MUSTARD, Marian Elizabeth (née DRANE) -- May 22, 1930 - December 25, 2002 Passed away suddenly but with great grace at her home in Toronto, in the arms of her husband of 39 years, Gordon Alexander MUSTARD. Schooled at the Ontario College of Art, Marian was, for 30 years, Art Director and Editorial Designer on such various publications as Chatelaine, Flare, Maclean's and The Financial Post. She was also the founding Art Director of City And Country Home magazine. During her business career, she won numerous awards for design and illustration. On her official retirement, Marian devoted herself to her painting through classes with John LEONARD and proudly achieved her chop in Sumi-e at the Japanese Cultural Centre. Her award-winning paintings grace walls throughout the country. She was a gifted artist and a life-long student of Egyptology, philosophy, art, and every aspect of the often complicated, but never dull, world around her. Marian delighted in discovering the joy in everything and everyone she met. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her husband, her children, Judi and Stan ASHBY, John and Mary LAWSON, Michelle and Stephen SMYTH, her grandchildren, Alysa and Harold KIM, David ASHBY, Megan and Patrick LUCKIE, Jennifer DOLAN, Paul DOLAN, Ryan LAWSON, Mac LAWSON, Connor SMYTH and Ian SMYTH, her first great-grandchild, Nicolas LUCKIE, and her brothers and sisters, Bruce and June DRANE, Norma WILLS and Irene and Jerome MOREL. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday, December 30 at 11 o'clock. Marian's family invite you to attend a reception at the funeral home after the service.
