BRAUN, John P. -- Of Kimberley Cres., Kitchener went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2002, surrounded by the love of his family and Friends following a courageous battle with A.I.D.S. since 1986. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Suzanne BRAUN, father and stepmother Frank and Lesley BRAUN of Kitchener; brothers Frank Jr. and his wife Joanna of Listowel and Anthony and his wife Jessica of London. Also sadly missed by 6 nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his grandparents and favorite Aunt and Uncle Mary and John BAYER of Kitchener. John also lost many Friends to A.I.D.S. and special companion Jody. He will be especially missed by wonderful Friends Shane DELORME, Grant BETZNER, Jeff ROSENBERG, Gloria TAILOR/TAYLOR, Melina COUTO, Brian SHEPLEY and his Friends at The Aids Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Area. John worked diligently in the life insurance industry from 1984 until 1998. He began his career as a clerk with Equitable Life. Following, he passed his life insurance agents license exams. John was employed by Manu Life Financial from 1986 until 1991, at which point he obtained his brokers license and incorporated Investment Technologies Inc. He truly valued all his clients. As John's health declined, he gradually worked less and less, before selling the corporation in 1998. He often jokingly referred to himself as the uninsurable insurance agent. Which drove him to his business practices. John had a great love of all types of music, and was a very accomplished pianist himself. He also had a great affection for animals and openly offered financial assistance to the Humane Society. His donations will be missed. John is resting at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener 519-743-8900 on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. All family, Friends, business associates and clients are invited to attend a Special Musical Tribute to John's life to be held at the Forest Hill United Church (121 Westmount Rd E. Kitchener) on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date for family and close Friends. It was John's request that flowers not be sent to the Funeral Home instead a generous donation to the Canadian Foundation for A.I.D.S. Research, or to the A.I.D.S. Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo would be greatly appreciated by John and his family and certainly all those who loved him.
