SWARTZ, Theodore Lynn ''Ted'' -- 64, died in Toronto, at St. Joseph's Hospital, on Monday, December 23, 2002 at 1: 32 a.m., after suffering a massive stroke two weeks prior. Dr. SWARTZ owned a condominium in Toronto, where he was visiting when he died, and his main home was on Middle Bass Island, where he passionately enjoyed living for almost 40 years, with an 8 acre land parcel there and he was underway putting another home there this summer. That was his little heaven on earth, though he couldn't stay put too long anywhere, he loved seeing all parts of the world. He also had a hangar/condo with his airplane in Streetsboro, Ohio, where he practiced until just a couple of years ago. He was born on March 23, 1938, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Donald SWARTZ and Marabelle (STRECKER) SWARTZ. Ted graduated from Bellevue High School in 1955, where he was on the football, basketball, and track teams, as well as active in Choir, Thespians, and Hi Y. He went on to do his undergraduate work at Columbia University in New York City, from 1955-1959, where he was on the Varsity Football team, coached by Lou LITTLE and Buff DONNELLA. He continued his Graduate work at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York from 1959-1963, from which he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1963. He began practicing Veterinary Medicine in Sugarcreek, Ohio, then Warren, Ohio, Chelan, Washington, and lastly in Streetsboro, Ohio, and was a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association. A man with many interests, he also developed businesses in Charter Fishing, Christmas Tree Farm, and two phases of Campground/Resort Owner-Manager. He saw things that could be, and took action to make things happen. Though retired from his practice, he continued being a visionary, and wanted to develop and add life, always moving forward, not dwelling on the negative, only seeing the positive aspects. He loved to fly, though afraid of heights, and was a pilot, with membership in the American Pilots Association. Ted set goals and then accomplished what he set out to do. He flew his plane to South America, to Chelan, Washington, and many others places, crossing those things off his ''To Do'' list. He enjoyed both Power and Sail Boating also, and was a member of the Mimico Cruising Club, Toronto, in recent years. He was extremely active, and enjoyed participating in many indoor and outdoor sports - handball, snow and water skiing, scuba and snorkeling, jet skiing, bicycling, swimming, etc. Survivors include his wife, Helena Cecylia (KADLUBOWSKA) Krajewski SWARTZ, whom he married October 12, 2002.
