Violet COOPER of Espanola passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 30, 2002 in her 73rd year.
Beloved wife of the late Clarence COOPER (1982.) Dear daughter of John and Flora {PATTERSON} HEMBRUFF. Loving mother of Nancy (Mrs. Edmond TREMBLAY,) Joan (Mrs. Lional McCAULEY) both of Espanola, Mrs. Linda HAMEL of Wawa, Betty (Mrs. Richard GUAY) of Verner, Flora (Mrs. Wilfrid TREMBLAY) of Lively, Mrs. Rose-Marie BENSLER of Kitchener, Michael (wife Jane) of Little Current and the late Mark Cooper, Bruce Cooper and three infant children.Will be sadly missed by 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Very dear sister of the late Ella MARTELL, Verona McCULLIGH, Mary BURNETT, Elsie MARTELL, Marjorie McCULLIGH, Rita MUSGRAVE, Roy HEMBRUFF, John HEMBRUFF, Richard HEMBRUFF and Ivan HEMBRUFF. Funeral mass was held July 3rd from the Good Sheppard Roman Catholic Church in Espanola with the Reverend Mr. Don SUNSTRUM officiating. Interment in Espanola Cemetery. CAMPBELL, John Dixon B.A.Sc., P.Eng., Certified Management Consultant Passed away at his farm in Orangeville, Ontario in his fifty-sixth year on November 11, 2002, in the arms of his beloved wife Beverly (née JAMES.) He leaves his wife and best friend Bev; his cherished daughter Natalie and her partner Mike; his mother Mary HAMILL his brothers and sisters: Ron and his family Jennie, Rehman, Soraiya and Rehana; Marilyn and her family Chris and Karen; Peter Cynthia and her family Penny, Erica, Meghan, Mara and Chris Michael and his family Cheryl, Sara and Devin; Mary and her family Cam, Kate, Ben, Eli and Emily; his brothers-in-law and their families Gord, Doug, Ken and nephew Alex. Predeceased by his father Michael and his stepfather Terry. Cattleman, consultant, artist, athlete, musician, winemaker - John, the true Renaissance Man - lived and loved large. Born November 13, 1946 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he attended primary school in Sydney until the family moved to Sudbury, Ontario where he attended St. Theresa Separate School. John was a member of the Copper Cliff Highlanders Cadet Corps. He attended St. Charles College where he excelled in athletics including track and field, football and basketball. He graduated in 1970 from the University of Toronto in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science. John worked for Inco Ltd. in Thompson, Manitoba and Carborundum in Niagara Falls, Ontario before joining Coopers and Lybrand which became Pricewaterhouse Coopers-Consulting, where he, as partner, developed a successful international practice and published numerous books in the area of maintenance and materials management. John was most himself at his farm, Dalriada Meadows, where he married Bev and where they developed a line of championship Herefords. He was an avid skier and sailor and loved the outdoors. John, the ultimate host, welcomed all, where he and Bev opened their hearts and their home to family, Friends and travellers, including numerous stray and homeless animals. Thank you to Drs. MYERS, KAIZER, FINE, WILLANS and the staff of The Credit Valley Oncology Unit, Mississauga and Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville. Thank you to all those who have expressed their love and support. A special thank you to John's Friends, medical advocate Dr. Terry COOPER and fitness trainer Kerry BRANIFF. A memorial service will be held in Westminster United Church, 247 Broadway, Orangeville on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 2 o'clock. Reception at Monora Park Pavilion. MARSHALL, Alice Lillian -- Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday, December 21, 2002, in her 89th year, Alice MARSHALL (née HAMILTON,) loving wife of the late Larry MARSHALL (1997); cherished mother of Peter and Valerie (North Vancouver), Judy and Paul SANGSTER (Brantford), Wayne and Laurie (Toronto) devoted grandmother of Scott and Heather SANGSTER, Ryan and Brenden MARSHALL; beloved sister of Dorothy and Vern SCHIER (Gads Hill,) Margaret ANDERSON (Renfrew,) Gordon and Nancy HAMILTON (Halifax, Nova Scotia); dear sister-in-law of Lew MAYHEW (Port Dover) and Jim MITCHELL (Arnprior;) also loved by many nieces and nephews. Alice grew up in the Ottawa Valley and journeyed to Toronto at the age of 18 to train as a nurse. She and Larry were married in 1943 and lived in Toronto before moving to Brantford in 1991. Alice was devoted to her family and always put them first. Her grace, kindness and gentleness will be missed by all who knew her.
