OLIVE, Arthur William -- 71 years of age passed away quietly with family members at his side on Wednesday, 20 November 2002 at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville, Ontario. Surviving are his wife Helen of Oakville, son Robert Olive of Oakville, daughter Nancy Olive and husband Pat BORG of Mississauga, daughter Joan Olive and husband Ozgur HUNER of Toronto, granddaughter Ella HUNER, sister Margaret McFETRIDGE of Regina, and predeceased by sister Kathleen BRANDON. A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday 22 November 2002 and a memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday 23 November 2002. The visitation and memorial will occur at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario (east of Kerr St.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lung Association, Halton Region, 2200 Speers Road, Oakville, Ontario L6L 2X8.

CAMPBELL, Murray John -- Peacefully, at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday, December 19th, 2002 in his 74th year. Murray is survived by his son Robert CAMPBELL of Toronto and his daughter Lynn HUNNAKKO of Nova Scotia. Sadly missed by his sister Elsie EVANS and brother Leonard CAMPBELL. At Murray's request, there will be no visitation or service. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705-326-3595). A Memorial Tree will be planted in Algonquin Park by the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home.

In loving memory of Elizabeth HUNTER SMYTH, October 14, 1924 to June 15, 2002.
Elizabeth "Betty" SMYTH, a resident of Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the age of 77. She was born in Scotland, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary BLACK.
Betty lived in Gore Bay and was employed as clerk at the CO-OP store for many years. She was a member of the Lyons Memorial United Church, the Friendship Club and a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 514 Gore Bay. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, baking and camping.
Dear and loving wife of the late Charles Henry SMYTH. Dear mother of Heather LEIGH and husband Paul of Orangeville. Proud grandmother of Steven SZABO and his wife Jennifer and Deborah SZABO and her fiancé Justin FOREMAN. Dear great grandmother of Joshua, Connor and Emma. Dear sister of Margaret REID and Andrew BLACK both of Scotland and predeceased by two sisters May and Isobel. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Elva Lauretta McGILLIS
In loving memory of Elva Lauretta McGillis, June 16, 1914 to December 6, 2002. Lauretta McGILLIS, a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, on Friday December 6, 2002 at the age of 88 years. She was born in Tehkummah Twp., daughter of the late George and Laura (BAXTER) VINEY. She was a member of the United Church, loved growing flowers, especially her pansies and glads, and enjoyed knitting and sewing, having made many quilts. Lauretta was a hard working farm wife and mother, and will be fondly remembered for her pride, love and enjoyment of her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Neil McGILLIS on February 26, 1993. Loving and loved mother of June LENTIR, (husband Russ HERRINGTON predeceased,) Robert and his wife Verlie McGILLIS of Mindemoya and Rick and his wife Debby McGILLIS of Trout Creek. Proud grandmother of Diane, Laura (husband George MARTIN,) Tammy (husband Cyle RITCHIE,) Patrick (friend Amy WALKER,) Ginger (husband Rick DESFORGE,) Victoria (friend Randy QUIRT) and great grandchildren George, Jennifer, Logan, Brittany, Zachary, Gavin and Samantha. PARROTT, John Edward Ross - M.D. 1915-2002 -- Passed away quietly, after a lengthy illness at his residence in Oak Ridges on November 10, 2002. son of the late Lionel and Minnie (MAJURY) PARROTT. Husband of the late Jean (née DAVIES.) A graduate of University of Toronto - Medicine 1943. Served as a Medical Officer in W.W.II, stationed Prince Rupert, Alberni Valley and Vancouver General, British Columbia. His medical career was spent in the Scarborough area and served on staff at Scarborough General Hospital for many years. Ross was president of the Toronto East Medical Association 1958/59. He was one of the original doctors forming Physicians and Surgeons Inc. in the early 50's (predecessor of Ontario Health Insurance Plan). Was a member of Kew Beach United Church, Toronto and Glen Major Church, Uxbridge where he (along with his wife) was involved in the music departments using his Associate, Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. Retired to run a small cattle hobby farm in Uxbridge Township 1967. Volunteered as part of the Medical Team at Haliburton Scout Reserve for 14 years 1981-1995. Enjoyed greatly reading, canoeing, sailing, golf, art and antiques. Was a member of the Scarborough Model Railroad Club. Will be greatly missed by caregivers Shirley and Thomas HUNTLEY, the Fred ROBINS family of Stouffville and the Edward FOLLOWS family of Richmond Hill and Friends Anne ELLIS, Marcia STILES, and Carolynne PHILLIPS. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Christian Blind Mission, Stouffville and Bob Rumball School of the Deaf, Toronto.
