MAIR, William -- Passed away on December 20, 2002 in his 74th year surrounded by his family at Sunnybrook and Women's Health Sciences Centre, Toronto. Survived by his children, Ian (Kelly), Andrew (Kim), David, Fiona (Richard), Grandfather of Duncan and Alison, dear friend and companion Ruth CHRISTILAW. Born in Newmilns, Ayrshire, Scotland, Bill served with the Royal Air Force before coming to Canada in 1951. He married Muriel (née LUCY,) in 1953, and together, they raised their family in London, Chapleau, Sarnia and Elliot Lake, Ontario. Teacher, principal, school administrator, Bill retired as Director of Education of the North Shore Board of Education in 1988. He served his community as director and chairman of St. Joseph's General Hospital and ARC Industries Ltd. Bill enjoyed his retirement in Algoma Mills, and after Muriel's death in 1993, in Bracebridge Ontario. Private arrangements. Antonio "Tony" GALLANT
Passed away peacefully at home in Ottawa, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 in his 82nd year.
Loving husband of Alberta JOLY, the late Rita GAUDETTE and the late Simone LAMOUREUX. Dearly loved father of Anita (Paul ARCHAMBAULT) of Ottawa, Marc (the late Jannine TROTTIER) of Ottawa and Anne-Marie (Donald YARASKAVITCH) of Whitby. Proud grandfather of Caroline, Nathalie and Patrick.
The Funeral Mass was held at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Vanier Ontario Saturday, February 16, 2002. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Centre d'Accueil Champlain, Vanier, Longterm Care Residence, for the loving care and compassion given to our dear father. Arrangements entrusted to Hulse, Playfair, McGarry Chapel.

Rita Winnifred HAWKE
In loving memory of Rita Winnifred HAWKE (née ARCHER,) 89 years, who passed away peacefully in her sleep, at Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Monday morning, March 11, 2002. Rita was born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. She lived in Garson and the Sudbury area for several years, before moving to Little Current. She was a very active member of the United Church and the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was always willing to help on any project. Rita was a very dedicated volunteer for the Cancer Society, receiving a certificate of appreciation for her efforts. She also received a lifetime membership to the Manitoulin Health Centre Hospital Auxiliary. Beloved wife of Norman Edgar HAWKE, predeceased Oct. 28, 1994. Loving mother of Kendall (wife Jan) and Daniel (wife Brenda), all of Little Current. Loving grandmother of Kelly, Danna, Angela, Devon and Alison and great grandmother of Caitlan, Christian, Destiny, Dylan, Tyler and Jordanna. Loving daughter of Mary Isabel ARCHER (née SAWYER) and Bertram ARCHER, both predeceased. Dear sister of Norma BUCK (husband Albie) of Toronto, Doreen McDONALD (husband Angus, predeceased) of Toronto, Bertram " Bud" ARCHER of Buffalo, NY. Predeceased by sisters Jean, "Ted", and Thear. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and special daughters Sheila McBRIDE and Sharon LANE. A Memorial Service to celebrate Rita's life will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Little Current United Church, at 1: 00 p.m. Arrangements in care of Island Funeral Home.

passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, St. Joseph Health Centre at the age of 77 years.
Beloved wife of Gerald GRAVELLE (predeceased 1968) and Clayton CAMPBELL (predeceased 1994.) Loving mother of Mike GRAVELLE (wife Betty Ann) of Copper Cliff Edward GRAVELLE (wife Sharon) of Manitoulin Island and Donna Lynn (friend Ron) of Mississauga. Cherished grandmother of Kari (husband Scott), Don (wife Vicky), Candace (fiancée Kyle), Corey and great grandchildren Craig, Josh, Megan and Jenna. Dear sister of Betty GROVES, Barbara LIDDIARD and Alf all of England, predeceased by Kenny, John, Sybil and Pamela. Funeral service was held in the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury, Monday December 16, 2002. Interment in the Parklawn Cemetery.

ANDREW, Mary Fraser Whyte (Maisie) -- Peacefully in her sleep at her residence, on November 21, 2002 in her 90th year. Maisie, beloved wife of 52 years to the late Thomas (1983). Much loved mother of Anne ANDREW, Isobel and Dick ARCHER, Margaret and Ian CHEYNE, Ian and Diane ANDREW (Ottawa,) and Lizbeth ANDREW. Cherished Granma and "G-G" of 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Fondly remembered sister of Mrs. Margaret JENKINS (Scotland,) Mrs. Anna MORRIS, Bill COLLINS (Long Beach, California) and Jim COLLINS and predeceased by sister Mrs. Rena CORRIGAN. Friends will be received at the Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Road (west of Victoria Park Ave.) (416-698-2861) on Monday, November 25, 2002 from 10: 00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
