BETTERIDGE, Edwin Arthur " Art"
Born August 3, 1912 in Sussex, England, died peacefully September 16, 2002 in Brampton, Ontario, 90 years and 44 days of age. Predeceased on July 31, 1995 by Louise BETTERIDGE (née NILES) of Cobourg, his beloved wife for 56 years. Sadly missed by his daughters JoAnne KITTO of Caledon East, and Barbara BETTERIDGE of Brampton. Forever " Grampa" to Deborah DUCKWORTH and husband Larry of Whitby, Will KITTO and friend Lisa LANTHIER of Ottawa, Chris KITTO and wife Heather of Mono Road, and Ted KITTO and wife Susan of Owen Sound, and forever "Grand-Gramps" to Kyle and Jennifer DUCKWORTH of Whitby, Shawn, Michael and Megan KITTO of Georgetown, Melissa and Rebecca KITTO of Mono Road, and Daniel and Colin KITTO of Owen Sound. Predeceased by twin sisters Lily FENTON and Ethel DONLAN in British Columbia, brothers Horace BETTERIDGE in Alberta and Donald BETTERIDGE in Toronto. A World War 2 Veteran, Sgt. E.A. BETTERIDGE, No. C-73003, Royal Canadian Artillery, 23rd Field Regiment S.P. (Cobourg) Ontario, Cdn. Army Active 9 April 1942-12 March 1946 in Canada, United Kingdom and continental Europe. By the King's Order, was mentioned in Despatch in the London Gazette on 22 March 1945 for distinguished service in record of His Majesty's high appreciation. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main St. South (Hwy. 10), Brampton, on Saturday, September 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at 2 p.m., following which fond memories, casual chatter and refreshments may be shared at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15, 40 Elizabeth St. South, Brampton. Cremation. Interment at the Veterans Section, Meadowvale Cemetery at a later date.

GORECKA, Bonnie -- On December 25, 2002 at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, beloved wife of the late Henry GORECKI. Loving sister of the late Jean SOMERSET. Proud aunt of Lynn FENTON, and John and Robert SOMERSET. Born in Chatham, Ontario, Bonnie was in her 80th year.
