Dorothy ADDISON
(October 22, 1914 - February 8, 2004,) a resident of
Silver Water, passed away at her residence on Silver Lake on Sunday,
February 8, 2004, at the age of 89 years. She was born at Silver
Water, daughter of the late John and Elma
(EDMONDS)
HOPKINS.
Dorothy lived her entire life on the family farm at Silver Water.
She was involved in the community, at church as a member of Saint
Andrew's United church and attended Saint Peter's Anglican church where
she played the organ until recently. Dorothy was also a life member
of the United Church Women, the Women's Institute and a Community Hall board member.
Music played an important part of her life as she played for the Old
Time Orchestra, church and at various occasions at the nursing home.
Her hobbies included: knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening.
Aside from her family and community, Dorothy's greatest love was her
music. She will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished
by all who knew her.

Tuesday. The funeral service will be conducted in the William G. Turner
Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11: 00 am with Mr. Erwin

TOPPS officiating. Spring interment in Silver Lake Cemetery.

TRICK,
December 3, 1910 - July 12, 2004.
Ivan TRICK, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, and formerly of Meldrum Bay, died at the Lodge
on Monday, July 12, 2004 at the age of 93 years.
He was born at Silver Water,
son of the late George Hedley and Ada Florence
(KEMP)
TRICK.
Ivan worked in timbering, mining, had owned and operated the store at Meldrum Bay from 1949-1973,
had been Harbour Master for 25 years, and drove school bus for Mel
WICKETT until he was 80 years of age.
Ivan was a very talented carpenter and electrician and had worked in Gore Bay for Ted
COOK a number
of years ago. He had been Secretary Treasurer at Meldrum Bay United Church for many years. Ivan
was an extremely knowledgeable man, who was called upon many times for his recollections of past events
on the Island. He had a wonderful and warm personality, which afforded him many Friends and acquaintances.
One of Ivan’s proudest accomplishments was being named an Honourary Member of the Great Lakes Cruising Club,
given as appreciation for his outstanding work with boaters. His knowledge and indeed his personality
will be sadly missed by all. Ivan was predeceased by his wife

He was also predeceased by a dear friend and companion, Edna
MILLMAN in 1999, brothers Reece and Charlie
and sister Laura and infant sister Hattie. Survived by a number of nieces and nephews and numerous
Friends and acquaintances. Cremation will take place. A memorial service was conducted in the Wm. G.
Turner
