He was the beloved husband of the late Pearl McKAY, née SCHULTZ, loving father of Gwen and her husband Maurice BATTERMAN, Mary Anne BARTLETT and her husband Gord MOWER and Paul McKAY and his wife Jean. His memory will be cherished in he hearts of his grandchildren: Trent, Todd, Kelly and Cambria. He was the brother of Wilmer and his wife Bev,▼ Isabelle▼ KIRK and the late Murray McKAY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Currie Funeral Home in Chatsworth on Wednesday afternoon and evening, 2: 00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9: 00 p.m. for visitation. Predeceased▼ by his parents Herbert and Lottie PAGE, sister Frances SHIER and brother-in-law Dr. Crawford SHIER. Fondly▼ remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends. Bud served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force radar (England and North Africa) from 1942 to 1945. He was a well known builder and renovator in North Toronto. In the 50's he was an Akela for Eglinton United Church 118th Cub Pack. For 11 years he volunteered at the Sunnybrook Hospital in the wood working shop of the Creative Arts Department. A long time member of the Men's Bridge Club at Leaside United Church, and member of Northlea United Church since 1954. Our thanks to Dr. M. QUILTER our family doctor, Dr. J. RIEGER and Dr. Leah STEINBERG both of the Temmy Latner Centre, and the wonderful staff of D Floor and K1 East at The Sunnybrook Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Maria was born on June 13th, 1909 in Paese, Montebelluna, Italy and passed away on December 29, 2005 in Toronto, Ontario. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Amedeo FORCELLINI. " Dolce dormire" It is sweet to sleep. Maria often said that she loved to sleep because it gave her the opportunity to dream about being young again. At 96, one can understand her need. She fished, hunted and played cards every Friday night. She won many bocce tournaments at the cottage at Round Lake. With skilled hands she prepared exquisite meals, could crochet, embroider and sew. Drawing from her repertoire of Italian arias and love ballads, her crystalline singing voice entertained family and Friends. She will be celebrated by those who remain and embraced by those who have gone before. Maria is survived by her son Peter (wife Helen) grand_son Peter (wife Jennifer;) granddaughter Lana ROGERS (husband Alan); great-grand children Amanda, James and Taylor daughter Elena BIZZANO deceased (husband Antonio deceased;) grand_son Corrado (wife Donatella) and great-grand_son Bruno; granddaughter Graziella BIZZANO (husband Beppe,) great-grand children Davide and Stefania; son Alessandro, wife Ann; grand_sons Christopher and Andrew; daughter Anna RATHGEBER (husband Ken) and grand_son Jacob. Special thanks to the staff of the St. Clair O'Connor Community and Dr. KOBLENS for their compassionate attention and care. Musician born in London, England, on January 4, 1892. A child prodigy, he first studied under pianist Vlahol Budmani, who presented him at Buckingham Palace. Later, he moved to New York to work with composer Sigmund Romberg and, in 1922, went on tour as a concert pianist until 1929, when he became conductor of the Royal York Hotel Concert Orchestra in Toronto. Later, he formed one of Canada's first big bands and, from 1943 to 1956, served as conductor of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Radio show Singing Stars of Tomorrow. In the 1960s, he wrote operatic numbers as well as a short orchestral piece and works for piano and violin.

Much loved husband of the former Gayle GORDON, of Thornbury. Sadly missed by his brother Bill BATTY (Helen) of Meaford. Fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Louise GORDON of Collingwood and several nieces and nephews.
