A loving man who will always be in our hearts, passed away at his home in St. Catharines in his 92nd year. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy (JOHNSON,) two sisters, and combined family of 36, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Loving uncle of Ron and Pearl LEWIS and Gordon and Yvonne CARROLL. Predeceased by daughter, Dianne and three brothers. Memorial service was held at Grantham Mennonite Church in St. Catharines, Friday October 18, 2002. Ashes interred at Elm View Cemetery, Sheguiandah on October 20th with Reverend Faye STEVENS officiating.

Lenore Sadie SMITH
December 23, 1915-November 19, 2002
Nora SMITH, a resident of Mindemoya, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the age of 86 years.
She was born at Mindemoya, daughter of the late William James and Ellen ( Nellie)
(FERGUSON) McALLISTER. Nora had been very active in her community,
as a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Anglican Church Women, Senior Citizens Clubs, and helping any way she could. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, knitting and quilting as well as euchre, bingo and playing cribbage. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered as a loving and caring lady, who made great pies and heavy cake.
Predeceased by her loving husband, James B. SMITH. Special friend of Mel BOWERMAN of Tehkummah, loving and loved mother of Les and Diane SMITH of Sudbury, Blaine and Patricia SMITH of Little Current, Bob and Anne SMITH of Mindemoya, Gary and Brenda SMITH of Whitefish and guardian of Roberta (Lou) VAILLANCOURT, son Tyler, of Abbotsford, B.C. Proud grandmother of Darren (Pauline), Jennifer (Mike), Dayna, Jamie, Kerri (Troy), Kristie, Deanna and Jeffery and great grand_son Dawson. Dear sister-in-law of Erma McALLISTER and Phyllis JOHNSON. Predeceased by sisters Kathleen (Kenneth) TAILOR/TAYLOR, Odetta (Herb) BOND and brothers Robert (Violet) McALLISTER, Peter McALLISTER, Audorn McALLISTER and Orval (Evelyn) McALLISTER. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends called the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mindemoya on Thursday November 21, 2002. The funeral service was conducted at the church on Friday November 22, 2202 with Canon Bain PEEVER officiating. Interment in Mindemoya Cemetery.

In loving memory of Eugene FRANCIS, April 26, 1941-April 11, 2002.
It is with great sadness we wish to announce the passing of our beloved brother of Linden North Carolina at Cape Fear Valley Medical Centre in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Gene fought a courageous, life long battle with kidney disease. Gene was the son of Alfred KAGESHEONGAI and Edith NEGANIGIJIG (predeceased.) Beloved brother of Anne, Leonard, Victor and Julius all predeceased. Also predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Ola Mae in 1999.
By loving daughter Colleen GAINEY (husband Mark) of Linden, N.C., two wonderful granddaughters, Amanda and Farrah. Also survived by brother Raymond of Lansing, Michigan, sisters Clara WAINDUBENCE of Sheguiandah, Leona JOHNSTON of Tillsonburg, Evelyn OSKOBOOSE (husband Gilbert) of Cutler, Norma KAGESHEONGAI of Toronto, Yvonne EADIE (husband Lawrence) of Espanola. Gene will be remembered in this area by many for his great game of hockey. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Good Journey Brother!

In loving memory of Rita Catherine JOHNSTON (née HANNAH) who passed away Thursday morning, September 5th, 2002 at Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian Site at the age of 78 years.
Beloved wife of Lloyd JOHNSTON predeceased 1983. Loving mother of Joanne (husband Bruce HOFFORD) of Lively, Barry of Naughton, Kim (husband Gerry CHENIER/CHENÉ) of Lively and predeceased by infant daughter Sharon. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Lori, Shelley, Darren, Melissa and great grand_sons Jacob, Ryan and Liam. Daughter of William MORROW and Hannah (née HEMBRUFF) HANNAH both predeceased. Dear sister of Victoria SELLARS of Scarborough and predeceased by Eleanor WHITE/WHYTE, Joe, Andy, Alberta McMILLAN, Clifford, Glen and Paddy.
Funeral service was held in the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel Street, Sudbury on Saturday, September 7th, 2002. Internment at the Waters Cemetery, Lively. Donations to the Heart and Soul Campaign (Cancer Services) or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
