DEWAR deceased September 30, 2004, born August 22, 1907.
Reg DEWAR, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge and formerly of Providence Bay, died
at the Lodge on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the age of 97 years.
He was born at Providence Bay,
son of the late William and Harriet
(KAY)
DEWAR.
Reg had farmed for 33 years, and then moved to Providence Bay where he worked for
McDERMID’s
Hardware from 1970 to about 1989. He was a very active member of his
community, as a dedicated member of the Community of Christ Church, having served
on Council for many years, a member of the Fair Board, Manitoulin
Livestock Co-Op and the Rink Committee to name a few. He also had many
other interests which included hunting, ice fishing (until he was 90),
gardening and he enjoyed horses and playing the fiddle. Reg was a well
known man, and will be greatly missed in his community, and by his
family and many Friends. Many happy memories will be cherished by all.
Dearly loved husband of Grace of Manitoulin Lodge, loved and loving
father of Harold and Shirley of Central Manitoulin, Darrell and Marlene
of Sandfield and Lyle and Sharon of Providence Bay. Proud grandfather of
Clark, Anita, Cheryl, Valerie, Darren and Deanna and great grandchildren
Sydney, Ian, Grace and Abby. Dear brother of Jack and his wife Maud of
Providence Bay. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased
by sister Jean and husband Russ

VANHORN.
Friends called at the Providence Bay Centennial Hall on Saturday from 7
to 9 pm. The funeral service was conducted at the Centennial Hall on
Sunday, October 3, 2004 at 2 pm. Mr. Willis Hopkin officiated. Interment
was in Providence Bay Cemetery.
