Michael Austin PERKIN
March 3rd 1957 to June 11, 2002
Mike PERKINS passed away in a tragic accident on Manitoulin Island, Northern Ontario on June 11, 2002 at the age of 45. Beloved son of Alan and Lily, steadfast and loyal friend and colleague to many, Mike was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in England. He was a technologist, microbiologist and ecologist. A former officer in the London Metropolitan Police, a trader in electronic goods in Eastern Europe, a commercial vermiculturalist and latterly an internet entrepreneur, Mike loved people, nature and machines. He enjoyed American cars, German motorcycles and fast internet connections. He loved jazz, blues, Guinness the company of Friends. Earlier this year Mike found a new home and a great welcome in Canada. He deserved at least another 45 years to enjoy both. Mike's enormous, boundless, restless spirit is now at peace.
Mike's ashes will be interred in Kagawong Cemetery, Manitoulin Island, his chosen home, at 11: 30 on October 18th 2002. Details from David WHEELER or Andrea BONSEY on 416-604-2166 or via davidwheeler@sympatico.ca.
Reception at 165 Main Street, Kagawong from 12: 30. For all the expressions of regret and the various acts of kindness which have been afforded to date by the people of Manitoulin Island and for the role of the OPP, Mike's family and Friends will be eternally grateful.

Ronald E. McDONALD
In loving memory of Ronald E. McDONALD who passed away April 1, 2002 at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor in Little Current at the age of 75 years.
Beloved son of Whitford and Agnes (née MARSTON) McDONALD both predeceased. Loving brother of Isabel (husband Joe PERKINS) of Toronto, Lewis MacDONALD of Lindsay and predeceased by Robert MacDONALD (wife Alice of Sudbury.) Will be sadly missed by his nephews Richard MacDONALD (wife Ethel) of Dundas, David MacDONALD (wife Theresa) of Sudbury and Bob PERKINS of Toronto. Funeral Service was held in the Tehkummah Pentecostal Church, Tehkummah on April 4th, 2002. Interment took place at Hilly Grove Cemetery, Manitoulin Island. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. Sudbury.

Alexandra Lee CAMPBELL
In loving memory of Alexandra Lee CAMPBELL " Sandy." Suddenly on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the Sudbury General Hospital at the age of 38 years.
Dearly beloved wife of Arran CAMPBELL. Cherished mother of Cassie and Delaney. She will be sadly missed by her father and mother Harold and Mary Ann McCUTCHEON, brother Terry and wife Judy McCUTCHEON, sister Cathy and husband David PERKINS and her nieces and nephews Meghan, Cailey, Leeann and Sara. Sandy will be greatly missed by her mother-in-law Joan CAMPBELL, brother-in-law Brad and wife Judy CAMPBELL, sister-in-law Wendy and Kirk STRAIN, brother-in-law Dougal CAMPBELL and her nieces and nephews Kelly, Jerri and Alex CAMPBELL, Robin and Teryn STRAIN.
Sandy worked in the transportation industry until she was diagnosed with lupus and since that time she has been a devoted surrogate mother to many children in her neighbourhood that she loved dearly. She loved to play ball and to watch and encourage her husband and children to play all the sports they are involved in. Above all she loved people and was a friend to all she met.
She was born and raised on the Manitoulin Island and has given her children an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the Island which she enjoyed. Visitation from 1: 00 on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. Funeral Service will be at 2: 00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Mindemoya United Church with Reverend Mary Jo Tracy officiating. Cremation.

Irene Myrtle PERRAULT
In loving memory of Irene Myrtle PERRAULT, January 20, 1920 - October 11, 2002
Irene Myrtle PERRAULT, a resident of the Centennial Manor, Little Current, died at the Manor on Friday, October 11, 2002 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Hamsworth Township, Ontario, daughter of Thomas W. RYDER and Lotté M. HODGEKINS. Irene worked as a store clerk for many years then worked at Manitoulin Centennial Manor as a housekeeper for 10 years before retiring. Irene enjoyed knitting and fishing, both in the summer and winter and was a member of the Little Current Curling Club. Dearly loved and loving wife of Edmond Joseph PERRAULT of Little Current, loved and loving grand mother of Denise and husband Gordon CYR of Espanola and two great grand children Peter and Jessica. Predeceased by her daughter Beverley WILKIN in 1989 and one brother.
Friends were received at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Sunday October 13 from 7 to 9pm. The funeral mass was held at the St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Little Current on Monday October 14, 2002 at 11: 00 a.m. with Father Robert Foliot officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place at the St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

Shirley Jean VANEVERY
In loving memory of Shirley Jean VANEVERY, November 3, 1931 - April 26, 2002.
Shirley VANEVERY, a resident of Meldrum Bay, died at the Sudbury Regional Hospital Site, on Friday April 26, 2002 at the age of 70 years. She was born at Tehkummah, daughter of the late Dodds and Vilda {PERRINS} McCAULEY. Shirley taught school for 35 years, starting in Meldrum Bay, then Elizabeth Bay, Burpee and finally Gore Bay, retiring after her accident. Although Shirley was dealt a position in life that would make many others not able to cope, she enjoyed many of the simple things in life, such as driving around the countryside or going to watch the cattle with Clarke, watching wildlife, but mostly spending time with her family. Shirley's greatest enjoyment, without question was her grandchildren, her children and Clarke. Her love and memories will be cherished by each forever. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Clarke. Loving and loved mother of John and Wendy VANEVERY of Gore Bay, Lyle and Janice VANEVERY of Lively and Joan and Willis SHEPPARD of Mindemoya. Proud grandmother of Elizabeth, Colin, Caroline, Evan, Owen and Graham. Dear sister of Pat (Calvin) LEESON of Elliot Lake, Joan (Bert) SAWYER of Tehkummah, Dodds McCAULEY of Willowdale, David (Barb) McCauley of Tehkummah, Brock (Tracy) McCauley of Gordonville, Texas, sister-in-law Shirley Anne McCAULEY of Brampton. Predeceased by brother Blaine. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home on Sunday. The funeral service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Monday April 29, 2002 at 2: 00 p.m. with Mr. Erwin THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON officiating. Interment in Meldrum Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Culgin Funeral Home.
