TILSTON (predeceased December 1963) and Jim TILSTON of Manitowaning (wife Louise of California.) Loved grandmother of Heather KIEDYK of Stratford, Lara KIEDYK FRASER (husband Jeff) of Mt. Bridges, Andrew R. L. KIEDYK (wife Tammy) of Barrie, Carey Jane FIORELLO (John,) Chancey James Patrick Dylan TILSTON, Shannon Crystal Amber TILSTON and Jamie Mary Louise TILSTON all of California. Will be missed by great grandchildren Kieran FRASER, Brandon KIEDYK, Courtney KIEDYK, Alyssa FIORELLO, Giovanni FIORELLO and Mia FIORELLO. Survived by sister-in-law Cecilia SIM, Ann TILSTON and Christine TILSTON.
Predeceased by her siblings and in-laws Mildred and husband Perc SPARLING, Grenville SIM, James and wife Gean SIM, Hilda UEBERER, Grant SIM, Pat and Alf SELLERS, John TILSTON and George and Lorna TILSTON. Remembered with love by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was on Sunday, November 17. Funeral Service was held on Monday November 18, 2002 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Manitowaning.
Burial in Hilly Grove Cemetery.

At the Samarkand Retirement Community in Santa Barbara, California, November 6, 2002 in her 91st year. Jean was born in Tehkummah on Manitoulin Island, graduated from the Ontario Bible College, and became a Registered Nurse. She travelled to California many years ago to look after an ailing aunt and uncle. For 26 years while living at the Samarkand, Jean was a kind and helpful friend who enjoyed entertaining in her apartment. She attended weekly Bible Study, sang and helped in the chapel, and played the piano and harmonica. Jean was also an accomplished accordion player. Daughter of the late Phillip and Anne SMELTZER. Survived by sister-in-law Girda SMELTZER, many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by siblings: Violet JONES, Watson, Celenia SIM, Marion HEAD, Bill, Bob, twins Melvin and Lyman and Bruce. A service of remembrance was held on Tuesday, December 3rd in the Samarkand Chapel in California.

FORRESTER, Robert A. -- Suddenly, at his residence in Waterloo, Bob died on Saturday, December 21, 2002, in his 88th year. He was a former resident of Mississauga. Beloved husband of Mary (PRETTE,) who predeceased him June 26, 2001. Dear father of Bob FORRESTER and his wife Mary of Waterloo, and Mary and her husband Stephen BUCK of Kitchener. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Myles, Vanessa and Patrick BUCK and Tessa FORRESTER. Brother of Charles FORRESTER of Oakville. Mr. FORRESTER was a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Civil Engineering. He was retired from Ontario Hydro where he had worked for over thirty-five years and was a veteran of World War 2 serving overseas as an engineer with the Canadian Army. Along with his family, he enjoyed many summers at Christie Beach, Meaford. Mr. FORRESTER's family will receive Friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2002. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, December 27, 2002 at 1 p.m. with Reverend George SIM officiating. SMURTHWAITE, Chris -- Passed away into the presence of the Lord at the age of 50 years on November 7, 2002 after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. Chris is survived by his wife Nancy (nee SIMPKIN) and their three children Nathan, Michael, Anne Marie and her husband Brad RHAME. Also his parents Stan and Audrey, sisters Rosalind, Kathryn, Heather and Annette and the late Joy (1954). Chris was a loving husband, father, son and brother and will be remembered fondly by all. Chris was born in Morocco of missionary parents and subsequently returned to work with Arab World Ministries in France with his wife Nancy. He went on to serve as Canadian Director and more recently as U.S. Western representative. We give thanks to God for his wonderful grace in every testing time, and for the many Friends who gave support. And we are thankful for Chris who delighted to serve his Lord and leaves us with many happy memories. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Stanley Park Baptist Church (31 Lorraine Ave., Kitchener) on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at 4 p.m. Reverend Neville Cowan officiating. Our sincere thanks to the staff on the fifth floor of Cambridge Memorial Hospital and to the staff at Lisaard House. ROE, dear sister of Ada and her husband Bill McBRYDE, and Shirley SIMPSON, and Melbourne and his wife Mary. Predeceased by brother Arnold and sister Marjorie. Loving aunt of Alan MOORE and his wife Christine, Dale ROE and his wife Jayne, and Brenda SIMPSON. Great aunt of Jason and Coulton ROE. She served in Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service 1943-1945. She was a member of the Women's Royal Naval Service Association of Toronto, Toronto Naval Club, Navy League of Canada, and Royal Canadian Navy Association since 1959. She retired from the Royal Ontario Museum in 1984 as a member of the Quarter Century Club. Resting at the Murray Newbigging Funeral Home, 733 Mt. Pleasant Rd. (south of Eglinton), on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral and committal service will be held Tuesday at 1: 30 p.m. Cremation. Donations may be made to charity of choice.
