Maurice Wellington HAYDEN
In loving memory of Maurice Wellington HAYDEN, October 30, 1925 - March 27, 2004.
Maurice (Reecie) HAYDEN, a resident of Gore Bay, died on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at his property at Elizabeth Bay, a place he loved to be, doing what he liked to do.
He was 78 years of age. Reecie was born at Elizabeth Bay, son of the late Fred and Pearl (NOAKES) HAYDEN. He had worked at a variety of jobs in his life, including farming, logging, worked for Ontario Paper Co., and construction with McDOUGALL Construction. Reecie never really retired, although in later years he did spend less time working, and spent more time with his favorite pastime, being with his family, socializing with Friends and going to the Drop-in Centre. Reecie had been on the Burpee Council and the School Board for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working with small engines and especially going to hockey games. His caring and friendly personality and his presence will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Dearly loved and loving husband of Julia (HILL) HAYDEN. Loving father of Judy and husband Conrad FREEMAN of Merrickville; Nancy and husband Dale HARPER of Evansville; Carol and husband Harvey MORDEN of Trenton; Arthur and his wife Cora of Naughton; Bert and his wife Debbie of Copper Cliff and Sharon and husband Dave BOATES of Trenton. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Dear brother of Bill and his wife Eva HAYDEN of Gore Bay and brother-in-law of Leila HAYDEN of Evansville. Predeceased by brothers Fred and Orace HAYDEN and sister-in-law Lenna. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends came to the Culgin Funeral Home Tuesday, March 30th and the funeral service will be held in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 11 am with Reverend Derek FRAMPTON and Rev. Frank HANER officiating. Cremation to follow.

William Matthew MATHESON
In loving memory of William Matthew MATHESON, February 3, 1924 - August 26, 2004, a resident of Silver Water, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the age of 80 years.
He was born at Elizabeth Bay, son of the late Norman and Bertha (MORDEN) MATHESON. Matt had worked for the Department of Transportation, as a mechanic, from 1947 until his retirement in 1980. He was very active in his community, having been founding Fire Chief of the Robinson Fire Department, had served on many Boards of the local Service Board for Robinson Township, and had been a very active member of the Snowdusters, grooming countless miles of trails. Matt had a variety of interests other than his community involvement. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, flying, travelling and loved horses and music. He also enjoyed visiting with people. He will be sadly missed by his loving and loved family and numerous Friends. Beloved husband of Ollie (TENNISWOOD) MATHESON. Matt and Ollie would have celebrated 59 years of marriage next month. Precious Dad to Lyla (Peter) MUNT of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Norman (friend Linda) and Don (Virginia) of Silver Water. Dear Grandfather of Stephen, Judy, Robert and Katerina, Greg and Jessica. Great-grandfather of David, Ashley, Kathryn, John, Brittany and Logan. Dear brother of Vera FALLS, Anne HOPKINS, Audrey HARPER and Rhea WATT. Predeceased by brother Charles. Brother in law of Myrtle MATHESON, Pat (Ken) RICKARD, Hazel (Henry) REUBLE, Margaret (Ross) STRAIN and Don (Venus) TENNISWOOD. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G Turner Chapel on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 11 am with Pastor Eriwn THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON officiating. Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Water.

Patricia was born and raised in Green Bay on Manitoulin Island but spent most of her life in Espanola. Beloved wife of Harold (Mick) CLARKE of Espanola. Dear daughter of the late William and Lavina (née HINDLE) FERGUSON. Loving mother of Haroldine (Mrs. Bill AINSLIE) of Espanola and Colleen MORIN of Ottawa. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Paul and Kari AINSLIE and Scott and Kevin MORIN. Very dear sister of Douglas FERGUSON, Mrs. Ruth DUNLOP & Wilhelmine BATMAN all of Little Current and the late Frances (husband Ralph.)
Pat loved to bake, knit, shop, travel and visit with family and Friends near and far during her better years. Pat was a member of the Eastern Star. For the last couple of years she was treated with much kindness by those at Pioneer Manor.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment of ashes in the Green Bay Cemetery, Manitoulin Island.

Harold CLARKE
In loving memory of Harold (Mick) CLARKE of Espanola who passed away at the Espanola General Hospital on Wednesday, March 10th, 2004 in his 84th year.
Harold was born and raised in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island. Beloved husband, for 57 years, of the late Patricia (née FERGUSON) predeceased by three days. Dear son of the late Tom and Mae (nee PEARSON) CLARKE. Loving father of Haroldine (Mrs. Bill AINSLIE) of Espanola and Colleen MORIN of Ottawa. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Paul and Kari AINSLIE and Scott and Kevin MORIN. Very dear brother of Lawrence (wife Marie) of Gore Bay and the late Marvin, Frank, Jim and George Clarke. Harold will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit. He enjoyed his mill tour guide experiences, travel and visits with Friends and relatives. Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge. The last couple of years have been difficult for him but he faced everything with determination and a joke or smile. The folks at Espanola Long Term Care, Espanola General Hospital, Sudbury Hospitals, and Meadowbrook Village have all been extremely supportive.
A memorial service was held at the Boucier Funeral Home, Espanola for Harold and Patricia on Saturday, March 13th with the Reverend Faye STEVENS officiating. Interment of ashes in the Green Bay Cemetery, Manitoulin Island.

In loving memory of Rolland RACICOT, who died unexpectedly home on September 4th, 2004 at 58 years.
Beloved husband of Sue RACICOT and loving father of Jeremy at home. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lillian RACICOT. Will be missed by his brother Oras RACICOT (wife Pauline) of Oxnard, California, sister Theresa MORIN (husband Harold) of British Columbia. Predeceased by his sister AnnettE SHULIST and husband Syl. Will be remembered by his Father-in-law Nick HARBAR (wife Phyllis) and brothers-in-law Dan HARBAR (wife Lucy,) David HARBAR (friend Janet SEBALJ) and sister-in-law Wendy WIDDICOMBE (husband Bob.) Visitation is from 7 - 9 pm, Wednesday at the Island Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11 am, Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Little Current. Cremation. Roland was the manager for Ontario Hydro on Manitoulin Island. After retiring he opened Manitoulin Area Electric. He was a very active member of the Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion and Fish and Game Club. He ran the Terry Fox Run for the last 6 years and was known across the Island for his sales of Haweater coins.

greatest joy was her family and she took pride in all of their accomplishments. She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed but lives on in the hearts of all. Visitation was held on Monday, January 12, 2004. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 all at Island Funeral Home. Burial in Mountainview Cemetery.

In loving memory of Harry Edgar Morrell who passed away on May 30, 2004.
Harry Morrell, a resident of Bayside Apartments, Gore Bay, died at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Elliot Lake on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the age of 94 years. He was born in Gordon Township, son of the late Ammonde and Ellen (Neely) Morrell. Harry had worked at the Sault Star for 18 years, farmed, worked in the mines in Sudbury and drove bus and the mail run to Little Current and Meldrum Bay for 11 years. Harry was predeceased by his wife Hazel in 1987. Surviving are daughter Elaine (husband Jack) of Toronto and daughter-in-law Jean of Sudbury. Predeceased by son Iliff. Proud grandfather of Lara, Diane and Clifford, and great-grand_son Ben. Dear brother of Roy Morrell. Predeceased by sisters Winnie Campbell and Ella Harper and brothers Burley and Leonard Morrell. Friends may call at the Culgin Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 from 11 am until 1 pm. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm with Mr. Carson Wallace officiating. With sadness and much love, we mourn the passing of Lillie Sarah MORRISON (née BOWERMAN) on Saturday, January 17, 2004.
In her 97th year, the beloved wife of the late Captain R.W. MORRISON, of Owen Sound.
Dear mother of G.B. "Bud" MORRISON and his wife Kay, of Orangeville. Loved and missed by her grandchildren Robert and his wife Susan, Jayne, Thom and his wife Janet, and Scott and his wife Melanie. Proud great grandmother of Christine and her husband Jeremy, Mark, Aiden, Emily, Alissa, Autumn, Owen, Trevor, and Mallory. Dear sister of Retta BOWERMAN of South Baymouth, Manitoulin Island. Jane HOY HARWOOD
Jane HOY HARWOOD, 63, of Charleston, West Virginia passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Charleston Area Medical Center General Division after an extended illness.
Born August 23, 1940 in Huntington, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ivan Richmond HARWOOD, MD and Jane HOY Harwood. She graduated from the Daughters of the Sacred Heart in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Saint Mary's College and West Virginia University. She raised her three children between Charleston, WV and South Baymouth (Manitoulin Island), Ontario and was a member of the Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church. Jane enjoyed painting, weaving, and needlepoint. She was a member of Lucy Quarrier Weavers, the Louden Heights Garden Club, and always treasured her Friendships in her sewing group. She was happiest spending summers in her cottage on Indian Point in South Baymouth which she had visited since her childhood.
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, and a brother and sister. son David Edgar HADEN, Jr. and wife Julie Britton HADEN and their son David Edgar "Tripp" iii of Charleston daughter Amy Haden SHREWSBURY and husband Scott Thomas SHREWSBURY and their daughters Olivia Jane and Paige Ann of Pembroke Pines, Florida daughter Sarah Haden BARICKMAN and husband Michael THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON BARICKMAN and their daughter Lillian Joyce and son Haden LEWIS of Wheeling, WV sister Susan HARWOOD MORTON and husband R. Kemp MORTON of Huntington, WV and brother Ivan Richmond HARWOOD, Jr., MD, of Jamul, California.
Family and Friends shared memories and fellowship on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston. Services were held on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 11 am at Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church in Charleston with the Reverend William Carl Thomas officiating. Private burial followed in Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington. Snodgrass Funeral Home, MacCorkle Avenue South Charleston was in charge of the arrangements.
