SMYTH, Mary Emily (née LAVERY)
Died in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 28, 2003 from natural causes. She is survived by husband John, sister Grace and several nieces and nephews. Her mother was Emily McARTHER of Collingwood. Her cremated remains will be intered at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.

George Eli Amos PICKARD
February 12, 1921 - January 30, 2003
George PICKARD, a resident of Gore Bay, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at the age of 81 years. He was born at Ice Lake, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth BRANDOW) PICKARD. George had worked for 7 years at INCO, then returned home and farmed for 46 years, retiring to Gore Bay in 1989. He was a member of the United Church, and had many interests including gardening, fishing, and doing crossword puzzles. His greatest love was his family. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. he was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Dearly loved husband of Margaret (McARTHUR) PICKARD of Gore Bay. Loved and loving father and father-in-law of Ken and Carol PICKARD of Espanola, Sheila and Joe BRANDOW of Ice Lake and Marilyn PRIOR and friend Hector of Ice Lake. Proud grandfather of Mike and Kendal, Wendy and Steven, Patti and Maurice, Jason, Diane and Oliver, Connie and Chadwick and Sherry and great grandchildren Kyle, Matthew, Carly, Shelby and Christian. Dear brother of Alvin PICKARD of Silver Water and Elizabeth ROBERTSON of Gore Bay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Laura and brothers Robert, Norman, Earl, John and Cecil.
Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home after 7: 00 pm on Friday. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 11: 00 am with Geraldine BOULD officiating. Spring interment in Gordon cemetery.

SIRMAN, Catherine Jean (née MacARTHUR)
Born January 23, 1911 in Orillia, Ontario, Jean died peacefully on March 13, 2003 at the Bennett Care Health Centre, Georgetown. A retired teacher of the Toronto Board of Education she was a proud member of Glenview Presbyterian Church for over half a century. Jean was the beloved wife of the late W. Farrell SIRMAN, loving mother of Bill (Carol) Napanee, Eleanor (Dr. Les JOHNSTON) Limehouse and John (Clare) Mississauga. Dear grandmother of Lindsay, Graham (Allison) and Hilary SIRMAN, Ian (Lara) and Kirsten JOHNSTON and Matthew and Michael SIRMAN, and great-grandmother of Will SIRMAN and Catie JOHNSTON. Predeceased by sisters Eileen BLACKBURN and Edythe JERMEY and brothers Gord, Bill, Grant and Archie MacARTHUR. Visitation Sunday, March 16 2-4 and 7-9 at Trull 'North Toronto' Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street (5 blocks south of Lawrence). Funeral Service will be held at Glenview Presbyterian Church (Glenview Avenue at Yonge Street, 3 blocks south of Lawrence), on Monday March 17 at 2 o'clock. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Following Interment a reception will be held at the Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation, by those who so wish, to either the Glenview Presbyterian Church Fund or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be respectfully appreciated by the family.

In loving memory of Lawrence H. RECOLLET August 14, 1926 to June 1, 2003.
Lawrence RECOLLET, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the age of 77 years. He was born in Wikwemikong, son of the late David and Lena (FOX) RECOLLET. He was a member of Saint Anthony Daniel Catholic Church, Kaboni. Lawrence worked for E.B. Eddy Forest Products as a logger. He enjoyed the outdoors along with hunting and fishing. His family and extended family will miss Lawrence, but many happy memories will be cherished.
Dearly loved husband of Catherine (ROY) RECOLLET (predeceased.) Dear father of Francine TOBODO (husband Dan) of Espanola and Glen RECOLLET of Wikwemikong. Predeceased by two children Daniel and Anita. Dear grandfather of six, Craig and Lisa, Miranda, Dallas, Glenda and Glen Jr. and one great-grandchild Gauge. Loving brother of Daniel (wife Marena), Clayton and Ivan. Predeceased by brother Angus and William and sisters Winnifred and Agnes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at Saint Anthony Daniel Catholic Church, Kaboni on Monday June 2, 2003. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2003 at 2: 00 p.m. from the church. Glenn Vernon PELTIER of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Wikwemikong passed away at Wasaga Beach on Thursday, November 6th, 2003 in his 47th year.
Beloved son of Eugene PELTIER and Stella PELTIER née RECOLLET predeceased.) Beloved step-son of Honorine (CORBIERE) PELTIER. Loving brother of Ron (Beatrice), Brian (Catherine), Linda (Byron), Arlene (Dale), Warren (Jackie), Wayne (Christi). Survived by uncles Robert PELTIER, Tommy PELTIER, Norman RECOLLET, Isadore RECOLLET and aunt Bella PITAWANAKWAT.
Predeceased by aunts, Yvonne McRAE, Rosemary FISHER, Margaret RIVERS and uncles, Wilfred PELTIER, Eli RECOLLET, Philip RECOLLET and Sam RECOLLET. Will be sadly missed by nephews and nieces, Yvette, Joe, Jennifer, Binaysi, Ying, Cheyene, Jade, Steven, Anais, Nicholas and Jeana.
