BALPATAKY, Leslie -- Peacefully, in his 68th year, on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Princess Margaret Hospital with his wife and daughter at his side. Leslie, beloved husband for 42 years of Susanne. Loving father of Susanne and her husband Ted MASON. Cherished grandfather of Alexander. Dear brother of George and Tom (deceased). Remembered with much love by his in-laws Kathy, Ed, Tom and Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephew. Talented and respected engineer and businessman, involved in numerous specialized high elevation projects worldwide during his long career, he will be sadly missed by his many colleagues and associates. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church (432 Sheppard Ave. East) on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 12 noon. Cremation. Special thanks to Dr. HUGGINS, Dr. GOSPODAROWICZ and all staff in the Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care, support and kindness during his illness. Dear husband of Norma {HUGHES} WYMAN of Sudbury. Father of Wendy (husband Jim ELLIOT/ELLIOTT) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Jaime and Jennifer. Dear son of David and Beatrice WYMAN (predeceased.) Dear brother of Bruce, Stanley, Joyce and Percy all predeceased. Memorial service took place at the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Sudbury, Saturday March 23, 2002 at 1 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.

SWALWELL, Irene Helen (née BRADLEY) -- (Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and Life Member, Catholic Women's League). Peacefully, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, November 16, 2002, in her 103rd year of life. Loving wife of the late George Arthur, dear mother of Sheila (Johnson) DAY and her husband Richard, and Peter and his wife Rosanne. Beloved grandmother of Melanie LUCIW, Martha HUGHES, Stephanie WILSACK, Kevin and Mark SWALWELL. In addition, there are six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2002. Devoted mother of Gail HUGHES and Barbara MURPHY. Forever cherished by her grandchildren Erin BELOBRADIC (Mike), Brett (Monica) HUGHES, Dawn MURPHY and Nicole MURPHY. HUGHES, Frances ''Fran'' -- Born in Alderwood on October 8, 1926. Fran retired from Campbell's Soup after 41 years and was a Charter Member of the Trafalgar Golf and Country Club. After a lengthy illness Fran passed away on December 17, 2002. Survived by her sister Therese and predeceased by her brother Jack (Sonny) and sister Marian (Chick). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and Friends everywhere. Her special companion ''Cheekie'' has found a new home with Wendy SAWYER. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. STURM, Elaine Patrice -- (Vice Principal - Peel Board of Education) Peacefully, on Thursday, December 26th, 2002 at the Ian Anderson House, at age 49. Beloved mother of Andrew and Tasha. Adored daughter of David HUGHES and the late Patricia. Dearest sister of Linda HUGHES, Kathy HUGHES, Brenda HALL, and David HUGHES. Missed by the children's father Phillip STURM. Aunt Elaine will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
