Little Current, on September 6, 2004 in her 92nd year.
Born in Little Current, Ontario, Daughter of the late Gilbert
and Catherine

Predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1990,
three brothers Jack, Roy and Humphrey (Bud). Survived by twin sister

and nephews. Lela was a graduate of the North Bay Normal School. She
enjoyed several years of teaching in Green Bush and Honora before her
marriage to Lloyd
KEATLEY in 1939. She later returned to teaching and
retired in 1977. She was devoted to her profession and was able to bring
out the best in her pupils. For many years she was an active member in
the Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed travelling and visiting
family and Friends. She was a life member of the Women’s Institute. Many
volunteer hours were spent with Meals on Wheels and the Manitoulin
Centennial Manor which was her home for the past seven years. Visitation
was from 7 - 9 pm Tuesday, and the Memorial Service was held at 11 am,
Wednesday September 8, 2004 at the Island Funeral Home. Elders Madeleine
CHARLTON and Weston
LEESON officiating. Burial at Elmview Cemetery.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the excellent and compassionate care given
by the staff at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor and the Manitoulin Health Centre.
