Ernest Lawrence ADDISON
In loving memory of Ernest Lawrence ADDISON, December 13, 1926-May 15, 2002.
Ernie ADDISON, a resident of Evansville, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the age of 75 years. He was born in Burpee Township, son of the late Barnes and Ada {SCOTT} ADDISON. Ernie had worked as a truck driver in Sault Ste. Marie, on highway construction, and when he returned to Manitoulin, he worked for Lloyd Noble lumber, and for 25 years, ran Ernie's Second Hand Shop. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing and playing baseball. He will be remembered as a great pitcher, and never wore a ball glove. Dearly loved husband of Corene {CAMPBELL} ADDISON, loved father of Norman, wife Helen of Tobermory, Terry, wife Lou of Gore Bay, Randy, wife Raymonde of Val Caron, Katie, friend Norm of Sudbury, Murray, wife Cathy of Tobermory, Patti, friend Joe of Sault Ste. Marie, Rick, friend Danielle of Evansville and Kevin, friend Linda of Little Current. Proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Gertie and Dorothy and brothers Charles, Clarence, Perce, Frank and Bill. Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Friday, May 17, 2002 with Erwin THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON officiating. Interment in Gordon Cemetery.

William Grant WITTY
In loving memory of William Grant WITTY, January 29, 1922-June 1, 2002.
Grant Witty, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge and formerly of Gordon Township, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Saturday, June 1, 2002 at the age of 80 years. He was born in Gordon Township, son of the late Thomas and Flora (SCOTT) WITTY. Grant was a veteran of WW2, and had served overseas. When he returned from the war, he worked in a steel plant in Sault Ste. Marie, then moved to Mills Twp. where he farmed until moving to Gordon Twp, and then sold monuments. He continued to sell monuments until 1988 when his son Bruce took over the business. He had many hobbies including hunting and especially fishing. He enjoyed carpentry work, and was a "handyman" who could fix anything. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Br.514 Royal Canadian Legion, Gore Bay. Grant was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed, but his memory will be cherished and his legacy will be carried on by his children, whom he instilled a love of life.
Dearly loved husband for 58 years of Adeline (BURMASTER) WITTY of Gore Bay, Loving and loved father of Chester (wife Donna) of Hanmer, Clifford (wife Lori) of Thessalon, Bruce (wife Linda) of Gore Bay and Peter (wife Melanie) of Unionville. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Dear brother of Willard WITTY (wife Bessie) of Evansville, Nellie NOLAND (husband George predeceased) and Ken WITTY (wife Maizie) of Sault Ste. Marie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Bella and her husband Boyd McKINLEY, brother Jim WITTY and infant sister Ruby. Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home on Sunday June 2, 2002. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Monday June 3, 2002 with Mr. Les CRAMP officiating. Interment in Gordon Cemetery.

Willard B. WITTY
In loving memory of Willard B. WITTY, August 9, 1908 to October 31, 2002.
Willard WITTY, a resident of R.R#1 Evansville, passed away at the Mindemoya Hospital on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the age of 94 years.
He was born in Burpee Township son of the late Thomas and Flora (SCOTT) WITTY.
Willard began working on the fishing tugs at the age of 17 and fished all his life until his retirement. He was a member of the Ontario Commercial Fisherman's Association and the Trapper's Association. He also enjoyed hunting, trapping. A loving and loved husband, father, and friend, he will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished.
Dearly loved and loving husband of Bessie (McKINLEY) WITTY, loving and loved father of Delena and husband John DEEG of Evansville and Darwin and wife Karen of Courtice. Dear brother of Ken WITTY of Thessalon, and Nellie NOLAND of Gore Bay. Predeceased by sisters Ruby and Bella and brothers James and Grant. Dear grandfather of David (Michelle), Brian (Ashley), Cheryl (Sean), Janice and Paul. Great grandfather of Rebecca, Thomas, Brett and Mickey-Lynn. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends called the Culgin Funeral Home on Friday November 1. The funeral service was conducted at the Burpee Mills Complex, on Saturday, November 2, 2002. Interment in Burpee Mills Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Burpee Mills Cemetery fund or Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated, and may be arranged through the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay, 705-282-2270
