Bay, who died at the Manitoulin Lodge on Friday, January 2, 2004 at the age of 92 years.
She▼ was born at Sault Ste. Marie, daughter of the late Albert and Olive
(SPACKMAN)
DOUGHERTY.
Isabel began her teaching career at the age of 19 years, and she taught until she was
65 years, in Dawson, Robinson, Burpee, Mills and Gordon Townships.
Teaching was the love of her life. She had many interests, which
included knitting. She knit many pairs of mitts and socks for many
of her students, who were in need. A very generous lady, everyone
else came first. She also enjoyed reading and baking (especially butter tarts).
Isabel was predeceased by her husband David in March of 1986 and an
infant son David in 1937. Dearly loved mother of Gloria of Gore Bay
and Bill and his wife Betty Anne of Grimsby, and proud grandmother of
Jill and Paul. Predeceased by sisters Echo

Dorothy ADDISON
(October 22, 1914 - February 8, 2004,) a resident of
Silver Water, passed away at her residence on Silver Lake on Sunday,
February 8, 2004, at the age of 89 years. She was born at Silver
Water, daughter of the late John and Elma
(EDMONDS)
HOPKINS.
Dorothy lived her entire life on the family farm at Silver Water.
She was involved in the community, at church as a member of Saint
Andrew's United church and attended Saint Peter's Anglican church where
she played the organ until recently. Dorothy was also a life member
of the United Church Women, the Women's Institute and a Community Hall board member.
Music played an important part of her life as she played for the Old
Time Orchestra, church and at various occasions at the nursing home.
Her hobbies included: knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening.
Aside from her family and community, Dorothy's greatest love was her
music. She will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished
by all who knew her.

HAYDEN, a resident of Gore Bay, died on Saturday, March 27, 2004
at his property at Elizabeth Bay, a place he loved to be, doing what he liked to do.
He was 78 years of age. Reecie was born at Elizabeth Bay,
son of the late Fred and
Pearl (NOAKES)
HAYDEN. He had worked at a variety of jobs in his life, including farming,
logging, worked for Ontario Paper Co., and construction with
McDOUGALL
Construction.▲
Reecie never really retired, although in later years he did spend less time working, and
spent more time with his favorite pastime, being with his family,
socializing with Friends and going to the Drop-in Centre. Reecie had
been on the Burpee Council and the School Board for many years. He
enjoyed hunting and fishing, working with small engines and
especially going to hockey games. His caring and friendly personality and his
presence will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Jane will be best remembered for her wonderful singing, her quick smile
and her sense of humour. She loved to spend time at her camp on
Manitoulin Island and especially loved spending time with her children
and grandchildren. “Mamma Jane” to many of her children’s Friends, her
hugs and kisses will be missed. She served in the British Army and was a
life member of Branch 225 of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was the Zone
Poppy Chairperson and an avid supporter of our veterans. A memorial
service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion upstairs hall in Sturgeon
Falls on Wednesday the 22nd of December, 2004 at 3 pm.
