CLARKE
January 8, 1914 to October 2, 2002
Marvin CLARKE, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, passed away at the
Lodge on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the age of 88 years. He was
born in Sudbury,
son of the late Wm. Thomas and Lydia Mae
PEARSON)
CLARKE, and grew up in Gore Bay. Marvin attended Teachers College in
1932 and then Technical Teachers Training College. He taught for 10
years, on Manitoulin and Kirkland Lake, then to Kapuskasing where he
taught for 28 years, retiring to Gore Bay in 1972. Marvin was past
president of the High School Teachers' Federation, Northern District,
a Quarter Century Member of the Kapuskasing High School had been on
the Children's Aid Board for over ten years, as Secretary Treasurer
in Kapuskasing and
as President of the Manitoulin Board and was a
member of the Spruce Falls Masonic Lodge 648, Kapuskasing.
Marvin was predeceased by his loving wife

CLARKE,
April 2, 1998. Loved father of James and his wife Janet, and will be
missed by granddaughter Samantha. Dear brother of Harold
CLARKE and
his wife Patricia of Espanola Lawrence
CLARKE and his wife Marie of
Gore Bay, and brother-in-law to Jennie
SPRY.
Also survived by many
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by grand_son Adam, September 2000
daughter Caroline in 1938, brothers James, George and Frank and
brothers-in-law Leonard
SPRY and Lloyd
SPRY.
Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home on Thursday. The funeral
service was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on Friday, October
4, 2002 at 11: 00 a.m. with Mrs. Margaret Wood officiating. Interment
in Gordon Cemetery.
