a special finesse for picking the winner. He enjoyed making wooden
crafts for his grandchildren with our Mom and their annual trips

Man missing since February 16 found dead
By Shannon
PROUDFOOT,
Staff
Reporter
A father and son out for an afternoon walk in Morningside Park
made a grim discovery yesterday afternoon: the body of a 57-year-old
man who wandered away from a Scarborough nursing home nearly
a month ago.
John GOMES, who suffered from schizophrenia and required medication,
was last seen leaving the Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Scarborough
on February 16, wearing only a T-shirt, cotton pants, running
shoes and a three-quarter-length jacket.
The nursing home, which houses 250 residents, is located on Neilson
Rd. near Morningside Ave. and Ellesmere Rd., right beside the
park where
GOMES' body was discovered yesterday.
No foul play is suspected in the death, and an autopsy was scheduled
for today to determine the exact cause.
Det. Tim BATES said
GOMES' family repeatedly expressed their
gratitude to the public, media and police for their help in trying
to locate GOMES after he went missing.
