Born to Albert and Alvina MILLS on September 1, 1912. Beloved wife of the late Vernon Wesley CHARLTON (Jan. 10/76.) Loved by her children. Predeceased by baby daughter Shirley, Carol HEIS (predeceaased,) Helen and husband Dale of Belleville, Judy and Norm MARSDEN of Stittsville and Ryan of Little Current. At the Grey Bruce Health Services, in Southampton, on Monday, December 27th, 2004, at the age of 99 years. Wilfred SUMPTON, of Port Elgin, husband for seventy-six years of the late Ora McINTEE. Father of Mervin, of Owen Sound, Donald and Reg and his wife, Barb, all of Windsor. He is survived by eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren and his sister, Nellie MILLER, of Port Elgin. He is predeceased by one brother, Albert and by one sister, Henrietta CURRY and daughter-in-law, Clara. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 30th. Funeral Service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday at 11: 00 a.m. with Elder Alma LEEDER officiating. Interment, Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. Velma Jeanette “Jennie” WILLIAMSON
In loving memory of Velum Jeanette “Jennie” WILLIAMSON, who peacefully died at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at the age of 91 years.
Jennie was born in Sandfield Township to William and Agnes “Sibbie” (MOODY) LUSCOMBE on July 9, 1913. Throughout her life Jennie touched the lives of many people. She was very special to her family and Friends, in her caring ways and wonderful sense of humour. She laughed a lot and in doing so, brought joy to others. She married her beloved husband Earl “Tinker” in 1934. He predeceased her in 1981. Together they operated a service station in South Baymouth, previously they had both a service station and restaurant in Tehkummah and in Naughton. Loved mother of Joan SAGLE and friend Angus NORMORE of the Slash (husband Ronald predeceased,) Betty and husband Doug HEIS of Sandfield, George and wife Natalie of Hamilton. Cherished grandmother of Lance and wife Linda SAGLE, Heather and husband Bill REID, Murray and wife Kelly SAGLE, Christopher DOGGERT (predeceased,) Kimberly and husband Dave Cooper, Wendy and husband Tim Leeder, Malinda, Curtis and Cassidy WILLIAMSON. Great grandmother of Austin and Hannah COOPER, Thomas and Eric LEEDER. Jonathan, Valerie, Angela SAGLE, Joseph and Rebecca REID, Brennan and Brooke SAGLE. Grant Harry BOWERMAN
In loving memory of Grant Harry BOWERMAN, March 23, 1921 to December 23, 2003.
Grant BOWERMAN, a resident of Mindemoya, died at the Mindemoya Hospital, on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the age of 82 years.
He was born at Tehkummah, son of the late Frank and Sarah (LEESON) BOWERMAN. Grant worked for the Department of Highways in Mindemoya for 20 years before retiring. Grant was an active member of the Triangle Seniors Club of Tehkummah and enjoyed euchre, gardening, hunting small game and ice fishing. His greatest joy was his family. All who knew him will sadly and greatly miss Grant. Dearly beloved husband of Ethel (NICHOLS) BOWERMAN of Mindemoya. Loving and loved father of Clifford (wife Hollis) Sault Ste. Marie, Frank (wife Evelyn,) Mindemoya, Betty Jean BRUZAS (husband Roman) Sault Ste. Marie, Blake (wife Maria) Mindemoya, Randy (wife Stella) Providence Bay, Mark of Mindemoya, Mervyn (wife Sarah) Spring Bay, Murray of Mindemoya and Edith PEPPER (husband Richard) of Chesley. Dear grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Brother of Don BOWERMAN of Dowling and Verna MIDDAUGH of Little Current. William Lloyd TAILOR/TAYLOR
In loving memory of William Lloyd TAILOR/TAYLOR, January 22, 1929 - April 28, 2004.
William "Bill" TAILOR/TAYLOR, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at the age of 75 years.
He was born at Little Current, son of the late William TAILOR/TAYLOR and Elizabeth McMURRAY.
Bill worked as a truck driver and bulldozer operator in the construction trade. He also enjoyed the outdoors, watching the birds and wildlife. Bill's greatest joy was his family and he will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Dearly loved husband of Doreen (EADIE) TAILOR/TAYLOR of Gore Bay. Loving father of Rena COLLINS and husband Wayne of Honora, Penny VAREY and husband Wayne of Little Current, David and Sharon of Little Current, Bill and Linda of Spring Bay, Allen and Cheryl of Evansville, Jimmy and friend Mary of Gordon Township, Kevin and Tammy of Little Current, Angela CAMPBELL and husband Mark of Evansville. Proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Predeceased by two grandchildren, Rebecca and Brent. Thomas Lloyd McCULLIGH
In loving memory Thomas Lloyd McCulligh who passed away peacefully in his 84th year at Saint Joseph's Villa, Sudbury on June 12, 2004.
son of Wilfred McCULLIGH and Olive McCULLIGH (AELICK.) Brother of Weisley, (Bernice), Helen (Cliff WHITE/WHYTE) (Dennis MIDDAUGH), Marie (Emmerson COX) and infant sister Olive, all predeceased. Survived by sister Florence (Grant BAYER predeceased) (Ken HAGEN predeceased) of Mindemoya, wife Norma McCULLIGH (LEESON,) son Jerry McCULLIGH (Sharon, grand_son Greg, all of Sudbury, and grand_son Jason McCULLIGH of Ottawa. In-laws Stew and Jane LEESON of Peterborough, Russ and Beryl LEESON of Sudbury, Chesley and Carol LEESON of British Columbia. and many nieces and nephews. Born in Bidwell Township on Manitoulin Island, Lloyd worked on several farms in his younger years and as a construction worker. He worked for the Department of Highways (Ministry Transport Ontario) starting in 1956 until his retirement in 1984. He lived in the Sudbury area since 1960. He spent many summers on Manitoulin Island during his retirement years and enjoyed the euchre card parties at various communities. Visitation at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home was on Monday, June 14, 2004 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday at 1 pm. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 15 at 2 pm in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Bernard Funeral Home, 233 Larch
Street, Sudbury. Burial to be held on Wednesday, June 16 at 2 pm at Hilly Grove Cemetery in Manitowaning, Ontario. Thanks to staff of St. Joseph's Villa.

Lela MAY KEATLEY
In loving memory of Lela MAY KEATLEY, who died peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on September 6, 2004 in her 92nd year.
Born in Little Current, Ontario, Daughter of the late Gilbert and Catherine (HANNAH) MAY. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1990, three brothers Jack, Roy and Humphrey (Bud). Survived by twin sister Clara (MAY) ORR, son William and wife Sandra of Sheguiandah, daughter Marjorie and husband Preston COLLIE of Lively, Grandchildren Christine, husband Robert HAAS, Jim KEATLEY, Gordon KEATLEY, wife Shan, Tom COLLIE, wife Julie, Trent COLLIE, wife Sarah, Great Grandchildren, Alyssa and Evan HAAS, Kaitlyn KEATLEY and Brett COLLIE. Also sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Lela was a graduate of the North Bay Normal School. She enjoyed several years of teaching in Green Bush and Honora before her marriage to Lloyd KEATLEY in 1939. She later returned to teaching and retired in 1977. She was devoted to her profession and was able to bring out the best in her pupils. For many years she was an active member in the Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed travelling and visiting family and Friends. She was a life member of the Women’s Institute. Many volunteer hours were spent with Meals on Wheels and the Manitoulin Centennial Manor which was her home for the past seven years. Visitation was from 7 - 9 pm Tuesday, and the Memorial Service was held at 11 am, Wednesday September 8, 2004 at the Island Funeral Home. Elders Madeleine CHARLTON and Weston LEESON officiating. Burial at Elmview Cemetery.

Verna MIDDAUGH, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, and formerly of Stewart Road, Mindemoya, died at the Lodge on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the age of 88 years.
She was born at Tehkummah, daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (LEESON) BOWERMAN. Verna had been a homemaker and she looked after Windfall Lake Cottages for 15 years. She enjoyed cooking and knitting and taking care of her family. Verna was predeceased by her beloved husband Stewart on August 20, 2004. Loving and loved mother of Freeman and his wife Lorna of Mindemoya. Dear sister of Don, wife Judy of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Virgie, Clara, Mildred, Anna and Ruby and brothers Cleveland, Leonard and Grant. Friends called at the Tehkummah Pentecostal Church after 7 pm on Friday. The funeral service was conducted at the church on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 11 am with Reverend Frank HANER officiating. Spring interment in Mindemoya Cemetery.
