Rita Joan COLDEN
In loving memory of Rita Joan COLDEN, April 9, 1938 - July 28, 2004.
Rita COLDEN, a resident of Kagawong, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya, on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the age of 66 years.
She was born at LaReine, Quebec. She and Gary had lived at Shining Tree, then Sudbury, and came to Manitoulin over 20 years ago. Rita enjoyed knitting and loved living on Manitoulin and especially spending time with family and Friends. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Rita was predeceased by her loving husband Gary on August 28, 2003. Loving and loved mother of Colleen BLACKBURN and husband Dennis of Evansville and Brad COLDEN and his wife Barb of Cookstown. Proud grandmother of Shauna (fiance Jason McMURRAY) and Jennifer and husband Dustin WOODS and Kyle and Kayla COLDEN. Dear sister of Harold (wife Helen) SCOTT of Cartier and Marjorie ANDERSON of Scarborough. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 29. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 11 am with Father Douglas McCARTHY officiating. Cremation to follow.

Beloved infant sons of Ivan FOX and Sheila TRUDEAU. Dear brothers of Stevie and Raymond. Dear grand_sons of Grace and Joe FOX, Jeff STONE and Margaret Anne TRUDEAU and great grandparents Archie and Angela TRUDEAU. Survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
They rested at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah, Ontario. A funeral mass was held in Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong, Ontario, Monday, April 26, 2004. Interment in Wikwemikong Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.

Dorothy May ADDISON (HOPKINS)
Dorothy ADDISON (October 22, 1914 - February 8, 2004,) a resident of Silver Water, passed away at her residence on Silver Lake on Sunday, February 8, 2004, at the age of 89 years. She was born at Silver Water, daughter of the late John and Elma (EDMONDS) HOPKINS. Dorothy lived her entire life on the family farm at Silver Water. She was involved in the community, at church as a member of Saint Andrew's United church and attended Saint Peter's Anglican church where she played the organ until recently. Dorothy was also a life member of the United Church Women, the Women's Institute and a Community Hall board member. Music played an important part of her life as she played for the Old Time Orchestra, church and at various occasions at the nursing home. Her hobbies included: knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening. Aside from her family and community, Dorothy's greatest love was her music. She will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Elwood ADDISON who predeceased in 1982. Loving and loved mother of Jack and Alice ADDISON of Caley of Port Elgin, and Lyle and Ann ADDISON of Silver Water. Dear grandmother of Mike and Laurie ADDISON, Lindsay and Lisa ADDISON, Lori and John MASTELKO, all of Manitoulin, Sharon and John LLOYD, Lianne and Brad PAGE, Jim and Sue CALEY of Southern Ontario, John and Jean ADDISON, Marc and Kathe ADDISON, Tina and Ralph RUSCHECK and Jim ADDISON, all of Ohio and 20 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Alan, Stanley, and Murray, brothers-in-law, Darrel HAZZARD, Reece TRICK and Norman McDONALD and sisters-in-law Pearl HOPKINS and Peggy HOPKINS. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay, after 7: 00 pm on Tuesday. The funeral service will be conducted in the William G. Turner Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11: 00 am with Mr. Erwin THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Reverend Beth TOPPS officiating. Spring interment in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Lela MAY KEATLEY
In loving memory of Lela MAY KEATLEY, who died peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on September 6, 2004 in her 92nd year.
Born in Little Current, Ontario, Daughter of the late Gilbert and Catherine (HANNAH) MAY. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1990, three brothers Jack, Roy and Humphrey (Bud). Survived by twin sister Clara (MAY) ORR, son William and wife Sandra of Sheguiandah, daughter Marjorie and husband Preston COLLIE of Lively, Grandchildren Christine, husband Robert HAAS, Jim KEATLEY, Gordon KEATLEY, wife Shan, Tom COLLIE, wife Julie, Trent COLLIE, wife Sarah, Great Grandchildren, Alyssa and Evan HAAS, Kaitlyn KEATLEY and Brett COLLIE. Also sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Lela was a graduate of the North Bay Normal School. She enjoyed several years of teaching in Green Bush and Honora before her marriage to Lloyd KEATLEY in 1939. She later returned to teaching and retired in 1977. She was devoted to her profession and was able to bring out the best in her pupils. For many years she was an active member in the Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed travelling and visiting family and Friends. She was a life member of the Women’s Institute. Many volunteer hours were spent with Meals on Wheels and the Manitoulin Centennial Manor which was her home for the past seven years. Visitation was from 7 - 9 pm Tuesday, and the Memorial Service was held at 11 am, Wednesday September 8, 2004 at the Island Funeral Home. Elders Madeleine CHARLTON and Weston LEESON officiating. Burial at Elmview Cemetery.

In loving memory of William Lloyd TAILOR/TAYLOR, January 22, 1929 - April 28, 2004.
William "Bill" TAILOR/TAYLOR, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at the age of 75 years.
He was born at Little Current, son of the late William TAILOR/TAYLOR and Elizabeth McMURRAY.
Bill worked as a truck driver and bulldozer operator in the construction trade. He also enjoyed the outdoors, watching the birds and wildlife. Bill's greatest joy was his family and he will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Dearly loved husband of Doreen (EADIE) TAILOR/TAYLOR of Gore Bay. Loving father of Rena COLLINS and husband Wayne of Honora, Penny VAREY and husband Wayne of Little Current, David and Sharon of Little Current, Bill and Linda of Spring Bay, Allen and Cheryl of Evansville, Jimmy and friend Mary of Gordon Township, Kevin and Tammy of Little Current, Angela CAMPBELL and husband Mark of Evansville. Raymond McLEAN) of Sudbury, Joyce (Mrs. Charles TOBIN) of Xenia, Ohio and the late James STEVENS
(predeceased 1990) (wife Beverley) of Little Current and Max (predeceased 1998) wife Sue of Garson. Will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granddaughters. Very dear brother of Stan of Richard’s Landing, Vera (Mrs. Bruce SMITH) of Hanover and the late Archie, Henry, Leonard, Harold, and Fred STEVENS, Edna BATMAN, Rena SKIPPEN and Eunice LANKTREE. Frances Gertrude COLVILLE
In loving memory of Frances COLVILLE, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, died at the Lodge on Monday, August 9, 2004 at the age of 98 years.
She was born at Silver Water, daughter of the late Arthur and Rhoda (JEWELL) EDMONDS. Frances had taught school, first at Cockburn Island then many other schools on Manitoulin, then
retiring a number of years ago. She was a member of the Uunited Church Women, the Women’s Institute and the Teacher’s Federation. Frances had a variety of interests including reading, writing and knitting. Frances had written a book on the history of West Manitoulin through the perspective of the United Church. Her favourite times were spent traveling. She spent winters in Florida and had traveled to countries such as Russia, China and Japan. Frances was a true pioneer, and her knowledge and presence will be sadly missed by all. Frances was predeceased by her first husband George ROBINSON, and then by her second
husband William COLVILLE who also predeceased. Frances was predeceased by sisters Mae TENNISWOOD and Hazel ADDISON and brother Clarence (Pete) EDMONDS. Survived by half sister Naomi HARPER of Centennial Manor, Little Current and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at the Culgin Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 11. The funeral service was conducted at the St. Andrew’s United Church, Silver Water
on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 11am with Mr. Erwin THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON officiating. Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Elizabeth Joan (TOON) GILMORE
The passing of Elizabeth Joan (TOON) GILMORE of Fredericton, beloved wife of Harry GILMORE, occurred April 1st, 2004 at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home in Minto, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Fredericka (COLWELL) TOON. Mrs. GILMORE was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fredericton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, H. Andrew GILMORE and his wife Kimberley of Noonan, NB, one daughter, Tammy L. ALBERS and her husband John of Little Current, ON, one brother John E. TOON and his wife Diana of Fredericton, NB, three grandchildren, Chelsea M. GILMORE, Mitchell A. GILMORE and Noah J. F. ALBERS.
Visitation took place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Friday, April 2nd, 2004. A funeral service was held at the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 with the Reverend Dr. Brad LITTLE officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton. Pallbearers for the service were Garth GILMORE, Kirk GILMORE, Jennifer GILMORE, Jaclyn HETHERINGTON, Brent TOON and Mark TOON.
