Dearly loved father of Maria VIEGAS (Antonio), Anna LUIS (Manuel,) Jose RITA (Cecilia,) Manuel RITA (Emilia.) Dearly remembered by his many grandchildren. Visitation 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Ryan and Odette Funeral Home, 1498 Dundas St. W., at Dufferin. Visitor parking lot located off Dufferin just north of Dundas. Funeral Mass 9: 30 a.m. Friday at St. ebastian's Church, 20 Pauline Avenue. Entombment Prospect Mausoleum.

MATHERS, Joyce Barbara (née RITCEY) -- Passed away on December 21, 2002 at Toronto. Beloved wife of the late Brian DESMOND. Loving and cherished mother of Ian and his wife Sharon, Lesley and her husband Mark. Devoted grandmother of Kate, Bryan, Meagan and Christian. Joy will be fondly remembered by all her family and Friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 1920 Yonge Street, 4th Floor, Toronto, M4S 3E2. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 27 at one o'clock at the Carfrae Chapel, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Geraldine Wilma BRYAN
In loving memory of Geraldine Wilma BRYAN, August 28, 1922-April 18, 2002.
Geraldine (DEAN) BRYAN, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the age of 79 years. She was born in Tehkummah, daughter of the late Wilmer and Emma {HANER} McCAULEY. She had worked at the smelter in Sudbury during the war, and afterwards helped her husband Norman at his service station. Geraldine spent 50 years in Sudbury before returning to the Island, then lived for 2 years with Verlie and Robert, and 3 years in her own apartment, and lastly moved to the Lodge about 1 year ago. She enjoyed dancing in her earlier years, and reading and gardening. However, her life revolved around her family. Her greatest pleasure was looking after and being part of her families' lives. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her caring and interest in her family will be missed, but will be cherished forever.
Predeceased by her loving husband Norman Phillip BRYAN on February 1, 1993. Dearly loved and loving mother of Verlie and her husband Robert McGILLIS of Mindemoya proud grandmother of Tammy and her husband Cyle RITCHIE of Cambridge and Ginger McGILLIS of Sudbury and great grandchildren Brittany McGILLIS and Zachary RITCHIE. Dear sister of Gladys CHATWELL of Kitchener and sister-in-law Elaine McCAULEY of Tehkummah. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Gerald McCAULEY and sister Marie McCAULEY.
The funeral service was conducted at the Mindemoya United Church on Saturday, April 20, 2002 with Reverend Mary Jo ECKERT TRACY officiating. Interment in Mindemoya Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Culgin Funeral Home.

Marie, Sandra of Little Current, Randy and Alicia of St. Catharines, Douglas and Cecile of North Bay. Will be missed by nephews and nieces: Gordon, Beth, Jeff, Jill, Laurie, John, Paula, Mark, Paul, Cyle, Tammy, Rebecca, Daniel, Clinton, Michelle, Brad, Dustin, Lance, Trisha, Josh and Jake. Favourite great uncle of Mariah, Samantha, Deanna, Cameron, Trenton, Jacob, Caleb and Zachary. Remembered by aunts and uncles: Dora DESMARAIS of Thunder Bay, Jim EADIE of Little Current, Vera EADIE of Toronto, Joan PAWLOU of Saskatchewan, Ed RITCHIE, Mary ALBERT, Julie EADIE all of BC. Predeceased by Albert and William EADIE, Laura STEPHENS, Annie EADIE and Rose TRAILENBURG. Funeral service was held on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at Island Funeral Home. Officiated by Pastor John VANKESTEREN. Burial in Mountainview Cemetery. Donations to Manitoulin Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.

Elva Lauretta McGILLIS
In loving memory of Elva Lauretta McGillis, June 16, 1914 to December 6, 2002. Lauretta McGILLIS, a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Friday December 6, 2002 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Tehkummah Twp., daughter of the late George and Laura (BAXTER) VINEY. She was a member of the United Church, loved growing flowers, especially her pansies and glads, and enjoyed knitting and sewing, having made many quilts. Lauretta was a hard working farm wife and mother, and will be fondly remembered for her pride, love and enjoyment of her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Neil McGILLIS on February 26, 1993. Loving and loved mother of June LENTIR, (husband Russ HERRINGTON predeceased,) Robert and his wife Verlie McGILLIS of Mindemoya and Rick and his wife Debby McGILLIS of Trout Creek. Proud grandmother of Diane, Laura (husband George MARTIN,) Tammy (husband Cyle RITCHIE,) Patrick (friend Amy WALKER,) Ginger (husband Rick DESFORGE,) Victoria (friend Randy QUIRT) and great grandchildren George, Jennifer, Logan, Brittany, Zachary, Gavin and Samantha. Dear sister of Harry VINEY (wife Margaret predeceased,) Charlie (Lillian) VINEY, Glen (Margaret) VINEY, Joyce (Howard) HOLMES, Gladys, predeceased, husband Harry JAGGARD, Ruth, husband Wm. T. McCULLOUGH both predeceased and Grace, husband Carm HUNTER, both predeceased. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

SKELCHER, Edmund Robert " Ed"
(retired from Ontario Transport Board, past director of Ontario Motor Coach Assoc.)
After a courageous battle with cancer, Ed entered into rest peacefully with dignity at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Monday, June 17, 2002. Ed was the beloved husband of the late Gloria Bellamy SKELCHER. Lovingly remembered by his children Judy McALPINE (Peter), Rick SKELCHER (Cathy), Joy MARSHMAN, Sherri BICKLE (Doug) and Jonathan SKELCHER. Stepfather to Carol HEIMLER (Bob,) Patricia BUSCH (Don), Lynne ASSELIN (Tim) and Richard BELLAMY (Karen). Fondly remembered by his 16 grandchildren and by his only sister, Roberta RITCHIE (Alex.) Ed will be greatly missed by relatives, many Friends and Tinkerbell. Visitation will be held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 20, 2002 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2: 00 p.m. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. The family would appreciate expressions of sympathy to the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.

Dearest and beloved mother and mother-in-law of Bruce (Marilyn) of Whitby, Fred of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Barb (and the late Bruce RITCHIE) of Ajax, and June (Alaistair MacKAY.) Predeceased by her loved son Wayne; parents Fred and Ethel PFISTER; sister Florence (Florida,) and brother Donald (California). Loving and cherished Grama to Craig BROOKS, Janet HALL (née BROOKS), Michael, David and Meghan RITCHIE, and Bonnie LESLIE (British Columbia). Dearest Great-Grama to Justin, Jessica, Gilbert, Megan, Spencer and Trevor. (Member of Connaught Lodge Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons No. 501 G.R.C.) Beloved husband of Dorothy RITCHIE for 60 years. Dear brother of Ethel PARKIN of Erin, Ontario and brother-in-law to Agnes and Les OLIVER, June and Leonard WEBSTER, Iris GIBSON, and Frances RITCHIE. Much loved by 11 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, and 10 great-great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wignall Chapel of G. H. Hogle Funeral Homes Ltd., 62 Long Branch Ave., Etobicoke on Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 85 31st Street, Etobicoke on Sunday, November 24 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to St. Paul's United Church or the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga would be gratefully appreciated.
