Willard CARLISLE, a resident of Extendicare Falconbridge, Sudbury, died at
his residence on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the age of 90 years. He was
born in Aremosa Township (Guelph area),
son of the late William and Mabel
{WALKER}
CARLISLE. He had worked for the Department of Highways for over 30
years. Willard was dedicated to his church, and was instrumental in the
building of the Mindemoya Missionary Church. He was a great musician, and
played many instruments including saxophone and trumpet, and only 16 years
ago, learned to play the violin. He was proud of his family, and will be
sadly missed by all.

Angeline SAMPSON/SAMSON
{ENDANAWAS} , a resident of the Wikwemikong Nursing Home,
and formerly of Sheshegwaning, died at the Nursing Home on Saturday, March
10, 2001 at the age of 96 years. She was born in Sheshegwaning, daughter of
the late Joseph and Sophie
{WALKHOUSE}
ENDANAWAS.
She had many interests
and hobbies, such as making baskets of sweetgrass, lace making, quilting,
gardening and working in the bush and cutting wood. Angeline will be sadly
missed by her many family members.
Angeline was predeceased by her first husband Albert
NIGANIWINA.
She later
married Daniel
SAMPSON/SAMSON who also predeceased her. Loving and loved mother of
Georgina and her husband Angus

NIGANAWINA all of
Sheshegwaning, proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 42 great
grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughters Irene

mass was conducted at the Complex at Sheshegwaning, on Tuesday, March 13
2001 at 11: 00 am, with Fr. Bert Foliot officiating. Interment in

Betty was born on Manitoulin Island. She and Hubert lived in Sudbury for 38
years before returning to Manitoulin to take up residence here. She was a
talented craftsperson and attended as many craft shows and sales as
possible. Many of her knitted items were worn proudly by Manitoulin Island
residents.
Funeral service was held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4 with
Reverend Linda White officiating. Cremation to follow.

Tim was transferred to Manitowaning in 1932, with the Bank of Montreal,
married and then set up his first business in Aurora,
Ontario in 1935--returning to the Manitoulin Island in 1937. Tim
operated Cronin's Crafts from 1939-1950 in Manitowaning and the T&K
Gift Shop in Espanola from 1953. Tim was associated with the Stedman
Chain for 57 years having owned and operated Cronin Stores in
Manitowaning, Espanola and Sundridge.
Tim was an avid golfer and one of the founding members of the Espanola Golf Club.
He also enjoyed golfing in the winter months in Florida. As well he had a passion
for curling and was a member of the Decades Club, faithfully attending the
International Bonspiel in Quebec City.
Tim was a member of the Espanola Lion Club, retiring in 1985.
Tim had a love of sports and music--and those blue eyes were really
twinkling as he entertained all with his unique sense of humour.
Rested at the Bourcier Funeral Home in Espanola. Funeral Mass was
held at St. Louis de France Church in Espanola on Saturday, August
25, 2001 with Father Al McMillan officiating. Interment in Espanola Cemetery.
