DOURIS, William -- Somewhere in heaven it is a warm, summer day in a park overlooking the lake. The sun is shining and John DOURIS is on the mound. Bill sits in the stands, a cold beer in one hand, a smoke in the other, and next to him sits his sister, Anne, probably chatting up a blue streak. John's pitching a no-hitter, a 50's tune is playing far-oft and best of all Bill hears it all, even the tiniest whisper of wind, as a hush falls over the crowd. Goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who was taken from us far too soon on Friday, December 27, 2002. Bill was truly a man of his time. His strength of character, high standards and unwavering loyalty to his family were well-known to everyone who knew him. But inside also beat the heart of a gentle soul, utterly devoted to Johanne, his treasured wife of 45 years, intensely proud of his sons, Billy, Joe, Mike and John, and immeasurably close to his brothers Drew, Matt, and Bud and sisters Anne and Joyce. His love for these people, their wives, husbands and children has had an impact well beyond anything he could have imagined. A Funeral Mass for immediate family was held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church on Monday, December 30, 2002. In lieu of flowers, the family would be very grateful for donations sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Away with funeral music, set the pipe to powerful lips - The cup of life's for him that drinks, and not for him that sips. Robert Louis Stevenson
