McKINNON, Agnes Amelia ''Toody'' (née BIGELOW) -- Died peacefully in her sleep at Central Park Lodge, Toronto, on Monday. November 18, 2002. Predeceased by her beloved husband Keith, her sister Mary GRANT and infant brother Jack BIGELOW. Loving and much loved mother of Jane, Gail and her husband John MacNAUGHTON, Ann and her husband Thomas KNIGHT. Dear Nana of Nicole McKINNON, Matthew and Adeline MacNAUGHTON, Jeremy KNIGHT and his fianc‚e Jerri ROBINSON, Kim Knight BOUND and her husband Jeff. She will be remembered with great affection by her brothers Dr. Bill BIGELOW of Toronto and Dr. Dan BIGELOW and his wife Sonia of Winnipeg, her sisters-in-law Eleanor McKINNON and Jean JOHNSON of Regina, her devoted caregiver Amelo RANARA, and her many nieces, nephews and Friends. Toody gave generously of her time to her family, Friends and community. She was a longtime volunteer with the Art Gallery of Ontario and a faithful and active member of Rosedale United Church. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Central Park Lodge on Spadina Road. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East), from 5: 30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21. The funeral service will be held at Rosedale United Church, 159 Roxborough Drive (at Glen Road), Toronto on Friday, November 22 at 2: 00 p.m. For those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, 2323 Yonge Street, Suite 500, Toronto M4P 2C9, or a charity of your choice.

RANKIN, Belle (née CAMPBELL) -- At the Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Toronto, on Thursday, November 14, 2002; in her 97th year. Belle RANKIN of Toronto, loving aunt of Robert and Joyce CAMPBELL of Orillia, Peter and Elsie CAMPBELL of Oakville, Catherine and husband Gary SEYMOUR of Peterborough. Predeceased by her brothers Jack, George, Sandy and Jim, and her sisters Jean, Bessie and Nellie. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains will be held at St. Andrew's St. James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia. A Memorial Tree will be planted in Algonquin Park by the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home.

RANKIN, John Carlton -- (Retired Architect, Life Member M.R.A.I.C. and World War 2 Naval Veteran). Suddenly on Monday, December 16, 2002 at Toronto General Hospital, in his 81st year. John, beloved husband of Beverly. Loved father of Adrienne HARDMAN (John), Carl, Stephen (Connie) and Kerri PEBERDY (Neil). Dear grandfather of Mitchell and Mason PEBERDY. Predeceased by his brother William Kerr RANKIN and sister Joyce Anne CUMINGS. Dear uncle of Susan CUMINGS and William Andrew LITTLE. John was a resident of both Oakville and Go Home Bay. He was a devoted member of both communities for many years. Among his many endeavours were Oakville Hydro Commission, Oakville Site Plan and Planning Board, Oakville Ratepayers Association, Oakville Boy Scouts, Honey Harbour Boat Club, Naval Club of Toronto, Architectural Advisory Committee for Glen Abbey Development and Ontario Municipal Electrical Association. Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service at Saint John's United Church, 262 Randall Street, Oakville, 1 p.m. Friday. Interment Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.

THORNTON, Betty (née RANKIN) -- At her home, surrounded by her family, and after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Betty peacefully passed away. Beloved wife of Charlie. Ever loving mother to Wendy and her husband Tom STAIRS, Nancy and her husband Stuart LAWRENCE, Penny and her husband Joe WYGER, and Paul and his wife Debbie SWIDINSKY. Cherished grandmother to Erin, Brittany, Heather, Kaelcey, Rachael, Christopher, Michael, and David. She will be sadly missed by all. The family will receive Friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 old Kingston Road, Ajax (Pickering Village), 905-428-8488, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. RANKIN, William ''Bill'' -- Peacefully on Christmas Eve at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Minnie (née McDOWELL.) Loving father of Bill and his wife Ann and Robert and his wife Lynda. Devoted grandfather of Rob, Kathleen, Kim and Jamie. Great-grandfather of Travis, Christine, Ryan, David, Andrew and Liam. Also missed by many relatives and Friends in Canada, Northern Ireland, and Cyprus. RICE, Marion Rachel (née CHISHOLM) -- Passed away peacefully at Toronto on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late J. Donald RICE. Loving mother of Don and his wife Brenda, and Sharon and her husband David RANSOM. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and other close family including Andrew and Kristi, Matthew and Larissa, Julie, Shirley, Steve, Brenda and Ken, and Karen. A Family Service was held under the direction of Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.
