Ross LANE - Passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, age 49 years.
Beloved husband of Evelyn {BAUMAN/BOWMAN} . Dear father of Brian of Kitchener dear son of James and Madeline LANE of Gore Bay loved brother of Vivian CHIPMAN (Curtis) of California, Marilyn KING and Linda PINDAR (Ivan) both of Lively, Ontario, Glen LANE (Valerie) of Waterloo and Marie FIRLOTTE (Michael) of Cambridge. Brother-in-law to Geraldine BRUBACHER (Ken) of Elmira, Patricia MARTIN (Murray) of West Montrose, Martin BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Barbara) of Waterloo, Raymond BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Barbara) of Elmira, Dolores RAMIREZ (Miguel) of Elmira, Stewart BAUMAN/BOWMAN (Cheryl) of Hawkesville, Eunice FREY (James) of Hawkesville, Pearl FREY (Wayne) of Hawkesville, Jennifer BAUMAN/BOWMAN of Hawkesville. Survived by his parents and mother-in-law, Adina BAUMAN/BOWMAN of Hawkesville. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ross was a valued long-term employee of Samuel Steel, Bothwell Division, Cambridge for the past 25 years for which he received his Quarter Century Club gold watch on March 7, 2002. He was a valued friend and neighbour for his expert experience as a handyman and his hobbies of playing pool (snooker) and an internet pal. In his younger years on Manitoulin Island he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was employed at Wagg's Creamery in Mindemoya and at TH&B Railway in Hamilton. Ross' family received Friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Good Friday, March 29, 2002 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Reverend Paul Fletcher officiated. Interment Hawkesville Cemetery.

In loving memory of Rita WASSEGIJIG (PRICE,) December 5, 1929 - May 5, 2002
Rita Theresa WASSEGIJIG PRICE died at Bemidji, Minnesota on Sunday May 5, 2002 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Wikwemikong, daughter of the late George WASSEGIJIG and Marie OSAWANIMIKI. Dearly loved mother of Michael (wife Rene), and one grand_son Che.
Predeceased by sister Mary KING (husband Charlie) and brothers Boniface and first wife Mary RECOLLET (survived by wife Peggy,) Michael, Joseph, Brothers Charles, Francis and Alphonse died in infancy. Rita completed residential school in Spanish. Her first years of employment were in the Sault Saint Marie, Michigan area, where she met Billy Joe PRICE. They were married and moved to Oklahoma. Most of her adult life was spent in Oklahoma and Texas. After retirement, Rita traveled more often to her original hometown of Wikwemikong. Many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins, and Friends in many places will miss her. Rita traveled far and wide, and her indomitable spirit ensured that she made Friends everywhere she went.
Friends called at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah after 3: 00 p.m. Thursday May 9, 2002. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Mission on Saturday May 11, 2002 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment took place at Wikwemikong Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Manitowaning Chapel.

Theresa V. SAGO- COOPER
Theresa SAGO- COOPER, a resident of Kaboni passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on May 20, 2002 at the age of 62 years.
Theresa was born in Sagamok daughter of the David and Edna {GADABUSHI} FRANCIS. Theresa was a housewife and foster mother and spent many hours with her children and foster children. She also was a good cook and enjoyed doing many native arts and crafts. Beloved wife of Andrew J. COOPER of Wikwemikong. Loving mother of Bill (friend Samantha) of Sagamok, Connie (friend Larry) of Sudbury, Marcel and Patricia (friend Paul) all of Wikwemikong, and John of Sudbury. Proud and loving grandmother of Nicole, Kyle, Leo, Che, Amber, Tory, Todd, Tamarra, Damian, Diamond, Chelsey, Marcel Jr., and Leigh-Ann. Dear sister of Lyla KING (husband Randy) of Christian Island, Valarie OWL (husband Joseph) of Massey and Charlie DILLIEN (wife Judy) of Webbwood. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. Friends and relatives called at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni on Tuesday, May 21, 2002. Funeral Mass was held from St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni on Thursday May 23, 2002 with Father Doug McCARTHY as celebrant. Internment followed in Wikwemikong Cemetery, Kaboni.

Adeline Mary KING
May 3, 1915 to December 14, 2002
Adeline KING, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Saturday, December 14 2002 at the age of 87 years.
She was born in Wikwemikong, daughter of the late David and Jane (ASSINEWE) CORBIERE.
Part of her life was spent raising her family on the farm, then she worked in Oakville for a period of time, before returning to Wikwemikong in the mid '50s. She was a member of AMIKOOK and the Catholic Church. She will be remembered by
her family as a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She will be sadly missed, but many happy memories will be cherished.
Adeline was predeceased by her beloved husband David KING in 1981.
Loving and loved mother of Cecil, wife Catherine KING of Saskatoon Donald, wife Elaine KING of Fort Erie Elizabeth, husband Gary GAUTHIER of Peterborough and Loretta, husband Len McDONALD of Orillia.
Proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Also survived by sister-in-law Rita CORBIERE of Wikwemikong, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers Adam, Ambrose and his wife Angeline, John and his wife Victoria and James and his wife Mary. Friends called the Holy Cross Mission, on Sunday December 15 and Monday December 16. The funeral mass was held at the Holy Cross Mission on Tuesday December 17, 2002 with Father Douglas McCARTHY as celebrant. Interment in Buzwah Cemetery. Culgin Funeral Home

Loretta Mary {PELTIER} OKIMAW (spirit name Gchi Waabski Mkaw Kwe)
In loving memory of Loretta Mary {PELTIER} OKIMAW, February 3, 2002 in her 56th year at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian Site.
Loretta was a very proud member of the Bear Clan. She received her traditional teachings from elder Ray KINOSHAMEG. She received an honourary fellowship from the University of Sudbury (Laurentian University in 1999) having received many certificates in the past for courses she took with the Ontario Federation of Friendship Centres in Toronto. Loretta was very involved with the inception of the alternate justice program in the city of Sudbury. She worked alongside many of the judicial personnel in Sudbury in her role as native courtworker that she held for 23 years with the N'Swakamok Friendship Centre. Loretta was an advocate for the Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people that she had contact with. Her dedication and commitment knew no bounds. Her great sense of humour will be missed by all who knew her.
Lovingly remembered by Peter OKIMAW. Sadly missed by daughters Samantha (friend Clayton) granddaughter Letoya of Sudbury, and Pauline SACKENAY (husband Lynol) and their children Sheldon and Jarrid of Thunder Bay.

Special niece of Auntie Georgina FOX. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Cherished godmother of Danny PELTIER, Barbara PELTIER, Roseanne PELTIER, Mark ROY, Andrew PELTIER, Mark PELTIER, Faye FLAMAND and Darion MANDAMIN.
Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St at Hazel St. Sudbury thence to rest at St. Ignatius Church in Buzwah. Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Mission Church in Wikwemikong, Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation at the First Nation Crematorium.

Bazil (Buddy) MANDAMIN of Wikwemikong passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 30th, 2002 in his 62nd year.
Beloved husband of Caroline (née MANITOWABI) MANDAMIN of Wikwemikong. Dear son of the late Basil and Dorothy (née KINOSHAMEG) MANDAMIN.
Loving father of Monica (Jon) and Leila (Tim) both of Toronto, Daniel (Patricia) of Wikwemikong, Marylou (Dean) of Sudbury, Randy (Heather) of Whitefish Lake and the late Jerome.
Very dear brother of Doris, Theodore (Tina), Theresa (Angus) all of Wikwemikong and the late Mary, Margaret, Cecile, Victor, Henrietta, Henry, Joseph, Edna and Alexander.
Will be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren. Predeceased by 2 grandchildren. Buddy was loved and will be missed by many relatives and Friends. Bazil retired from Domtar after 25 years. He enjoyed being care taker of the Kaboni Church. His passion was farming, carpentry, helping family, Friends and spending time with his grandchildren and god children.
Friends called the St. Anthony Daniel Roman Catholic Church in Wikwemikong on Sunday December 1. Funeral Mass was held from the Holy Cross Mission Roman Catholic Church, Wikwemikong on Tuesday December 3rd. Cremation to follow. Arrangements by Bourcier Funeral Home Ltd., Espanola.
