Doug JAMES
In loving memory of Doug James, longtime summer resident of Sandfield,
Lake Manitou passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4th in
Brampton. He would have been 81 on Saturday. Survived by his cherished
wife, Irene. Dear father of Sharon (husband Bob Watson) of Sandfield,
Jon (wife Maureen) of Toronto, Leslie (husband Bill Brown) of Richmond
Hill and Doug (wife Robin) of Orangeville. Predeceased by daughter Nancy
in 1957. Loving brother of Marion Smyth of Edmonton, Alice Farrell of
Markham and Dave James of Stroud. He will be sadly missed by 10
grandchildren, Rob and Sara Watson, Carolyn and Tim James, Nicole, Andy
and Kim Brown and Cori, Heather and Doug James, as well as many nieces
and nephews. Visitation and service were held Sunday, November 7th in
Richmond Hill. Final resting place will be on his beloved Manitoulin at
a later date. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or Hospital for
Sick Children would be gratefully appreciated.

GILBANK
In loving memory of Marion Thelma
GILBANK.
Thelma GILBANK, a resident of Mindemoya, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre,
Mindemoya on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the age of 86.
She was born in Bidwell Township, daughter of the late George and Effie
(ROWLAND)
HINDLE.
Thelma taught school for 34 years, the first part of her career on Manitoulin, and
then 23 years at Massey, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the
Mindemoya United Church. Thelma always had an interest in her students
and had many interesting stories. She also enjoyed reading and giving many of her books away.
Thelma was predeceased by her first husband Frank
KERR, then married
Keith GILBANK who also predeceased. She is also survived by four
stepchildren and their spouses, Gerald and Erica
GILBANK of Sudbury,
Patsy and Serge
BRISSON of Val Caron, Victoria
JAMEUS of Sudbury and
Gregory and Esther
GILBANK of North Bay. Step-grandmother of eight
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Elsie
NAZARETZ of Saint Catherines. Also survived by a number of nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by her brother Leonard
HINDLE.
Friends and relatives may call at the Mindemoya United Church,
Wednesday, May 26, 2004 from 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will be
conducted from the church on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 11 am. Reverend Mary
Jo ECKERT will officiate. Cremation to follow.
