passed away November 28, 2004 at Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Little Current.
Born in 1911 in Horodniecia, Poland. Pre-deceased by husband John, parents Rose and Joseph
and brothers Karol, Marion, Joseph and Anthony and sister Katharena, in Poland.
Loving mother of sons, Michael, wife Beverley and John, wife Jean of Sheguiandah.
Greatly loved Baba. Missed by grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken, wife Linda,
children Sarah and Mark, David, wife Jo-Anne, children Rebbekah, Kayla, Crystal and Nicholas,
Kim and friend Vicki, Lisa, husband Ray
THERRIEN, daughter Paige. Tracy, children Mathew and
Andrew, Robert, Stephen and Rachael. Christopher, wife Michelle, children Dylan and Nicholas. Jody,

Born in Poland, moved to Canada, living in Creighton Mine, where she married John.
They moved to Sudbury in the early 1940s and she was well known on Drinkwater St. for her
cooking and hospitality. She loved picking blueberries. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard
Funeral Home , 233 Larch St. Sudbury Funeral Mass in St. Casimirs Church, 210 Paris St. Sudbury
Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 at 10 am. Interment in the Parklawn Cemetery.

In loving memory of Carol Anna
LANE,
December 25, 1913 to January 1, 2004.
Carol LANE, a resident of Barrie Island, died at the Sudbury
Regional Hospital, Saint Joseph's Site on Thursday, January 1, 2004 at the age of 90 years.
She was born in Mills Township, daughter of the late John L. and Amelia
BAKER.
Carol was very active in her community. She was a member of the Ice Lake Church of Christ,
past member of the Gore Bay Horticultural Society, Barrie Island Women's Institute,
Western Manitoulin Cancer Society all of which she served with
passion, Postmistress of Barrie Island Post Office for 26 years and
delivered mail with her husband Harold for many years. The Post
Office was in their home on Barrie Island.
As a farmer's wife, Carol milked cows, grew a garden, picked
strawberries, canned meat, knit socks, sewed dresses, scrubbed the
schoolhouse floor, hand-quilted voraciously for every wedding, baby
and Friendship. She loved to visit and share a cup of tea and a good
laugh. She was an independent thinker and a capable community member.
Senior Citizen of the Year 2003 of Barrie Island - she accepted the
award with pride that she had belonged to such a supportive community
all of her life. Her family and Friends celebrated her 90th birthday
with her on August 30, 2003. She turned 90 on December 25, 2003, a week before her death.
Carol and Harold sent five children off to higher education and
professions in the caring fields, Julia - Home Economist, Ted -
Policeman, Gloria - Registered Nurse, Carolyn - High School
Principal, Gracie - Registered Lab Technologist. She loved to read,
to welcome the seasons, to watch the birds and to garden and grow flowers.
Predeceased by husband Harold in 1980. Loving and loved mother of

The funeral service was held in the William G. Turner Chapel on Sunday,
