The family of the late Eve PETERSON would like to sincerely thank relatives, Friends, neighbors and co-workers for the support and care shown to our family during this time of sorrow and great loss. Your cards, food, flowers and memorial donations were greatly appreciated. Your love, support and understanding has certainly helped us get through these very difficult days. Heartfelt thanks to the special nurses from Victorian Order of Nurses Strathroy/Middlesex, Home Care and Parkwood Hospital - Palliative Care, their wonderful care and compassion provided to Eve was greatly appreciated. William Robert IRWIN
In loving memory of William Robert IRWIN, February 2, 1907-May 10, 2002.
William IRWIN, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, and formerly of Barrie Island, died at the Lodge on Friday, May 10, 2002 at the age of 95 years.
He was born at Magnetawan, son of the late William Robert and Georganna {STEWARD/STEWART/STUART} IRWIN. Will had farmed all his life, and in 1971 he and Selena moved to Barrie Island, where they continued farming. Will had been a member of the Agricultural Society, the Parry Sound Potato Club and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the United Church. Many will remember seeing Will out on the water, fishing or ice fishing in the early morning, and indeed much of the day. He truly enjoyed fishing, and was very knowledgeable in the sport. He will also be remembered by many for giving his catches to people around town and Barrie Island.
He will also be remembered as a quiet, but loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Will helped family and Friends whenever he could and will be remembered as truly, a gentle man.Beloved husband of Selena Esther {MILLER} IRWIN. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Donnabelle (husband Walter predeceased) SMYTH of Silver Water,

William BARRET CHAMBERLAIN WRIGHT
In loving memory of William BARRET CHAMBERLAIN WRIGHT, February 22, 1911 to November 4, 2002.
Bill WRIGHT, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge, Gore Bay, died at the Lodge on Monday, November 4, 2002 at the age of 91 years. He was born in Mills Township, son of the late Walter and Minerva HORE) WRIGHT, and had lived in Mills all his life, except for the years he was overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. He had been a resident of the Lodge for about 2 years. Bill was a very active member of Branch 514 Royal Canadian Legion, participating in many events. He had farmed in Mills as well as he had been a chef on the Great Lakes ships for many years, and finished his chef's career at Northernaire Lodge. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt, fish, trap, camping with his grandchildren and attending their ball games.
Predeceased by his wife Gwenyth. Loved father of Carol and husband Bob SANDERS of Sault Ste. Marie, Ed and wife Brenda and Mike and wife Debbie of Mills, Lorrie WRIGHT of Tennessee and Sheri and husband Jimmy GOSNELL, also of Tennessee. Predeceased by daughter Nancy JERMYN in 1974. Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ed and Dorothy WRIGHT of Sarnia, Fannie WOODS (Stan predeceased) of Wawa, Maude BECKS (Jim predeceased) of Barrie, Mary LONG (Orv predeceased) of Toronto, Joan and Murray STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Cornwall and Herb and Betty WRIGHT of Sudbury. Edna spent fifty years in the service of others, forty years nursing and ten years teaching, and a lifetime devoted to her family. Edna was a caring and generous individual, selfless in the way she gave to others. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of Norwood Nursing Home for their years of love and compassion. She was the beloved wife of the late Ray UNDERHILL and the second wife of Clare FARROW; loving mother of Maryln STEWARD/STEWART/STUART (Jim) and Carol ROWLINSON (Ted;) grandmother of Timothy STEWARD/STEWART/STUART (deceased,) Carol STEWARD/STEWART/STUART (Paul GOODFELLOW), Mary MORGAN (Keith), Stephen FARNHAM (Julie BERGERON) and Scott FARNHAM; great-grandmother of Jamie and Jonathan GOODFELLOW and Gregory and David FARNHAM. She was predeceased by her brothers Wilbert and Lyle and sisters Mildred and Lois. Following her marriage, Grace Underhill lived in Harrow, Arnprior, North Bay and Huntsville, before settling in Brampton, where she lived for almost 60 years. She was a very good tennis player and a church organist in her early life and a faithful member of Grace United Church, Brampton, for many years. She and her husband and family spent many happy years at their cottage at Sand Lake, near Huntsville. Grace was an outgoing person and a gracious hostess and a particularly keen bridge player. She and her husband Ray spent many winters in Florida, where they were active lawn bowlers. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, Brampton (905-451-2124) on Wednesday, December 17 at 3 p.m., followed by a reception for family and Friends.
