RONSON,
John
C.
(Jack)
Died peacefully at 81 with his family at his side at Trillium
Health Centre, Mississauga on Sunday, September 28th, 2003. He
was the proud father of the ''boysies'', John, Jim and Doug.
Fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law Barbara, Carol and
Mary, and by his eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his
loving wife Carol, with whom he spent more than 40 great years.
Jack served with the Canadian Navy during the Second World War.
Although he would not talk about the difficult times, he delighted
in telling anyone who would listen about his more humorous naval
adventures. After graduating from McGill and Harvard, he had
a successful career with Stelco. A passionate supporter of public
education, he volunteered many hours as Chair of the Halton Board
of Education, Sheridan College and the Ontario School Trustees
Council. In his retirement he worked with the Workers Compensation
Appeals Tribunal, traveled with Carol and kept Michael's Back
Door restaurant in business. Special thanks to the staff at Trillium,
Heritage house and of course to Dorothy.
The family will receive Friends on Tuesday, September 30th, from
7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Skinner and Middlebrook Ltd. 128
Lakeshore Rd. E. (one block west of Hurontario St.) (Parking
off Ann Street) Mississauga. Funeral service in the chapel on
Wednesday, October 1st, at 2 p.m. In memory of Jack's community
spirit, please donate time or money to an organization of your
choice.
