POTJEWYD, Boelo (Bob) Johannes -- Passed away peacefully into the hands of God at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Saturday, November 9, 2002 in his 79th year. Bob POTJEWYD was born in The Netherlands. Beloved husband and best friend of Marie Longfield POTJEWYD and predeceased by his first wife after 40 years, Mary Elizabeth VERBIEST. Bob will forever be loved and remembered by his children John POTJEWYD and wife Sally, Mary BAKER and husband Don, Bob POTJEWYD Jr., Cathy WILKE and husband Mike, Peter POTJEWYD and wife Natalie, Elizabeth STOREY and husband Ron, Linda HENDERSON and husband Dr. Bob, Blake LONGFIELD and wife Ruth, Dale LONGFIELD and wife Kitty. Loving grandfather of Deena and Mathew BAKER, Chris, Halina, Jonathan and Sarah WILKE, Lara, Frances and Geoffrey POTJEWYD, Roman POTJEWYD, Lisa FARR and husband Dan, David HENDERSON and wife Karen, Christie LONGFIELD and husband Steve, Jennifer RAYNER and husband Scott, Becky LONGFIELD, Amanda and Jamie LONGFIELD, and ''Gammy's Bob'' to eleven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Taylor Funeral Home Newmarket Chapel, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket 10 o'clock Tuesday, November 12, 2002. Interment, Saint John Cemetery, Newmarket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

MEDLAND, June (née NORTH) -- Suddenly, on Monday, December 16, 2002 at the Toronto East General Hospital, at the age of 73. Devoted wife of Wilf MEDLAND. Cherished mother of April and her husband Wayne BLAIS, and Anthony and his wife Michele. Beloved grandmother of Michael and his wife Alicia, Melissa, Jason, Christopher, Steven, and Kerri. Great-grandmother of David HUNTER and Alexander. Survived by her sister Lois and her husband Aubrey POTTAGE and her brother Ross NORTH. Predeceased by her sister Betty SCHROEDER and her brother Grant NORTH. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and dear Friends. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough (between Eglinton and St. Clair Aves. E.) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Thursday, December 19 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. ATKINSON, Betty Ann (née POTTER,) R.N. -- Passed away peacefully at the Markham Stouffville Hospital on Monday, November 18, 2002 at the age of 61, after a prolonged illness. Betty Ann leaves her beloved partner Dick DUECK, dear daughter Natalie ATKINSON, loving mother Margaret POTTER and cherished brother Garry F. POTTER (Annette.) Also mourning her loss are her niece Michelle BYRNE and nephews David and John POTTER. Lovingly remembered by Dick's children Keith DUECK, Dee TOTTEN and her daughter Deidre and Tessa DUECK and her daughter Rebekah. Betty Ann's tireless dedication to her nursing profession will be remembered by all who knew her. The family extends their sincerest appreciation and gratitude to the caring and compassionate health care providers at the Markham Stouffville Hospital Palliative Care Unit 1E. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Ave.). Interment to be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, London, Ontario on Monday at 1 p.m.

POTTER, Cyril Alec -- Peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital on December 14, 2002 in his 75th year. Loving husband of the late Jane Daisy POTTER. Survived by his brothers Anthony (Stayner,) Reginald, Harold and John POTTER, sisters Iris SWATTON, Evelyn BURBOROUGH and Pamela ELLIS (all of England.) Nieces Susan Mary SWATTON and Betty DEADMAN (both of England) and Pamela North STAGJAER (South Dakota.) After many dedicated years of service to the City of Etobicoke, Cyril retired as Roads Inspector with the Works Department. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke (between Islington and Kipling Avenues), from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, December 22nd, 2002, with a Service of Remembrance commencing at 3 o'clock in the chapel. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BARRETT, Sandra Irene (née POTTINGER) -- Peacefully in her sleep on November 16th, 2002, in her 59th year, at home in Don Mills surrounded by her family and Friends who dearly loved her. Beloved wife and constant companion of Bob; loving mother and eternal friend of Christopher and Melanie. Cherished daughter of Rene and the late Oscar POTTINGER. Dedicated sister of Lynda BECKFORD and husband Graham, and devoted aunt of Emma and Matthew. Caring and loving daughter-in-law to Marion and the late Campbell BARRETT. Dear sister-in-law of Nancy and Bob CLARKE, and loving aunt of Amanda, Stephanie and Robbie. Her battle with cancer was heroic, brave and relentless; enduring four operations, numerous chemo treatments as well as a phase I chemo experimental program. Sandra always put her Friends and family first. She suffered immeasurable pain, both physically and mentally without letting on to even her closest Friends or family members the extent of her situation. Others' wellbeing was more important to her than her own. Sandra will be sadly missed by the staff and employees of Barrett Technical Engineering Services of Markham, of which she was also a dedicated and loyal employee since its' inception; by the many Friends gained through participation in the programs and events of the Ontario Jaguar Owner's Association with husband Bob; as well as the long time Friends and associates gained through sailing activities with her family at Cathedral Bluffs Yacht Club. Sandra enjoyed the many years she spent canvassing for such charities as the Heart and Stroke Foundation and The Canadian Cancer Society, and she was most generous to many charitable causes that were worthy of her support and sponsorship. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (Colorectal Branch), or the Princess Margaret Hospital (Colorectal Wing), Toronto, would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express special thanks to: Dr. SUI and the caring staff of Princess Margaret Hospital Dr. ZHENG and Tony PAAU R.N. of the Palliative Care Services serving North York. The family also wishes to express their sincere thanks for the help and devotion in caring for Sandra by close and dearest Friends: Tonny CLARKE, Teresa KRIJGSMAN, Marilyn OLIVARES, Nancy CLARKE and Di ZONNENBERG as well as so many Friends and family members. Visitation to be held on Thursday, November 21st, 2002 at The York Visitation, Chapel and Reception Centre - Toronto, 101 Senlac Road (entrance from Beecroft gates at North York Blvd., 416-221-3404) from 1: 30-2:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow in celebration of her life at 2: 30 p.m. in the cemetery chapel. She is gone but will never be forgotten, and Sandra is now at peace without pain or suffering. Her family and Friends mourn the loss of this jewel and exquisite diamond who touched us all.
