Alma Beryl NOBLE
In loving memory of Alma NOBLE, a resident of Gore Bay and formerly of Elliot Lake and Silver Water, died at the Manitoulin Lodge on Saturday, July 21, 2001 at the age of 85 years.
He was born in Robinson Township, June 17, 1916, son of the late Harry and Bertha {STEELE} NOBLE. Alma had served overseas in the armed forces for four years, with the 'Happy Walkers.' He had worked in fisheries, steel plant and worked in the bush lumbering. He had a variety of interests, including gardening, crafts, carpentry, wood lathe and hunting and fishing. Alma's greatest love was his family, and spending time with them. His love and love of life will be sadly missed but many memories will be cherished. Dear loved husband of Dorine {FOWLER} NOBLE, loving father of Lorraine ROBINSON of Vancouver and son-in-law Chris ROBINSON of Gore Bay, Florence and her husband David FOLZ of Elliot Lake and Lloyd NOBLE and his wife Debbie of Prince George, BC. Loved grandfather of Jennifer, Tyler, Doryell, Wyatt, Nicholas, Angela and Steven, and great-grandchildren Jordan, Jolisa, Kayla, Emily and Noah. Dear brother of Ruby WHITELY of Los Angeles. Predeceased by brothers Golden, Garnet and Jasper and sisters Opal and Madeline. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home. The funeral service was held in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel on July 25, 2001 with Pastor Lyle Dewar officiating. Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Culgin Funeral Home 705-282-2270.

Bertha Dorcas FOREMAN
In loving memory of Bertha Dorcas FOREMAN (née YOUNG,) who passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre on June 9, 2001 at the age of 90 years.
Will be missed by husband Frank of Mindemoya.
Predeceased by her children Bruce COULTIS and Darlene.
Predeceased by her brothers and sister Myles YOUNG, Leonard YOUNG, and Alva WHITE/WHYTE. Loved by her grandchildren Mary, Jean (predeceased), Carolyn, Danny, Sheila, Betty, Larry and Eric. She leaves 16 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.
Visitation was on Monday from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service was held at 11: 00 am on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 both in Mindemoya Anglican Church. Reverend Bain PEEVER officiating, with burial in Mindemoya Cemetery.

Carol Anne June SOMERVILLE
In loving memory of Carol Anne June SOMERVILLE, June 18 1941-July 28 2001.
Carol Anne SOMERVILLE a resident of Toronto, died at her summer home on Lake Manitou Saturday July 28, 2001 at the age of 60 years. She was born in Toronto the daughter of the late George and Lillian (SMITH) WHITE/WHYTE. Carol Anne worked as a computer operator for CP Rail and was a volunteer at Scarborough Centenary Hospital for many years. Her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren, Friends and times spent at her cottage on Lake Manitou.
Dear wife of Brian McDONNELL of Toronto as well as Harold SOMERVILLE. Dear and loving mother of Cheryl McDONNELL of Bowmanville, Kevin McDONNELL of Pickering, and Heather McDONNELL of Toronto. Dear grandmother of Ashley and Amanda McDONNELL of Toronto and her nephew Paul DODSON of Milton. At Carol Anne's request there will be no funeral service or visitation. Cremation. Dear husband of Helen (née GAUTHIER) of Whitefish Falls. Will be sadly missed by children: Patricia and husband Wally ISTEAD of Belleville, Judith and husband James RALPH of North Bay, Wayne and wife Brenda of Belleville. Beloved grandfather of: Robert and wife Christina ISTEAD, John and wife Denise ISTEAD, Rod WHITE/WHYTE, Natasha and husband Don CARTER, Andrew WHITE/WHYTE, Melissa WHITE/WHYTE. Cherished great grandfather of Ashley, Kyle, Dylan and Shalyn. Loving brother of James WHITE/WHYTE (wife Elizabeth predeceased,) sister Patricia predeceased. Predeceased by parents Stanley and Doris WHITE/WHYTE.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at Island Funeral Home with Father Foliot officiating. Burial at Green Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Home, Little Current.

Alexander LYON McKENZIE
In loving memory of Alexander LYON McKENZIE, June 15, 1920-September 14, Sandy McKENZIE, a resident of Sault Ste. Marie, died at the Great Northern Retirement Home on Friday, September 14, 2001 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Gore Bay, son of the late Jack and Evelyn {PURVIS} McKENZIE. Sandy had worked at the Gore Bay airport, then was transferred to the Sault Ste. Marie Airport where he worked until his retirement in 1977. His greatest pleasure was listening to music, and he enjoyed a wide variety. In his younger years, he liked to hunt. Sandy was predeceased by his beloved wife Norine {HARTLEY} McKENZIE. Loving and loved father of Jane HOWARD (husband William George predeceased 1977) of Little Current. Proud grandfather of Vicki and Shawn. Dear brother of Doris (Sis) WHITE/WHYTE (husband Charlie predeceased) of Gore Bay and Ken McKENZIE of Gilford Conn. Predeceased by brother Jack and sisters Sally and Wilda. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2001. The funeral services was conducted in the Wm. G. Turner Chapel at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Linda White officiating. Cremation to follow.

Barry Leroy CLARK
In loving memory of Barry Leroy CLARK who passed away September 19, 2001 in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 61 years.
Barry was born in Mindemoya to the late Harvey and Myrtle CLARK. He was raised in Toronto and Burwash, then moved to Sudbury during his high school years. He taught in Providence Bay for three years and then moved to Sault Ste. Marie and continued teaching until retirement. Barry was known for his fine sense of humour and his political cartoon sketches which were published in the "Soo This Week", "Northern Life," and "Business This Week." Barry also belonged to the Soo Barbershoppers. He will be missed by many. Loved husband of Gail (née LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY) of North Bay. Predeceased by father Harvey CLARK and Myrtle (née MONKHOUSE) CLARK. Dear father of Tracy, Todd and Chad. Dear brother of Thear CLARK of Little Current, Nelda McEWEN of Goderich and Brent CLARK of Kenmore, Alberta. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Saturday, September 22, 2001. Funeral service was held on Sunday, September 23, 2001 with Reverends McLEISH and WHITE/WHYTE officiating. Cremation afterwards.
