FRANCIS, Peter Norton
Suddenly, in Meaford on Wednesday March 5, 2003. Peter FRANCIS, loved husband of Elizabeth EARLY, of Meaford in his 61st year. son of the late Arthur and Jean (KNOWLES) FRANCIS. Loving father of Charles FRANCIS of Toronto. Dear brother of Janet (Ron) PURSER of Brockville. Also remembered by nieces Margaret, Beth and Barbara and great-uncle of Sarah and Amy. Also survived by a brother-in-law Steve EARLY. Funeral services will be conducted at Meaford United Church on Saturday, March 8 at 2: 30 p.m. with interment at Lakeview Cemetery following. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher Street East, Meaford on Friday from 2 until 5 o'clock. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hall Restoration Fund or Meaford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home (519-538-1320).

Elsie Dorothea GIBBS
November 20, 1909 - January 28, 2003
Elsie GIBBS, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge since 1996, died at the Lodge on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at the age of 93 years.
She was born in Gore Bay, daughter of the late John and Minnie (TOMLINSON) GIBBS. Elsie had worked as a bookkeeper for James PURVIS and son for about 20 years. She was very active in the Lyons Memorial United Church, having acted as treasurer for 38 years.
Elsie's home was always considered home for her sisters and brothers and their families. She kept her home as long as she could, until she had to move to the Lodge. She truly loved her family, and enjoyed writing to the ones who were at a distance, and visiting and going out with the ones who were close.
Elsie was predeceased by two sisters Olive GIBBS and Florence BAILEY, and brothers Clifford, Harvey, Lyman and Arthur. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
Friends may called the Culgin Funeral Home after 7: 00 pm on Friday. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 1: 30 pm with Pastor Maxine McVEY officiating. Spring interment in Gordon Cemetery. Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay.

Dorothy Evelyn PURVIS (née LANGFORD)
In loving memory of Dorothy Evelyn PURVIS (née LANGFORD) passed away October 28, 2003 after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 91.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband William and her son William Edward (Bill). Dorothy will be deeply missed by her daughter-in-law Barbara, grand_son William Evan (Bill), great grandchildren Michelle, Shannon and their mother Maureen, grand_son Christopher Peter and his wife Sharon, great grandchildren Jessica, Brandon and Austin.
Dorothy will be fondly remembered by numerous family and Friends in Calgary, Sudbury (Ontario), Gore Bay (Ontario) and Tobacco Lake (Ontario). The family would love to thank the staff at the Renoir and the Sarcee Hospice for their love and professional care. Memorial service and funeral will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church early in July, 2004, at a date and time to be determined and shared in these publications.
