the Ward Funeral Home on Friday September
16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Michael request

Michael was a
1930 graduate of Saint Mary's Redemptorist College, Brockville,
Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario and called
to the Ontario Bar in 1940. Michael served as an infantry officer
in the Canadian Army (active) in 1942-47 in Canada, England and
Italy during the Second World War. From 1947-61 he was an officer
of the Canadian Army (Regular), serving as a Military Judge with
the office of the Judge Advocate General in Ottawa, Winnipeg,
West Germany (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and Oakville,
Ontario. Michael retired in 1961 upon assuming the office of
Magistrate for Metropolitan Toronto. In 1968, he became a Judge
of the Ontario Provincial Court (Criminal Division). He occasionally
substituted for other judges in Ontario locations, but principally
in the Greater Toronto area. He retired in January, 1987. In
1961-77, he was a Director of the Salvation Army House of Concord,
as well as the Santa Maria House in Toronto; President of the
Thomas More Lawyers Guild of Toronto in 1972-73, when he brought
His Excellency Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen to Toronto to address
the Guild's Annual Dinner; Life member of the Law Society of
Upper Canada; Life member of the Royal Canadian Military Institute
Life member of The Ontario Judges Association. Funeral services
will be conducted at St. Andrew's Church on Reynolds Street at
King Street, in Oakville, Ontario on September 17th at 10: 00
a.m. Interment will take place in the
