George Eli Amos PICKARD
February 12, 1921 - January 30, 2003
George PICKARD, a resident of Gore Bay, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at the age of 81 years. He was born at Ice Lake, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth BRANDOW) PICKARD. George had worked for 7 years at INCO, then returned home and farmed for 46 years, retiring to Gore Bay in 1989. He was a member of the United Church, and had many interests including gardening, fishing, and doing crossword puzzles. His greatest love was his family. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. he was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Dearly loved husband of Margaret (McARTHUR) PICKARD of Gore Bay. Loved and loving father and father-in-law of Ken and Carol PICKARD of Espanola, Sheila and Joe BRANDOW of Ice Lake and Marilyn PRIOR and friend Hector of Ice Lake. Proud grandfather of Mike and Kendal, Wendy and Steven, Patti and Maurice, Jason, Diane and Oliver, Connie and Chadwick and Sherry and great grandchildren Kyle, Matthew, Carly, Shelby and Christian. Dear brother of Alvin PICKARD of Silver Water and Elizabeth ROBERTSON of Gore Bay. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Laura and brothers Robert, Norman, Earl, John and Cecil.
Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home after 7: 00 pm on Friday. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 11: 00 am with Geraldine BOULD officiating. Spring interment in Gordon cemetery.

Marcel Alexander GORZYNSKI
In loving memory of Marcel Alexander GORZYNSKI, born January 16, 1925 in Poland, died February 23, 2003 at his residence on Manitoulin Island.
He married in 1948 in Germany to Lena (KAPPLER,) and they came to Canada in 1949 to Montreal. In 1950 he came to Sudbury and was hired at INCO. He was a millwright retiring in 1985. In 1975 he went camping on Manitoulin Island. While he was there he and his wife went out looking for waterfront property. They bought one on Lake Manitou and started building a camp. In 1986 he moved to Manitoulin Island permanently. Marcel enjoyed his life on Manitoulin Island to the fullest. He grew everything in the garden. He planted trees all around, Chestnut, Walnut, Apple, Pear and Grape. The flower garden was started too. Roses were his favourite. He had a green thumb for gardening and took great pride in his flowers and fruit. He was predeceased by his canine friend, Lady. Marcel battled non-Hodgin's lymphoma for two years. He died peacefully in his beloved home. We all miss him. Beloved husband of Lena (KAPPLER) GORZYNSKI of Sudbury. Loving father of Madeline (husband Terry BUCKMAN,) Patricia (husband Norm BODSON,) and Raymond (partner Debbie ROBERTSON) all of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Andrea and Stephanie. The Memorial Service was held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street Sudbury on Thursday, February 27, 2003. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.

Steve PETROVIC
In loving memory of Steve Petrovic who passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2003 at the Extendicare, Falconbridge at the age of 92 years.
Beloved husband of Maria (Natler) Petrovic of Sudbury. Loving father of Stephen (wife Mary Lou) of Kapuskasing. Cherished grandfather of Hannah, Marisa and Joshua. Sadly missed by many relatives in Yugoslavia, Steve was born in Tusilovic, Yugoslavia, where he worked as a police officer before enlisting in World War II as a member of the Allied Forces. He immigrated to Canada in 1949, then came to Sudbury where he worked at INCO for many years, retiring in 1976. He followed politics with a passion. Steve enjoyed gardening and spending time at his cottage on Manitoulin Island. Funeral Service was held in Church of the Resurrection, 363 Regent St. on Wednesday, March 5, 2003. Interment in the Mindemoya Cemetery.

Floyd Douglas BELL
In loving memory of Floyd Douglas BELL who passed away Saturday evening, June 7, 2003 at the Extendicare York Nursing' Home Sudbury.
Beloved husband of 52 years, of Jessie (HONESS) BELL of Val Caron. Loving father of Donna (husband Ches WITTY,) Marian (husband Bruce ELOFSON), Jeff (wife Debbie), Joanne (husband Bob LAPP) and Lila (friend Glen BATEMAN.) Cherished grandfather of Derek, Trevor, Dylan, Evan, Leanne, Scott, Bradley and great grand_son Kaleb "Muscles." Dear son of Sarah and Peter BELL both predeceased. Dear brother of Daisy, Roger, Terry and predeceased by Ervin. Sadly missed by his faithful canine companion Trooper. Born in Burpee, he worked as a miner at the INCO Stobie and Frood Mines for 37 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a wonderful attitude and sense of humor, he brought sunshine into our world. A special thank you to the staff and residence at Extendicare York for their care and compassion. A service of remembrance will be held at Mills Township Cemetery, Manitoulin Island, Thursday, June 12, 2003. (Time to be confirmed) Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Arrangement entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.

William Alton " Bill" LEESON
In loving memory of William Alton "Bill" LEESON who passed away Tuesday morning, October 28, 2003 at his residence in Val Caron at the age of 54 years. Beloved husband of Joyce (BURNETT) LEESON of Val Caron. Loving father of Jennifer (husband Michael THERRIEN) of Hanmer, Rick (wife Nikki) and Craig all of Val Caron. Proud grandfather of Michaela, Crystal, Cody and Keara. Dear son of Loretta (McMULLEN) MacKI of Webbwood and Robert LEESON (predeceased.) Dear brother of Ron LEESON (wife Joan) of Webbwood, Larry LEESON of British Columbia, and Ivan LEESON (predeceased.) Sadly missed by his special canine companion "Nix". Bill enjoyed music, dancing, fishing and hunting and family times. He served as a boy scout and cub leader for over 10 years. Bill retired from INCO in 1998 after 30 years of service as an electrician. He greatly cared for and enjoyed his family, Bill leaves them a wonderful legacy of strength and love and he will remain forever in their hearts.
Funeral service was held at the Lougheed Funeral Home, Val Caron/Blezard Valley Chapel 1815 Main Street, Val Caron on Friday, October 31, 2003. Interment at The Valley East Cemetery.
